CHAPTER 22

Nick's P.O.V

It's been three days since the battle. The Silver sisters have still not woken up after they passed out in the clearing after defeating their uncle. The doctor says they're all fine, just extremely exhausted from using their abilities, Kiara more so than her sisters due to her not eating and resting enough as well as another reason. I was still processing what the doctor had said about the other reason.

(Flashback...)

"Alexia, how are they?" I had asked the pack doctor after we had brought them into the clinic and she had checked them.

"They're fine, Alpha. They're just extremely exhausted from the battle and using their abilities, the queen more so than her sister due to her present condition." Alexia answered.

"Condition? Alexia, what are you talking about?" Raelynn asked from beside me. They had both help me bring Kiara and her sisters in.

"When I checked her, I noticed that her glucose/energy levels were very low. I think it's probably because she's not been eating and resting enough. And of course, because the baby's also using..."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Slow down. I'm sorry, did you just say baby?" I asked.

"Yeah, I thought you knew. Her Majesty is pregnant with your child, Alpha. She's been pregnant for a month. That's the other reason why she passed out and also why she was bleeding from her nose. She had a slight aneurysm which was caused by her overexerting herself during the battle when she merged with her sisters to use their abilities. It caused a huge strain on her energy levels and body. So right now, her body and system are taking time to heal and restore her energy and also to keep the baby from dying so it might take some time for Her Majesty to wake up. The same with her sisters only without the whole pregnancy, baby issue. Other than that, they're all totally fine. They just need to heal. And before you ask, yes, the baby's also fine." Alexia explained and assured. I was in shock and still stuck on her statement, 'Her Majesty is pregnant with your child, Alpha,' though I heard everything else she said.

"Thank you, Alexia." Alec said.

"You're welcome. If you'll excuse me, I have some other patients to check on. See if you can wake him up from his shocked state." Alexia said directing her latter statement towards my current condition. Alec and Rae chuckled and nodded, thanking her once again. Alec led me over to a chair and sat me down.

"Hey, Nick. Snap out of it." He tapped my shoulder to bring me out of it.

"I'm going to be a dad. I'm going to be a father, Al." I said, looking up at him with a smile. He and Rae smiled back at me.

(Flashback over...)

I had her moved from the clinic to our room because I knew how much she would hate it if she would hate it if she woke up in the clinic. The door to out room opened just then to let Rae in.

"Hey, Nick. Kara and Korra are up."

"That's great, Rae. I'll be down in a minute to see them."

"She's fine, Nick. Her heartbeat is strong and so is the baby's. Her body just needs to get the rest it's been deprived of." Rae said to comfort me.

"I know. Let's go." I kissed Kiara's forehead then went downstairs with Rae to see Kara and Korra out of bed and hugging everyone. I waited till they were done before I hugged them as well.

"Hey, girls. Welcome back. We've really missed you." I said.

"Same. So I heard you let our cousins stay till we woke up." Korra asked.

"I did. It was the least I could. I mean without then we wouldn't have won the battle."

"Very true. Thank you." Kara said.

"I should be thanking you girls, for everything." I smiled and hugged them once again.

"Are you guys having a hug fest without me? That's not fair." I heard a very familiar voice say from behind me. Kara and Korra squealed and ran past me to hug the person. I turned and saw the three sisters laughing and hugging each other.

"Finally, you're up." Alec said, going over to hug her.

"Yeah, now we can start planning a celebration party." Rae added, also hugging her. Once they parted, I was able to look at my beautiful smiling mate for the first time in three days.

"Are you just gonna stand there or are you gonna come here and give me a hug and a kiss?" She said. I chuckled and opened my arms for her to run and jump in. I spun her around a bit as I hugged then gave her the longest sweetest kiss.

"Hey, guys. There are children here who do not want to be seeing your PDA." We heard Raelynn say from behind us. We pulled apart and laughed with the others.

"I don't know about you guys but I'm going to shower and then Rae, we get too start party planning.

"Me too." Her sisters said. The three of them went upstairs to their rooms leaving the rest of us staring after them.

"Hey, did you guys tell the other Silver siblings that their cousins are awake?" I asked.

"Not yet but we're going to, right now. In the meantime, you might wanna get up there and talk to KK about... you know. I think she's figured it out by now." Alec suggested.

"Yeah, meanwhile I'm still processing the fact that I'm... wow, still not quite sunk in." I said.

