Samantha
It's been a few days since Veronica was fired and left the estate. I've wanted to fire her for the longest time, but Mom and Dad wouldn't listen. I'm happy to have the power to get rid of her now. She's been working with us for too long and has been nothing but a pain.
Daniels has checked Caesar. He used to be a doctor before hitting early retirement. He also used to be in the British army. He doesn't talk about it, but I have a feeling he's saved the world once or twice.
He gave the human a normal check up and came to the conclusion that she had an concussion and will need a lot of rest. I know very little about Caesar, but I know for sure that she's stubburn and will not rest as much as she needs to get better.
So I'm going to have to force her to... which is another thing she will not like.
I groan. I can already picture her protesting and getting angry. "This is going to be rough."
I get up and throw the blanket off my body and head straight for the bathroom. Coming back out, I change and check the time. It's 8: 45 and Caesar isn't up yet.
I haven't had the chance to wake the girl up, but I'm sure it'll be an experience. I should let her sleep in. The poor girl might as well taken a punch to the face as well as almost drowned yesterday. I'd say she needs the rest more then eating breakfast on time. I take a little peak to make sure she's in bed still.
Lo and behold, she's still here, chest slowly rising and falling. She's alive too which has been worrying me for the last few nights.
Leaving Caesar to sleep as much as she likes, I go down stairs and eat breakfast. It's quick though. The thought of leaving Caesar alone for too long scares me.
"Is Caesar still sleeping?" Daniels askes as he pours me some orange juice.
I nod. "Yes, though I'm nervous for leaving her alone for so long."
"Don't loom over her, Samantha," Daniels advices. "It'll take time for her to recover from this concussion."
I let out sigh. "You're right, Daniels, but that doesn't mean I can't worry about her."
Daniels hums and silence hangs in the air.
"Are you afraid that she'll end up like Tex?" Daniels askes.
The name Tex stops me in the midst of my bite. I look up at Daniels with a glare. He knows how sensitive the topic is to me, so why bring it up?
"Yes," I answer honestly. "Why else would I have so many precautions to keep her safe?"
"I'm afraid that all your precautions will do is push Caesar away from you." Daniels says as he heads towards the door. "With the path you are going down with her, she'll end up exactly like Tex."
As much as I hate to admit it, Daniels might have a point. The precautions I put in place will most likely hurt Caesar more. Then again, the belt is what ended up saving her the other day.
It's just that right now Caesar is a rebellious faze. Disinteresed in me and every conversation I try to have with her. I can tell her mind is always thinking and her eyes wandering the room to find an escape route of sorts.
But once she comes to realize that I'm not here to hurt her or be her master or whatever it is that she pictures me in her mind, I'll remove the belt. Who knows how long that'll take though.
Once done with breakfast, I head back up to my room and take another peak into Caesar's room to make sure she's still resting.
The bathroom door is wide open and I can see the tiny person standing there and drying herself off. I can feel the blood rushing to my face and making me blush from the neck to the tips of my ears.
I pull myself away from the window, one thought running through my head. Oh, no! She's hot!
Caesar
I pull on the shirt, exit the bathroom, and head to the kitchen down stairs. I munch on some cereal and head to the living room . I keep the lights on the lowest setting possible and rest an icepack on my head to help the concussion.
Listen, I'm doing all that I can to get rid of this stupid head injury! There's no need to makes things harder on myself. I already did that with my burn.
I stare up at the ceiling for a moment while I rest on the couch in the living room. "What am I doing." I mutter under my breath.
There's no one there to answer my question except for me. Which is annoying because I already know what I'm doing and I hate it.
I look around the living room to see if something will fill the time. Just seeing books on the shelf makes my brain pound. So I guess whatever is on Tv will cure my bored for a while.
I flip through the channels until I land on some cheesy murder mystery show. It looks like something regular teens would be interested in these days and figured I'd stick with it for now.
After a few episodes, I had already figured out the show's pattern when it comes to the murders. The one who is seen the least is usually the primary suspect.
By the forth episode, I'm bored. I turn the tv back off and toss the remote on to the other side of the couch.
I look around again to see that nothing has changed. You'd think such a nice place would some better forms of entertainment.
Hm. I wonder what Samantha is doing? I ask myself. I guess I could go find out.
I get up, take some advil for my head, and grab the cursed belt that allows me to leave the house in wall.
Exiting the home and walking around the room for a bit, I can quickly tell that Samantha isn't here.
It shouldn't be hard to find the giant girl because... well she's a giant... who can suspiciously be extremely quiet at her convenience.
The door to the hall is closed and the desk is empty. It seems to me that she's left, leaving me to fill my boredom.
Peachy. The one time I actively seek out the giantess, she's nowhere to be seen. Crazy that I'd be looking for the girl rather then her coming to me all the time.
But after my long nap, a hefty lunch, and lazing around watching the tv has gotten me in the mood to do something. I've gotten so bored that the thought of doing nothing is a death sentence.
