Chapter 13 of 23

Here to stay... hopefully.

Caesar

I'm sitting on the giant fluffy pillow, waiting for Samantha to come back. She's having some important chat with her butler about who knows what. Probably just rich people talk. But what do I know?

Nothing about rich, I can tell you that.

We took the rest of the day to mentally and physically recuperate from everything that has happened over the last week and a half.

It's been emotionally taxing for the two of us. I'm sure Samantha is still reeling from my choice to stay. So am I.

There's just something about her that I can't leave behind. It has to be how kind she's been to me. It just has to be. I don't have any other reason to stay... unless I developed Stockholm syndrome in the last month. It just... I don't know. She's truly captured me and that's all I know.

Maybe, just maybe I need therapy to untangle all my emotions. Or I've completely lost my mind! Whatever the reason, I'll think about it another day.

For the time being, I'm going to try and get a good night's sleep and figure something out later.

The bedroom door swings open and the giantess might as well be jumping for joy. I raise a brow, both out of curiosity and concern for the giant girl. The giantess has been acting like this all day and I'm sure it's because my decision to stay.

But the more and more I see Samantha... Sam, acting like a giddy child in a candy shop, the more and more I regret my choice.

Whomp!

The huge bed shakes as the giantess flops down her bed, stomach first. She stuffs her face in the pillow and lets out an excited scream.

Okay, now I'm more concerned than curious.

I shuffle away from the giantess just in case if she decides to start rolling around like a wild animal. Her feet thump against the bed, sending small earthquakes up it.

Sam pops up from her squealing delight and looks over at me with shining glee. It's terrifying to see her act this way. Suddenly a hand scoops me up in a firm fist while she sits up.

"I can't tell you how relieving it is seeing you back to normal." She says with an excited squeal.

If the definition of normal is pale and sickly like with a side of not taking a shower in the last few days, then yeah I'm normal.

"I'll make it up to you, Caesar," Samantha says, her face becoming serious for only a moment.

"Yeah, yeah," I respond, waving the girl off. "You've been saying that all day."

"And I mean it," She adds. "I've got a couple of good ideas too..."

"Oh, great," I grumble, letting my face fall into my hand. "Here we go again."

Samantha has rambled and rambled about the ways she's said she'll make it up to me. First by removing the belt and second, I can leave the house whenever I like. I can go wherever I want, whenever I want and no giant wil bother me about it.

It's nice and a good step in the right direction, but... I want something a little more... disconnected from Samantha's room.

Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy Samantha's company. Heck, I think she's the only giantess I can stand to be around, but I want to be independent. I want a place where I can get away from the prying eyes of giants. A place where I at least feel normal. A place where I'm not constantly reminded that I'm a pet of sorts.

"Of course there's the plans of making your home bigger." Samantha continues on.

"Sam." I say, trying to get the girl attention.

"I'm also thinking of adding a slide. Oh and..."

"Sam?"

"How about this! I can make the place three stories!"

"Samantha!"

"Hm?"

The giantess finally shuts up, bringing her attention back at me. Her eyes beaming with joy and a, more than happy, smile on her face.

"How about you start by letting me go." I say patting the girl's thumb.

Sam's lips form an 'O' shape and also lets a soft 'oh' before putting me back down. "Right, right, sorry."

I straighten out my clothes and turn my attention back to the giantess who hovers over me. She's got the look of an overly excited golden retriever.

It physically hurts me knowing that I'm not all too excited about living in the walled house again. And telling Samantha that will wreck her mood.

"Look," I start off, rubbing the back of my neck nervously. "I know I agreed to stay, but... I can't keep living this way, you know."

Sam tilts her head to the side like a confused puppy. "Yes... why do you think I've decided to let you roam free?"

"Yeah, but... Nevermind." I say, letting out a sigh, knowing she'll never agree to let me have my get away. "you won't understand."

I don't expect her to understand either since she's never been trapped or held 'captive' by someone bigger than her.

"Then help me understand."The giantess's face morphs into a frown. "We're going to figure this out and we are going communicate it, effectively." She leans over casting a shadow over my tiny frame. "Now tell me what's on your mind."

The action feels more threating than anything.

I drum my thumb against my thigh, searching my thoughts on how to present this. It's like getting up and presenting to the whole class.

I just know that Sam's not going to like the idea and I want to save myself from the disappointing answer of 'no'. Not saying anything at all isn't an option either.

"I'm happy that you're letting me off the leash, Sam, but..." I hold out my hands, gesturing to everything around me. "I can't live like this."

Sam's brows scrunch together. "That's a little vague for me, Caesar."

"I know, I know, I just want to live... somewhere that's... not... here." I explain terribly.

Okay, so I suck at explaining things sometimes. The gods had to give some kind of flaw.

"Not here?" Sam asks for clarification.

I nod my head, hoping that she'll get the gist of what I'm trying to say.

"Like my room?"

She doesn't.

I bury my face in my hands and let them slide down, stretching my eyelids and cheeks. Life is really forcing me to say it, isn't it.

