Chapter 4
âHey!â She almost slipped and fell. Instinctively, she struggled to break free. âWhat are you doing? Let me go!â
âYouâre not allowed to go until my grandfather is clear of danger!â Jack sounded firm. There was a fierce look in his eyes. âWhere would I go to claim your life if my grandfather dies?â
He began walking forward while dragging her along.
Violet recovered her wits. Her wrist was hurting immensely. Quietly, she tried to slip her hand out from his with all of her strength. It was very painful, but she did not make a sound.
She did not want to attract attention as there were many people in the corridors.
However, the more she struggled, the tighter his grip became.
âHey, Iâm not a doctor, let me go!â Violet started to panic. âWhy are you so unreasonable?â
âWhy are you at the hospital if youâre not a doctor? Here to watch the show?â There seemed to be a misunderstanding.
She finally realized why he was so angry. Did he think that she was here to watch the drama unfold?
Violet immediately felt very troubled.
Raising her voice, she said, âYouâre thinking too much! Iâm here because my mum is sick. Iâm worried that Theo Yeager will hurt her so I rushed here to fetch her! So let me go, quick!â
However, in the current situation, how would Jack believe her?
He did not stop his strides and maintained his tight grip on her wrist.
âVi!â
Violet heard a familiar voice coming from behind her. She turned
round.
The moment she saw her mother, Violet pulled at Jackâs arm as hard as she could and forced him to stop walking.
âMother!â Violet tried to break herself free so she could run to her moth but to no avail; Jack was unwilling to let go.
âWhatâs wrong? Whatâs wrong? Who is he?â Xayah ran towards her daughter worriedly, holding a bag of medicine.
When she saw Jackâs face clearly, she was so shocked that she halted immediately.
âLet me go!â Violet threw Jack a look. She felt very agitated as she did not want her mother to worry.
Nevertheless, Jack kept his grip on her.
From her motherâs reaction, Violet guessed that she had recognized Jack.
Her mother must have seen the wedding, which had been live-streamed to the entire city,
Violet was rather anxious. She lowered her voice and tried to compromise. âLetâs discuss this amicably.
Just let me go first.â
At that moment, she heard clear and orderly footsteps. Violet turned to see four men sharply walking towards them.
âMr. Yancey.â They greeted him respectfully with a bow.
Were these his men? Violet had a bad feeling.
She did not stop struggling to break free. However, no matter what she did, she could not release herself from his grip.
âTake good care of this lady. Round-the-clock care.â
Violet looked at where Jackâs line of sight was directed towards, it was her mother.
âYes.â
Two men took a step forward and held her motherâs arms, one on each side.
âWhat is the meaning of this?!â Violet suddenly turned around. âIâm the person you want! This has nothing to do with my
mum!â
When she saw Jackâs fierce eyes, she felt so angry that she instantly threw a punch at him.
Jack caught her fist with his other hand.
When Violet felt the power of his palm, she knew that she was far from being his equal if she wanted to force her way through this. Additionally, he had his men with him.
Both of their eyes met once more. There was a clash of ominous and violent aura between them.

Chapter 4
âVi!â Xayah was extremely agitated. âMr. Yancey, please have mercy on our young Vil Sheâs a victim herself! She was abandoned by her father even before she was born, she has never experienced the love of a father, and yet she was captured as a bride substitute! This isnât something she can quietly take!â
âMum, donât beg him!â Violet raised her voice. She did not want her mother to submit to them.
âTake her away!â Jack said angrily.
âMadam, this way please.â However, he still behaved like a gentleman.
âVi!â Xayah was exceptionally worried about her daughter.
Violet was frantic. âMum, you must take care of yourself! Donât worry about me!â
âViâ¦â
At that moment, Jack took a step towards the emergency halls and dragged Violet along with him. He was not giving her any opportunity to escape.
âIf you harm a single strand of hair on my motherâs head, I will make you regret it!â Violet gave him a look full of hatred.
She then gritted her teeth and said, âI admit defeat now, but donât you dare go overboard! Otherwise, Iâll make you pay with your life! You can try me if you donât believe me!â
âHmph, you talk big!â Jack gave a cold snort. This kid was too arrogant. âYou should pray that my grandfather lives first. If he doesnât, Iâll burn you to ashes!â
Violetâs stubborn face kept looking behind her as they walked. She saw them bringing her mother into the elevator.
She was furious, but not too worried.
Jack was not the type of person to harm someone who was innocent.
A man of his capability, who could manage a company to such great success, was definitely not scu m.
He was fundamentally a different man than who Theo Henry Yeager was.
Then, Violet was pulled to the emergency room.
