Chapter 71
Chapter 71
Jack did not rush her. He stood in the wind and waited patiently. His messed-up hair did not dampen his allure.
It was not that he did not feel cold. Rather, he was in good shape and could handle it. The temperature was at least ten degrees lower than when they were hiking up the mountain.
Violet looked away awkwardly after buttoning up the last button.
Jack ran a rough estimation of the time in his mind before reaching out to her.
Violetâs pursed lips turned into a smile and stretched her hand out.
She took his hand. Their hands were clasped together once more before they began to head down the mountain together.
Her body immediately warmed up after putting on his coat. Violetâs understanding of this man had deepened a little more.
He was not a man who fancied to be exceptionally superior and placed himself above commoners, was he? He still had some compassion in him.
âDonât get me wrong.â Jack seemed to guess what she was thinking. He spoke co olly, âI donât want you to catch a cold. I donât want to owe you anything. After all, I was the one who had brought you here.â
âYou donât need to explain. I wonât overthink it,â Violet responded.
The wind howled as the dark clouds loomed closerâ¦
Meanwhile, a Tweeter post by Jared was blowing up every facet of society!
Jared had publicly expressed his approval of Jack and Violet and wished them a happy life together, forever. His sincere. words had dropped like tons of bombs.
Jack and Violet were now trending as one of the most searched people on the internet.
Servers everywhere were almost jammed thanks to the multitudes of discussions and comments.
All sorts of media platforms were scrambling to report it.
Meanwhile, everyone at the Yancey Group who cared about the presidentâs love life was bewildered.
âMr. Sullivan, has the president fallen in love recently? When did it happen?â Someone asked in shock.
Others thought it was incredible. âThatâs right! Weâve not noticed a thing! When did it happen?â
âThe news came from Jaredâs Tweeter, doesnât that make it very reliable? Is this true, then?â
âNo, I think this is just too strange! Why isnât he dating someone else? Why is he dating Miss Yeager?
She is a clueless girl who doesnât know her place! How can the president be dating her after how she dumped him at the wedding? Where is his pride?â
âThis is not Mr. Yanceyâs style of doing things!â
âYeah, doesnât Mr. Yancey bear a grudge against her? Sheâs already very lucky that he didnât kill her.â
One of them still felt indignant about the wedding.
Some people speculated, âJaredâs Tweeter mustâve been hacked, right?â
âJared hasnât posted anything the whole year round! This sudden congratulatory post doesnât sound like him at all!â
âMr. Sullivan, youâre the closest with Mr. Yancey. You should know the clearest whatâs really happening.
What on earth is going on?â
Various voices bombarded his ears.
Michael, in his black trenchcoat, was in full view of their stunned and shocked expressions.
All the executives and chiefs set their eyes on the executive assistant, awaiting his official answer.
Michael rubbed the tip of his nose and raised an eyebrow. âThis isnât official business, so Iâve never asked. I donât know how true it is.â
âMr. Sullivan, donât do this! Snoop around a bit. This isnât a company secret anyway.â
âHow can you not know when youâre with him every day? How much have you heard?â
âBut the thing is, I really donât know,â Michael replied them gently. âGo back to your work. The contract with Jared has been signed so there will be arrangements for a celebration soon.â After saying that, he turned and left.
He moved like the wind; his figure looked tall and attractive, as always.

âThis is typical of Mr. Sullivan. His lips are sealed tight.â
âDo you
âI feelâ¦â
think itâs true?â
Another individual who was flabbergasted at the news was Theo Yeager.
There were still loose ends to be tied up although the company was now insolvent. Theo stood in the bright and spa cious office of the company presidentâs office. He could not help but feel despondent.
This had once been a busy place where many deals had been done. Today, however, it was a desolate place without so much as a shadow of a ghost.
A man in a suit and leather shoes strode quickly into the lobby, then the elevator. He encountered no one else along the
way.
The premises were empty, like an abandoned, haunted building.
He came out from the elevator and walked towards the presidentâs officeâ