"The house, Sam," I finally say. It feels like I'm ripping off a bandaid. "I can't live here. I don't... I can't mentally handle living in the home of a gaint anymore. I need my own space, away from all..." Again I gesture to everything around me. "this."

Sam stares at me for a long, long moment. I can see right into her brain that she's thinking of something to say. That or she's stunn locked by my answer.

The gaintess let's a hefty sad sigh. "I really screwed up that bad, didn't I?"

I shake my head. "No... well, it's what pushed me over the edge, yes, but I've been thinking about it for a long time, Sam. I can't keep living under the gaze of giants."

Don't look at me like that. Lying is much worse than coddling. She really did screw up big time.

Sam stares at me long and hard. "And if I say no?"

The air in the room feels colder and heavier to breathe. Disappointment and sadness swells in my chest. My head sags in depression. There's no point in hiding my emotions if we're being honest with each other here. I made the choise to stay and I'll live with the consiquences.

I bite my lip and clench my fist, trying to keep the disappointment out of my tone. "Then... I'll agree."

If Sam thinks this is the best course of attaction then so be it. I let my emotions get the better of my judgement and this is what I get for it. I should have known better.

"I'll think about it."

I raise my head in hope. Samantha has a gentle smile on her face, but I can see her own sadness, her own pain, on her face. This isn't going to be easy for either of us that's for sure, but I know if we start with little steps then we can take bigger strides in the future.

We both have our past issues with each others kind and that's made it hard for us to trust one another. Sam's been unwilling to let go and I don't want to be tied down.

The perfect match, I guess.

I'll admit I've been difficult and untrusting of the giantess, but she's made a giant impact on me. No pun intended, I swear.

Plus one of us has to take the first step in the right direction so I guess I'll have to do it, as much as I don't want to thought.

"Thank you," I say gently.

The sad smile slips away and a more soft expression comes up on her face. "What do you have mind anyway? If you didn't live in my room?"

I think for a moment. There's been several ideas I had for a house once I got older. At first I thought I'd have a mansion with lots of rooms like a home theater, a gaming room, an indoor pool, and maybe an indoor go kart track. Now?

Now, I want a simple home with a warm feeling.

"A cabin... maybe..." I say, although not confidently. "I don't know, something that makes me feel like home."

"I don't make this place feel like home to you," Sam mumbles mindlessly.

"Should it?" I respond without thought. My heart clenches tightly in my chest. I didn't mean to say that. "Sorry, I didn't..."

"No, no, I get that a giant wouldn't make you feel at home... I mean a giant home with giant rooms and theres nothing but giants..." She slowly stops talking.

Silence fills the air between the two of us. The two of us looking anywhere but at each other. The tension getting more and more restricting.

It's going to be hard, these next few days, but I don't expect it to be easy.

"Let's just call it a night," I say, trying to release some of the restrictiveness. "Clear our heads and think about it tomorrow, yeah?"

Samantha's droopy look doesn't go away. It's a serious contrast then when she came in the room earlier.

I knew I was going to wreck her mood.

"Okay,"

I nod and get up from my spot and walk away towards the house in the way. I don't get far though as something tugs on the back of my jacket.

I automatically know it's Samantha wanting me to stay with her for the night. She doesn't even need to say a word for me to know.

"You want me to stay?"

"Mhm,"

"Alright, alright," I reach behind me and pat the fingers that are keeping me from leaving. "Let me change first, okay?"

"Okay," the giantess says softly, now letting me go.

I slide down the side of the bed and Sam gets up to change herself.

Entering the home in the wall isn't all that wonderful anymore. If anything, the place has a cold feel to it. It feels like a fancy cage now. I've seen through the lies of this place and it's not where I want to live the rest of my life in.

I walk up the steps to the loft area, pulling on my hoodie and shirt. The need to escape is engrained into me, I still have that desire, and this place really triggers it.

But instead of escaping to my old home, I want to simply escape the house that's in Sam's bedroom.

And what about Sam?

I pull off my pants and put on basketball shorts and a t-shirt. I walk into the bathroom and begin to brush my teeth.

It wasn't for yourself. It was for Sam. Why did you stay for her? Why?

My head screamed no over and over again, rejecting the idea of staying with Samantha. My heart though, it's drawn to her like a moth to a flame. Why though? There has to be a deeper reason other her 'being nice' to me, right?

Samantha radiates warmth and comfort. She's kind, caring, and overall more humane than any other giant I've met. She makes me feel things that I haven't felt in a long time. And things that I don't even know how to describe. Emotions that I myself don't understand...

Do I love her?

I pause, my eyes widening at the notion of loving Samantha... a giantess, of all things... erm, people. There's no way that could happen to me! After everything I've been through? Hah! It's impossible. At best, we are friends at worst, she's an acquaintance.

I bend over and spit out the white foam, take a sip of water, swish, then spit that out as well. With a twist of the handle, water spirts out of the faucet and washes the foam away. I stick the tooth brush back in the cup.

A hefty sigh falls from my lips. "I've been left alone with my thoughts for too long."

I walk back down the stares, my brain still trying to find a reason, a good one, to explain why I stayed. My best excuse is because Sam has finally broken down my walls and my heart is too soft to let her go now.

