Dear Jodi
Iâve been thinking a lot about this, this thing we might have going. I know youâre married, I know youâre still my teacher. And I know youâre leaving.
What I wanted to say was that I love you too much to let you go now. I need you in my life, I always have even though it wasnât until that Saturday morning when I first realized. That morning I woke up next to you for the first time and everything felt so right. I was so happy, please donât take that away from me. Please. Without you I donât know how Iâd go on from here.
Love, Karla Lewis.
âKarla, sweetie please talk to me.â Jodi begged, holding my hand tightly.
âYouâre leaving? Just like that?â
âI didnât decide this after finding out about your feelings for me, Iâve known about this for a long time.â
I wonât argue, asking her to take me with her did cross my mind. It would be very wrong though not to think about what her husband would say. I bet she had expected me to either try talking her out of it or at least crying. I just felt so numb, so emotionless.
âBut I love youâ¦â Was all I could say and it came out more like a whisper.
âSweetie I know.â She hugged me, her scent was so sweet when I buried my nose in her neck.
She kissed my lips, that way only she could. I felt her slowly pull away after a while, her hand still resting on my hip. I saw on her face that she was about to speak, but I didnât want to hear more. Instead I pulled her back against me for another long kiss.
We ended up the same place as last time. Her bedroom. Just like the first time it was amazing and I simply couldnât get enough of her. Of the kisses she placed on my body, her hands gently exploring every inch of me and donât let me get started on that tongue of hers.
âTake me with you.â I was unsure if she heard what I said since she seemed pretty exhausted after we were done.
We were laying on her bed, our bodies tangled together in her light lavender colored sheets. Her scent was all over me at this time and I felt her body heat linger near my naked arm.
âI want to⦠but I donât know what Andrew would say.â I assumed Andrew was her husband.
âOhâ¦â I didnât know what else to say to her answer.
âKarla, try to understand me now. I would love to take you with me, to get you away from that place and most importantly so I could be with you all the time. But Iâm married.â She leaned on her hand, stroking my chest with her other one.
âYes, I know⦠Iâm sorry.â
âDonât be sorry sweetie, Iâm the one who is sorry for putting you in a situation like this.â She moved closer to me.
âDo you love him?â I couldnât help but ask, and I felt uneasy after the words had come through my mouth.
âI did, now Iâm not so sure.â
âWhy would you be with someone you donât love?â
She didnât answer at first and I regretted ever asking such a thing. But I couldnât go back and undo it.
âI think I was hoping Iâd start loving him again, eventually, I guess.â She looked at me, her face showed the guilt she was feeling.
âDoes he love you?â This was the last question, I didnât want to make her any more uncomfortable.
âHe does, he always tells me how much he loves me and does all kinds of things for me. I just⦠I just wish he could be happy without me.â Tears were now starting to fill her eyes.
I leaned against her bare chest, closed my eyes as I felt her fingers play in my hair. The silence between us was in a way beautiful. So peaceful and innocent. Before I knew it I had fallen asleep.
When I woke up my teacherâs fingers were still playing with my hair. First I thought she had been awake for hours before I realized I had just dozed off for about 10 minutes. At first I thought she was talking, but when I listened closer I realized she was singing. Her voice was soft and pleasant to listen to. I didnât move, mostly cause I wanted to hear which song it was but also cause I felt so nice this way. Resting my head against her while she sang.
â⦠If Iâm wrong I am right, donât need to look no further. This ainât lust, I know this is loveâ¦â
When the sound of her voice died out I moved around a bit. Her hand still remained on my head.
âThat was beautiful.â I whispered.
I looked up at her smiling face, a small blush was visible on her cheeks. She leaned her head down, giving my mouth a light kiss.
âDo you think you could sing me something else?â She got a confused look on her face, which quickly went back to the peaceful smile.
âWhatever you want to hear sweetieâ¦â
