Bella's POV
I couldn't. I couldn't do it. My conscience was killing me already and it felt like I was carrying a burden in my chest.
Whatever was in that envelope was Mercedes's business. Not mine. I had already caused enough trouble. At least that was what I thought.
I quickly returned the envelope to the box and neatly put it back where it was with a loud sigh that perfectly highlighted my frustration.
Plan B! Who was I kidding? I didn't have a plan B. I didn't even have a plan A in the first place. Things just happened in my life I had no control of.
I mean, for instance, why in the world was I in Los Angeles pretending to be a famous star and married to a narcissistic arrogant billionaire dude?
And why in the world had I not told them the whole truth?
And how in the world could I still keep up with this ANNOYING MONSTER!
I couldn't even explain it myself. All I could call it was complicated.
I swear suicide was the best option. If I messed it up, it would have been so bad. I knew how much it meant to the family and especially to Mercedes. I would be mad if I were her.
I didn't want to ruin her career. I just wanted to go home as fast as I could and forget that all that ever happened.
I sighed and walked over to the bed, feeling all sad and grumpy.
Eight freaking AM?
I needed to get ready. I had only an hour left.
Quickly, I took a shower and came out with water dripping from my wet hair and my head still drowned in hopeless thoughts on how to tackle the hell of a situation.
I speed dialled Miss Banks and annoyingly, her number was totally out of reach.
Where the heck was she? Hawaii? Taking a vacation?
I ran through Mercedes's contact and saw a lot of make up artists. Would it kill to have just one?
Ice cream sundae.. Jake frozen yoghurt.. jasmine make up...Jenny make up...Julia makeup.....
I picked Jenny, dialled the number and she was on her way in no time.
"Finally!" I groaned, lifting my hands in the air and looking heavenward.
To fix my love story problem. That was a pain. A serious headache.
I didn't even know what to do. What would I say? Or I would have probably stood there looking like a lost hippie! Ugh! The thought of that made me so sick!
I stared at myself in the mirror and realized I was still in my towel. I mean...her towel.
I was a real hot mess and didn't even know what to do.
Finding a way to release my tension, i stared at myself in the mirror.
With my left hand on my waist and the other slowly rubbing my stomach, I stood in the most sexiest pose I could, smiled slightly and then -
Caden opened the door. For the second time.
"WHAT THE HELL?" I screamed
"Th..that was....uhmmm.....m..my...f..f..fault. I...I...sh..should ....l..leave.." he stuttered, staring at my body from head to toe. Pervert much!
"Then what are you waiting for?" I yelled as he still looked, his eyes gazed on my cleavages. This dude didn't learn no home training. He was such a pervert.
"Yeah bye," he slammed the door.
"I hate you!" I yelled in anger as my blood boiled and my eyes widened in anger, fear and frustration.
"Same for me!" He yelled back.
I was so angry at that good for nothing prince charming. I mean, who the hell did he think he was? A prince charming?
If I was to barge into his room like that and accidentally see what's not meant to be seen, what the sun doesn't shine on and what his father gave him, would he feel okay?
Seriously! Would he fell Okay?
When you enter a room and accidentally see a lady undressed, normally, you're supposed to close the door and act like nothing ever happened. Literally.
But unfortunately for that doofus, he didn't know how things were done here on earth, he just flung the door wide open and stared at my almost naked body with his mouth stuttering, eyes like he's seen a ghost or something, and jaw dropped open.
Did I just say with his mouth stuttering, eyes like he's seen a ghost and jaw dropped open? Where in this world did I hear that phrase? It sounds so familiar!
I scratched my head, thinking hard and trying my best to remember.
Oh, yeah! It was Dar. She said that to me once. That was exactly what Malcolm did when he liked her and saw her in her super cute swimming trunk at camp.
Stuttering mouth, staring eyes, and dropped jaws.
According to Dar, it was the three things that proved,
1. A guy likes you.
2. A guy checks you out.
3. A guy thinks you're attractive.
So.......no way!
Caden didn't like me. That was just hilarious! Did he check me out? Maybe but...the last time he saw me like that, he wasn't so pleased about it.
Did he really find me attractive?
Well, I was attractive and anyone who didn't think that didn't even know how to think.
What did I care, anyways? I was not even married to that Greek god! It was Mercedes! And I was no way gonna fall in love with that rude dude.
Back to square one.....
Where in this world was my makeup artist?
She was supposed to be here a good twenty minutes ago. Why can't people be punctual for once in their lives?
I dialled again. The number was out of reach.
Oh My God! That could not be happening to me.
What if she didn't show up? I would go there looking like a kid did street art on my face. A clown would even be a compliment for how I would look.
I quickly grabbed the robe, put it on, and ran out of the room, tying my hair in a ponytail.
"Caden!" I yelled, knocking on his door in anger.
He opened it and leaned, staring at me.
I pulled the robe to my chest to cover my cleavages perfectly. I didn't want his pesky eyes landing on reserved areas.
He smirked.
"What?" he asked.
"Can you by any chance run through the love story please!" I begged, setting aside differences, non existent ego's and anger of any kind.
"Come in," he said with a smile, opening the door a bit wider.
"What?" I asked, raising a brow and totally lost in his words.
"I said, come in, " he said again, opening the door even wider.
"Why?" I asked awkwardly.
"Do you want the love story or not?" He yelled.
"Alright, fine. I'm coming in," I replied and he gave way while I walked in like it was the first time I was seeing a room.
"Have a seat," he said with a slight smile.
Okay, he was acting super weird and it was not funny. I slowly sat on the bed with my eyes on his face and mind alert for any rape attempt on my precious body.
He locked the door. That's it!
"What are you doing, JERK?" I yelled.
He put the key down his pants and smirked disgustingly, twirling his waist in a circular motion. I could never unsee that.
"Wh...why would you do that?" I cried out, almost loosing my voice from all the yelling.
"Cause I want to and I can," he replied and slowly walked towards me.
"Well, that explains it," I nodded and shifted back a bit.
He smirked and came even closer.
"And this.....explains everything," He said and came over to me, grabbing my hands and headed for a kiss.
What are you doing you pervert?" I yelled, running around the room, trying to prevent my robe from getting lose.
I am not ready to take care of a child. At least not yet.
He grabbed the knot of my robe and loosened it. I was so mad!
"You are such a....." I searched for the perfect phrase to explain his actions.
"Knock knock! Anyone here?" I jerked at the sound of a soft knock from outside the room.
How long had I been staring at myself and imagining things? I wished Caden barging in here was my imagination too.
I wore a robe and walked to the door, rubbing my eyes and fastening the knot I made.
Oh, it was Jenny, I suppose. The makeup artist I phoned earlier.
"You were supposed to be here an hour ago!" I yelled, really angry at her.
"Oh, I'm so sorry. I got stuck in....oh no!"
"What?" I opened the door wide and saw all the makeup stuff run down the floor, the stairs, broken and wasted.
I deserved an honourable death.