Yeah, that definitely sounds like love...Ugh! Why am I even thinking about this?!

An agitated groan rises in my throat as I open the front door and slam it behind me. "It's not love!"

"There's no way it's love." I try again to reason with myself as I walk towards the enormous bed. "I chose to stay because I would have died out there! There's no other reason! It's not because I care about her, or want to make her happy, or any of those things!"

Total denial!

"Shut. Up." I snap at my subconscious

I grab a fist full of the hanging blanket and begin to pull myself up, still grumbling to myself about how it's anything but love.

With the last fist full of blanket, I pull myself up and over the edge. I allow myself a small break, but the hand reaching for me says otherwise.

Slim fingers dig under me, wrapping themselves around my body and pulling me up. Like a claw machine, I'm dangled in the air then set down on a feather filled pillow.

"Thanks," I say.

"You're welcome."

I lace my hands together and rest them on my stomach. I let my eyes look around the room awkwardly, trying to find something else to distract my mind with.

Nothing is working though.

My mind is always being pulled back to the thought of me loving the giantess that lays next to me.

What's so bad about falling in love with her anyway?

My head unconsiously turns to face the girl.

Sam's brunette hair spills across the pillow, like a chocolate river. Her skin glowing from the light of the lamp. She's got a nice smile, with perfect red lips. Freckles that dot her cheeks and not a single blemish or pimple on her face. A perfect face, in my opinion.

I haven't even mentioned the rest of her body is stunning, especially... nevermind.

Her personality is tooth rottingly sweet and she cares deeply about those around her. Samantha is no saint though. She has her faults.

I can't blame her, not everyone can be as perfect as me.... I'm kidding.

She has flaws and so do I. We're both young and just trying to figure things out in this beautifully twisted world. It's truly messed up.

Nothing. I guess theres nothing bad about falling in love with her.

A deep breath fills my lungs and then I exhale.

Nothing bad at all.

Samantha turns her head to face me as well, still holding that same small tooth rotting smile.

"What are you thinking about over there?" She asks gently.

"You," I say without hesitation.

Samantha raises a brow in surprise, the smile turning into a smirk.

My eyes widened in horror and total embarrassment. Stupid brain! Stupid! Stupid!!Stupid!!!

My entire body pops off my pillow. "It's not what you think! I just- you know- it's a weird situation and everything... I... guess."

I watch as the huge girl rolls over, her face hovering over me, her hair falling to one side, hiding most of the light from the lamp.

"Weird situation?" Warm, minty, breath washes over me as Sam's soft voice graces my ears. "What could be weird thinking about the girl lying next to you?"

I gulp as a small blush begins to appear on my cheeks. "N-nothing! Haha! Nothing at all."

Samantha's eyes soften as she inches her face closer. "Nothing?"

We make eye contact. Sam's eyes are warm, round, and still looks like fresh baked bread. My eyes flicker down for a split second to her red lips, then back up to her eyes.

"Nothing at all..." She whispers now.

My heart beat rapidly in my chest, watching as those lips come dangerously close to me.

Is this really going to happen? It's too fast! We can't possibly do this! It wouldn't work!

She doesn't stop her advances, her eyes becoming half lidded as she does so. My own eyes flutter close and I lean in close to Samantha. Our lips brush against each other, electricty sparking between the two of us, and-

A knock on the door scares us apart.

Samantha gets up from her bed and heads straight for the door.

"Holy... shit..." I mumble, my fingers brushing over my lips. "There's..no way."

It feels as though the world has faded away all around me while ringing fills my ears as my mind races through my thoughts. My tiny little human brain can't comprehend the concept that...

"She kissed me."

"What do you mean she needs my help?" Samantha snaps angryly.

Those words yank me from my thoughts.

It's rare to hear Samantha get angry, so of course all my attention is going to turn to the anger and the drama.

Daniels is standing in the doorway in his usual attire and that same straight face. Samantha turns around with an annoyed look on her face. I know her anger and annoyance has nothing to do with me, but it's still a little intense to be under that type gaze.

I look between the two. "Who is it?"

The giantess approaches me and holds out her hand for me to climb onto. Samantha doesn't answer as I get on the palm and sit right in the middle of it. Samantha lifts me up and sets me down on her shoulder as she walks out of the room.

"Who is it, Sam?" I ask again.

Samantha, with a scowl on her face, answers this time. "An annoyance."

The giantess marches right up to the stairs and looks down towards the foyer. I look too and easily spot a woman wearing boots, jeans, and a black biker jacket, with flaming red hair, examing a picture in the foyer. She's holding the straps of a biker helmet as she walks around, trying to find something to entertain herself for the moment.

"Who's that?" I ask.

The red headed woman turns around as if she heard me from all the way up the steps. Her face looks somewhat similar to Samantha's. At first, I thought it was Samantha's long lost sister, but there are also enough difference that they aren't siblings.

"Kyla," She grumbles, her arms crossing over chest. "My cousin."

AN: I forgot, the latest chapter of dancing in the light and this chapter, as well as the next few, are connected. So if you want to see why Kyla's here then go read that chapter. If not? That's fine, I'll still explain why she's here.
