I couldnât concern myself on why he was hiding yet, as the knocking was getting louder and louder. So I slowly got out of the bathtub, and quickly hurried to the closet, as my clothes were still covered in blood. I didnât have time to change so I just grabbed a black trench coat from the closet and threw it on.
I hurried over to the front door, and as I reached my hand to the door knob, I realized it was shaking⦠I was very hesitant to open the door, as whoever was out there could be my killer⦠but the knocking continued, and I folded under the pressure to open the door.
Thereâs no way the killer would return⦠right? I thought as I opened the door.
âHello⦠is there a problem?â
An older man was standing by the door and greeted me.
âHello, Lydiaâ¦â He said in a very nervous tone while scanning me from head to toe.
I could see him visibly turn paler by the minute, but as I looked at him I felt a sigh of relief. He was only wearing a white plaid shirt which looked worn down with a black tie and some cargo pants. No visible weapons or anything he could hide one in.
âUmm⦠sir, is every thing alright?â
His eyes immediately jolted up after I responded.
I was confused for a second on my he was looking at me so weirdly and acting so strange, then remembered I put on this trench coat. It looked odd on me as I was holding it together and since I was rushing to put it on I forgot to look for a belt.
âSirâ¦?â He stated and looked at me like I had said something wrongâ¦
âHow can I help you?â I quickly retorted as I had realized that he called me by this personâs name, which means the original body probably called him by name as well⦠but I donât know his nameâ¦
He looked at the trench coat again, and I was starting to worry that he knew I was hiding somethingâ¦
âIâve received some calls from residents who are concerned about you as theyâve been hearing some screaming coming from this roomâ¦â
âOh really-â Before I could finish he interrupted, as if he knew I was going to brush it off.
âAlso, the person below you said they could hear smashing noises from your roomâ¦â

I slowly started gripping my coat harder as I didnât know what to sayâ¦
He looked down for a second then looked at me again.
âLydia, as Iâve said before, if anything is bothering you or-â he paused for a second before continuing.
âIf âheâsâ bothering you⦠please let me know⦠okay?â
âHe???â He must be talking about the alien⦠right?? Maybe some other guy whoâs been bothering her??? No way this person had a boyfrien-
âYeah⦠your boyfriend?â He looked extremely confused by my response.
âNO NO!!â I quickly responded while turning red.
âI-I just saw a huge spider⦠thatâs all!!â
âOh-okay⦠umm⦠if that was it then Iâll get out of your hairâ¦â He could tell I was lying as I wasnât doing a good job at hiding it.
âThank you for your concern! I have to go now!â I quickly turned around and shut the door.
âSigh, sheâs definitely lyingâ¦â
I hurriedly walked over to where the alien had transformed into a book and picked him up. I placed him on my bed and told him he was in the clear. I watched as he slowly transformed back into his original form and as I kneeled down beside the bedside, I asked him about what the man had said.
âDo I have a boyfriend?â
[No?]
âThen what did that man outside mean?â
[Ken? There was a misunderstanding and he was proud that you finally started dating, so you continued to lie to him]
âWhat? Why would she do that?â
[How would I know why you humans lie over the dumbest things]
I was about to object his statement but then remembered when I was younger I lied to my dad about something being super easy for me, when in reality it was extremely difficult.
âYeah⦠I donât know why eitherâ¦â I said as I plumped my face into my bed. Would I ever see my parents again?
âWho is he thoughâ¦â I mumbled.
[Heâs the owner of this apartment]
âAnd how did she know him?â
âI mean not including the fact he owns this place as he seems to have a close relationship with meâ¦â I doubt heâs this bodies fatherâ¦
[You told me that he took you in when you were younger]
I started to feel bad for the original owner of this bodyâ¦
âWhen did her parents die?â
[I do not think they have yet]
âWait what? Why did he take her in then?â I looked up at him confused⦠Maybe her parents couldnât take care of her and he is a relative?
[I do not know but from the time I have spent with Lydia, she is not the nicest person]
âWhat do you mean?â I lifted my head off my bed and looked at him.
He gave me the impression that he was somewhat scared of her.
[She just was not nice⦠Well she was nice to Ken but that is it]
âWhat about you?â I asked him as I wanted to see something.
He didnât answer me, but I could see his eyes narrow, and I could tell he was gritting his teeth⦠or whatever he had. That alone answered my question. There was a huge possibility that he did kill meâ¦
I could feel some anger burn up inside me at that though, but I tried to ignore it.
Before I did anything rash, I got up and opened the closest. He looked up at me and asked [What are you doing?]
âI need some fresh air⦠and I canât go walking around outside covered in blood.â
She didnât have many cloth options, so I just picked out another pair of the same pants and after some digging I was able to find a dark blue sweater.
I went into the bathroom and changed, laying the old clothes in the bathtub. After changing I fixed up my hair and wiped any blood stains on my skin off with a wet towel. I realized that there was no washer, so Iâd need to pick up some soap or something to clean the clothes here⦠there was no chance I was risking bringing those bloody clothes to a launderette.
With that thought, I opened the door.
âDoes she have a wallet or something?â
There was no response, so I walked out and noticed a book on my bed. It looked exactly like what the alien had transformed into earlier⦠I guess he really does sleep a lot.
I got up closer to my bed and wondered if I could kill him when he was in this state⦠I reached my hand over the book before freezing and remembering his arm transforming into a weapon. I quickly drew my hand back and slapped my face.
What was I doing!! Why was I acting so rash, Iâd never do something like that⦠right? Iâm still unsure if he actually did kill Lydia, and if I just kill him I wouldnât be any different from him⦠I need to wait for more information.
I looked over at the counter next to the bed and noticed a wallet. I picked it up and looked inside⦠There were multiple cards, which I ignored for now and looked to see if there was any cash. To my surprise, there was none. So I looked at the cards and noticed one that looked like a credit card⦠Bingo! I put it back and shoved the wallet in my pocket. Man was it nice to have pockets.
I walked over to the exit and looked over at the alien one last time⦠He doesnât seem that bad, but I need to keep my guard up.