Resting is great and all for my concussion, but man! It gets old really quick.
I wonder aimlessly until I'm somehow standing in front the cracked opened bathroom door. I've never seen Samantha's bathroom really and if the giantess isn't here then I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to take a peak inside.
I walk around the cracked door and take a few steps inside. There's nothing strange about the bathroom. The tile is a marble white with black and grey cracks in it to stand out.
The sink is off to the right. It's big with a lot of counter space and a ring lit mirror. The towel rack looks like it's made of gold and I wouldn't be surprised if it was.
Next to the sink is a mannequin with a robe wrapped around it. The initials SG in curvy letters are sown into the left breast pocket. Past that is a door that most likely leads to the toilet.
To my left, the shower. It's a rain shower with a tile bench filled with soaps and hair care products along with other things. The shower tile itself is a darker color.
At the end of the bathroom is the tub. It's a jacuzzi tub, I can tell from the gurgling hot water and bubbles slowly building to the top. Not that the bubbles matter. It's mostly the just the running water. It'd over flow if Samantha left it for too long.
Running water...
Uh, oh.
My brain seems to work slower and I one hundred percent blame the concussion for it. But once the dots are connected, I realize my grave error. And once I realize that error, it's too late
The door swings open, the force of the created wind knocks me off balance and right onto my butt. The thunderous foot steps that come afterwards sends me into a panic.
I scramble back to my feet and rush to get to the wall as quickly as possible, pressing my back against the white wall.
Samantha comes thundering in with a long robe wrapped around her bare body. She doesn't have the watch on or else she would have been alerted immediately.
She walks right to the tub and turns off the water. The girl sits down at the edge of the tub and sticks her hand in to test the water. As she does this, I peal myself off the wall and begin to walk towards the exit.
When I'm ten steps away from exiting the bathroom, I'm quickly snatched out of the air. All the air in my lungs is forced out of me in a panicked gasp. I'm twirled around to face the giantess.
Samantha stares at me with a sharp skeptical look. "What are you doing in my bathroom?"
I'm taken by surprise. Like, literally. I didn't hear Samantha's footsteps at all and I just heard them two minutes ago.
It has to be some type of plot armor that she has or she a superpower that can be activated on command. Samantha did say her mother is some kind of super smart and famous doctor.
"I'm... doing nothing. I am doing nothing." I answer.
To be honest, it's one of the dumbest answers I've ever given but I gave it and can't take it back.
Samantha's eyes narrow. I'm set down in the teen's open palm. Her sharp gaze is cutting through my skin, sending chills down my spine. I hadn't seen a dangerous look like that in a long time and it starts to creep me out.
"Nothing?" Samantha questions as she walks back over to the tub. "That's believable."
I roll my eyes. "Okay, look, it's not what you think."
Samantha can't help but snort in disbelief. "Not what I think?"
"It's not!" I growl, pointlessly hoping to that she'll listen to me. "I was just wondering around, trying to take a peak-"
"Oh, you were definitly trying to take a peak." Samantha comments under her breath. It's easy for me to hear though.
Okay, poor choise of words on my part, but that's not what I meant.
My jaw tightens up in rage.
Of course. Of fucking course! No matter what I say or do, she'll label me as the bad guy in this situation!
"You shouldn't be out here anyway." Samantha adds as she sets me down on the edge of the tub. "With that concussion of yours-"
"Oh, so you're my mother now?" I snarl walking straight to the edge of the tub. "It's my body and my problem, I'll deal with the consicquences later. And don't change the subject, I wasn't spying on you like some kind of creep." I let out a huff of angry steam, stuffing my hands in my pockets. "I'm not that kind of person."
Water splashes and gurgles about. I turn around to see that Samantha has ditched the robe and slipped into the tub rather quickly and easily. She's tying her hair up in a bun to keep her hair from getting wet. The dense bubbles hide her modesty well.
It doesn't stop me from staring though.
Samantha has this natural beauty about her. With or without all the fancy makeup and dresses, she's fawless. I find it stunning and to be honest, I'm jealous for her effortlessness.
"You're staring... again." Samantha grumbles, giving me a nasty side-eye.
I huff and throw my hands up, knowing that she sees me as some creep right now. "Sorry, but it's impossible to not stare at someone as beautiful as you."
"Flattery isn't getting you out of this one." Samantha says.
"It's not flattery," I respond. "It's honesty."
The silence from Samantha is noticable, probably mulling over over everything. Water sloshes around as she pulls her knees to her chest.
I don't know why she'd be so upset about me wandering around. She didn't say the bathroom was off limits if I remember correctly. I mean she has a tracker on me after all. Samantha should be able to know where I am at least. It's not my fault if she wants to take her little gps tracker thingy. Also, I've stared at her before. How is now any different? Hell, she lifted my shirt this morning and I'm the creep for accidentally walking in on her.
I walk over the edge of the tub and sit down, letting my feet dangle of the ledge. The drop is far for me, but I'd only get a bump or bruise if I fell from this height. I've fallen from higher back home years ago.
