Chapter 24
Samantha listened very intently, analyzing the information with her hand on her face. There was a smile on her face, as though he was entertained. âThis is quite interesting So Michael has brought her back, is that right?â
âYes,â Lily exit Mootly
Ik woddâs best her to death, woedd her Samantha raised an eyebrow. âThe Yanceysâ reputation would go down the drain if this in dies as he lost his mind she wanded slightly hopeful
âI donât feel the president was the one who caned her injuries,â Lily replied softly,
âThe middle-aged woman was slightly stunned, âWho else can it be? Itâs already good enough that Jack didnât kill her immediately, with that temper of his Something flashed across Samanthaâs eyes, she then looked at Lily, âBut thereâs a pensanity that Theo Yeager wants her dead more than Jack does, yes?â she guessed.
âMadam, you shouldnât get involved in this, Lily advised, âSenior Yancey plans to stay in Rheinsville for the long term.â âSo heâs really not planning on returning to Calormen anymore?â
After a moment, Samantha smiled. âThatâs fine. A good show deserves a big audience. Otherwise, how boring would it be for the actor Go downstairs first. I want to take a bathâ
Lily gave her a look before turning away and leaving the room.
Night fell
Zoey was preparing dinner in Goldbay Va tate. The mansion was large but there were only a few ser vants because Jack liked a quiet atmosphere, There were many high-tech installations in the mansion, the entrance utilized facial recognition and the gates operated via car plate recognition. All windows and doors were bulletproof. An electric web had been installed over the grass in the courtyard. Nobody dared to intrude and risk death here.
It had also been said that fack carried a handgun with him wherever he went. However, not many had seen it themselves. Violet stood before a French window in a room on the second floor. She had been pondering Julianâs words the entire evening The deadline was ten days away, Julian would have to leave the village if she could not meet it. That would be very troublesome,
Thus, she had to quickly recover from her injuries and get this urgent matter settled.
Theo Yeayer, you better watch out!
While Violet was deep in thought, a white Maserati drove into her sight as it headed towards her.
The car stopped in front of the mansion and the door opened. Michael came out from the driverâs seat and opened the back car door
Violetâs gaze was drawn downwards at Jack, who got out of the car. His ramrod-straight posture always gave off the impression that he was as immovable as a mountain.
Violerâs impression of Michael was better than hers of Jack. After all, he rescued her that night.
By doing so, Michael had taken action without prior instruction or permission of his superior. If Jack had been the one there, not only would he have watched her die, he might have applauded it too.
A few moments later, she heard footsteps coming up the stairs.
Violet turned around just in time to see Jack
The door to her room was not closed so he walked towards her
âShe felt inexplicably nervous, standing, in his line of sight.
This manâs aura was too powerful. His deep eyes locked onto her petite, bruised face while he came to a stop in front of her
Violet felt momentarily suffocated,
His alluring, rosy lips moved softly. âI wish to speak with youâ
They were inches away from each other. Her eyes met his; his striking and domineering godlike figure stood in between ber and the sunset. His black suit, matched with an inner white shirt and a black tie around his neck, made him look like a

man of great ambition.
âAre you done staring?â Jackâs eyebrows furrowed slightly as he said in a cold tone.
Violet snapped back to her senses hurriedly and looked down. âWhat do you want to talk about?
Rental? Or do you want to get rid of me?â
There was no answer. She looked at his leather shoes before giving him an unconscious, furtive glance. She realized that he had been looking at her the entire time.
Violet blinked innocently. âWhat?â
Jack put both hands into the pockets of his pants. âDoes my grandfather know about my eyesight?â His deep eyes were filled with warning.
âHow do I know whether he knows? Iâve not said anything, thatâs all I know!â
Jack was in deep thought.
She asked uncertainly, âDoes he know?â
An iciness engulfed Jackâs sharp and quiet eyes.
âYou donât have to be like this, actually, Violet consoled. âThis is a small problem. So what if you lost your sight at night?
Itâs fine as long as you donât go out, itâs not like it affects your daytime activities.â
Jack reached out and grasped her wrist. âYou like running your mouth about that, donât you?â
