Bella's POV
A cold breeze swept against my face and chapped my lips. I clenched tightly to the warm duvet, my teeth chattering in the cold. I curled up my toes and closed my eyes tightly, enjoying the warmth.
Suddenly, the lights flicked on. I sat up immediately and stared at the figure in my front, surprised.
What?
"Adrian?"
"Yup! Get ready. You don't want to be late for your flight," he notified and dumped a white paper bag on the bed.
Okay, what was going on?
"Wait! You're the weird corky dude - Caden's side kick right?" I asked, standing up with an interested smile on my face.
"Oh, weird, no. But yeah, he's my boss," he smiled and I nodded.
"The one Banks has been crushing on," I mumbled with a sigh, remembering the old days.
I snapped out of my thought.
"What was that?" he asked.
"Nothing," I shrugged. "What are you doing here?" I asked, staring at the bag on the bed.
"You're leaving today, so a little birdie told me to get you these. You might want to hurry. Your flight is in about an hour or two from now," he informed and checked the time on his wristwatch.
"Oh," I whispered. "Is he mad?" I asked, sitting on the bed, my voice suddenly pale.
"You literally broke him. That's all I can say," he replied and opened the door, walking out of the room.
I sighed and rushed into the bathroom. In a jiffy I was done and came out in a towel, another tied around my head like a turban.
I pulled out the contents from the bag and watched a blue jean and a black T shirt fall off. IÂ smiled at the thought of him and inhaled the scent of the clothes.
I put them on and dried my hair, did a little of my business and slipped my phone into my pocket.
Its goodbye L.A.
I opened the door and stared at the room for the last time before closing the door gently and walking down the stairs.
"Breakfast!!" Adrian announced and I settled down on the table.
The smell of hotdogs, fried eggs and toasts made my nose hang up in the air.
"Prepared by tour's truly," he added and took the apron off his body.
A little bite got me drooling for more. I had to admit. He was really good.
In a few minutes, I was done.
"Let's go?" he asked, picking up the car key.
I nodded and walked behind him till I noticed a figure by the corner of my eyes. I peeped a little and turned my head, my eyes immediately getting tangled up in his.
Immediately, I stomped into his study and pushed the door open angrily.
"Don't give me that look, Caden! You seriously aren't going to say anything?" I yelled in anger and frustration.
He looked up at me and then continued with his work like I just spat total nonsense. Like he didn't care. Like I was nothing.
"Right. What was I thinking," I mumbled and turned to go, turning the knob once again.
I waited for him to speak up. To say even a good bye but he seemed less interested. I shook my head and hurried out, joining Adrian in the car.
I hopped on the passenger seat and got my seatbelt on and Adrian drove out of the house.
"You've been awfully quiet," he mentioned, breaking the silence.
I shrugged in response.
"He's gonna come around. Trust me. He's just so upset right now," he said with a smile.
"I don't understand him. He didn't even say goodbye," I complained and cleaned the tears that fell to my cheeks.
"You know, good byes hurt when the conversation isn't over. If you think of it clearly, you're the one that never said a goodbye," he pointed out.
"But I need to leave. Its urgent. Its just -" I paused, exhausted.
"I guess that's why they call it life. Really complicated," he sighed.
I nodded in agreement and rested my head on the seat until we reached the airport.
"Here. Your first class flight. I'm sure you know your way?" Adrian asked.
"Yes. Thank you so much," I replied with a smile and we launched into a little hug.
"Tell him I'll never forget him," I said as we drifted.
"Neither would he," he replied a with a smile and returned to the car.
I waved as he drove away.
Time to go home.
I walked over to the first class queue that seemed so empty and stood there, waiting for the Lady to be done.
I kept tapping my legs on the floor in anxiety as I stared at the clock that hung on the wall. Ten thirty...ten thirty one....
"Bella?"
I turned back and saw a familiar face. Wait. What?
"Cameron?"
"What are you doing here? I mean, what happened?" he asked, surprised.
"I'm leaving. Going back to my country," I replied.
"I see," he nodded.
I smiled and the lady was done with both our documents and passports.
After a short time with little stress, we were on the plane. I tucked myself comfortably into the seat and he sat just beside me, the scent of his perfume dancing with my nose.
"First class flight, fasten your seatbelts," the announcement came and at the front stood an attendant demonstrating how its done.
"Thanks," I said to Cameron as he helped with mine and I rested my head on the seat, staring out the window.
"So, tell me. What's wrong?" he asked.
I turned my face to him and shook my head, giving him a smile I didn't think he bought.
"I can tell you're lying," he pointed out with a smirk and I rolled my eyes.
"Its - "
"Caden," he interrupted, nodding his head with a wide grin.
The announcement for the take off came and I comported myself, feeling the plane leave the ground slowly.
It was nice and spacious, unlike the ordinary flight. I couldn't wait for the exclusive services.
"I know. He's possessive and it can be annoying," he continued.
"Tell me about it," I said and hissed.
"You love him?" he asked and I recalled my last goodbye in his study and how badly it went. Even so, I knew I loved him so much.
I nodded slowly.
"Obviously. Just get your mind off him for a moment. Your taking a first class flight and you should enjoy it," he smiled.
"Thanks. And by the way, why are you travelling to New York? I thought - "
"Oh, don't mind me. I'm just making some research on something important and I have a couple of unfinished businesses," he replied.
"I see,"
We both smiled and I slowly averted my gaze to the window once more.
I was going home. Finally. But then, I was never going to see him again. Not in this life at least.