Now that I think about, there's no stopping me from leaving right now. I mean, unless Samantha gets out the tub and stops me... which wouldn't be ideal for either of us.
As I begin to push off the ledge, preparing myself for the fall, the silence is broken.
"Do you mean it?" Samantha askes.
I stop myself from going all the way off the edge. I stare at the drop. A part of me wants to still do it and the other grips the edge furiously.
"Mean what?" I question angerly.
"That I'm beautiful." Samantha mumbles.
That's shocking to hear. It forces me to pause and think for a moment. How can Samantha not see her own beauty? She's got all the right looks in all the right places. I mean, duh! It's blantenly obvious that she's beautiful. Anyone who can't see that Samantha is pretty should get their eyes checked.
"I developed quicker than my peers back in middle-school. "Samantha says, as she scoops up a hand full of bubbles and blows them out of her hands.
Here we go. I'm pretty sure if this were a movie then this would be the part where there's a flash back scene. The rippling water. The fade away. Whatever it is that is used to transition a flashback... anyway.
"They always made fun of me for the way I looked. It made me self-consciuos of my body and the way people saw me. I had a hard time changing in front of the other girls, not to mention I dreaded running days." The giantess goes on explaining. "I got made fun of, teased, mocked, and bully nearly every day. It ruined my self-esteem. It would have ruined more if it weren't for Tex and Ashley. They kept me grounded."
I let the small story sink in. It helps me reminisce about my time in middle-school. I was a tomboy, always hangingout with the guys, it was fun. We always did the craziest things. I didn't have time to care about what I looked like or what I acted like either. I wasn't the best kid, but I wasn't the worst.
Middle-school is always hard for kids, but I think what Samantha went through is excesive.
I can see why she can't understand the praise I give, whether it's intentional or not. That and she doesn't think she's pretty. How insulting.
"Your old classmates can eat shit," I say, leaning back to rest on my palms. "You're beautiful and no one gonna tell me otherwise."
Samantha lets out an airy giggle. "Definitely should keep you close to boost my confidence."
Water sloshes about and a wet finger drenches me while Samantha gives me a gentle pat on the head.
"Hey!" I shout, my head and shirt now soaked.
I shove the finger away forcefully. Getting wet was the last thing I wanted. Actually it wasn't even on the list of things I wanted. Or need. Or desire. Or anything.
Samantha laughs as I use the part of the shirt that is soaked to wipe off any access water.
"I'd so dunk you if I could!" I grumble.
"Sorry," Samantha giggles out. She reaches over the tub for her robe and uses the cuff to dry me off.
I pout angerly as Samantha helps dry me off. The robe itself is very nice and fluffy. It feels comfy and warm on my head and back. After about a minute of pat downs and rubbing, I'm dried off. Actually well past the point of dry. The continuous rubbing begins to irratate me and my skin.
"Samantha, I think I'm all dried off." I say, pulling away from the cloth.
Samantha, looking lost in thought, snapped out of it and stopped. "Sorry... again..."
Samantha tosses the robe aside. She sighs then sinks back into the water. We sit in silence for a moment. It's welcoming though.
Now that Samantha has told me about her self-esteem issues, I now realize how she could think of me as creep from all the repeated comments and compliments about her looks. Then again she has been getting quite the confidence boost from them.
As for sneaking into her bathroom, I probably should have been more careful.
"Did someone hurt you, Caesar?" Samantha askes softly and out of the blue.
Well, I wouldn't say out of the blue since she talked about her problems and I haven't really talked about mine. Then again, I didn't know we having therapy right now either.
I open my mouth, quickly wanting to shut down the the conversation, but my brain freezes and the words get stuck in my throat. My body actively working against me.
Oh, look another plot point that needs to be addressed.
Yay.
It's not like I asked for the character developement in the first place. I would have been just fine staying home and living out my very normal human life with everyone else. I didn't ask to be the main character of some story!
I scoff. "What gave that away?"
It's quite obvious really and yet Samantha has to ask the question. I mean, the shitty attitude comes from everything that the giants did to me and she has the audacity to ask if someone hurt me? No, I just like being angry all the time.
"Beside the terrible attitude you have all the time, I'd say the scars that cover your entire body." Samantha responds.
Okay, she's not as dense...
"Yeah, I've been through a lot, what are you gonna do about it." I say, my words coming off harsher then expected.
Samantha doesn't seem bothered and although it isn't a question, she answers anyway. "I'm going to fix you."
Oh, no. The I can fix him/her mentality.
I let a long sigh. "I'm a lost cause Samantha. You're not going to fix anything."
"I doubt that, Caesar. I've seen the tiniest of glimpses of you being nice." Samantha says with light optimisum. "You just need to have some faith."
Have some faith. That's what my parents always told me. To have some faith in whatever it is that I did. Whether it was in myself or in others. Faith changes alot of things.
So maybe... just maybe I should have some faith in myself and in Samantha as well.