"It will once you two talk. By the way, Senora Mendez prepared something for her and her siblings to eat when they woke up. You can take hers up to her since she actually needs it more after being out for 3 days straight." Rae said.

"Yeah, thanks guys." I got the food from the kitchen then went up to our room with it. I entered our room to see Kiara standing in front of the mirror looking down at her stomach with the hairbrush in her hand mid-air and a concentrated expression on her face. She looked up at me as I entered and placed the tray with the food on the bed.

"Nick, can you hear that? Or am I just hearing things?" I placed my hands on both sides of her face and rubbed her cheeks.

"No, you're not hearing things. You're hearing right. You're hearing a second heartbeat coming from you."

"Am I..."

"Yeah, honey. We're having a baby. I'm going to be a dad and you're going to be a mom."

"Oh my God." She said with a smile and tears in her eyes before dropping the hair brush and jumping to hug me tightly. I chuckled softly and hugged her back.

"I was shocked too when the doctor told me about it too. I guess we've all been too preoccupied these last few weeks to have paid attention."

"Yeah. This must have been what Miranda was telling me the day of the battle when I saw her in the woods. She told me to be care so I don't lose what I never even knew was there before it was too late. Honey, she must have heard the baby's heartbeat and figured out that I didn't know yet."

"Yeah. I love you so much. I can't wait to marry you."

"I can't wait either, baby. I love you too."

"And I love our baby. Can't wait to meet him or her."

"I'm pretty sure he or she can't wait to meet us either and loves you very much." I sealed our lips with a kiss before bringing her to sit on the bed and giving her the food to eat.

We went back downstairs to meet everyone else, including the other Silver siblings.

"Mmm-mm, mama's looking hot, though should you be wearing heels?" Rae commented seeing Kiara's outfit.

"I'll be fine, Rae. Even when I broke my ankle I was wearing 7-inch heels. I think I'll be fine in 4-inch ones." Kiara said with a smile. Kara, Korra and their cousins except Miranda looked at us in confusion as though they had been left out on an inside joke.

"I'm sorry, are we missing something here?" Gia said, raising an eyebrow. Kiara raised an eyebrow at her sisters and cousins with a smile hoping they'd catch on.

"No. Really?" The four asked with giant grins on their faces when they finally figured it out.

"Yes, really." She said with laugh. Kara and Korra squealed again and jumped up and down then went over to hug her, almost knocking me down with her since I was holding her. Gia and Garret joined in on the hug.

"Ok, ok, ok. So we not only have to plan for our victory party, but also parties celebrating your engagement and your baby." Kara said excitement.

"Well the victory party has to be here obviously. We'll invite everyone who helped to celebrate with us. We'll just combine the other two and celebrate it at the castle." Korra added.

"Ook, I'll leave you two and Rae right to it. I just need to speak to our cousins. Oh and for the victory party, I suggest another bonfire, but this time with dancing and other party activities like the one Rayla organized when we first came to the pack only way bigger." Kiara suggested.

"You know that's not a bad idea at all. We'll get right on it." Raelynn said.

"Great." Kiara said smiling sarcastically. "Miranda, Gia, Garret, join me in Nick's office, will you? You wouldn't wanna be here when those three start planning. You might go insane." Her sisters and Rae glared at her playfully.

"In that case, please by all means lead the way." Miranda said. Kiara kissed my cheek then went up with her siblings. I looked at the three females planning. Kiara was right, it would drive me insane. I caught Alec's eye and we both came to an agreement.

"Well, as much as I would love to stay here and help plan, Alec and I have some errands to run before night falls." I said.

"Yep, so we best be on our way." Alec said, coming to my side so we could leave. Rae looked at us suspiciously.

"Really? And what errands might that be, if I may ask?" She asked.

"Uh, well, we need to meet with the alphas who help us in the battle to thank them for their help. That and other things."

"Mm... Nick, we set that meeting for tomorrow morning. I know what you two are trying to do and lemme say you two are lousy liars. You're trying to escape like Kiara and the others did. Well, tough luck, you're not going anywhere." Rae said.

"But babe..." Alec started to say.

"No buts. You're helping us plan and that's it." Rae said, gesturing to the couch opposite them. Al and I looked at each other and groaned, going to sit.

"OK so..."

Kiara's P.O.V

"Are you guys sure that this is what you want?" I asked.

"Yeah. Who else is gonna protect them and care for them?" Miranda said.

"Yeah, it's not like they can join any of the existing packs. It may not have been entirely their fault but because of dad, they attacked most of the packs in California and those in other states and countries. Those packs won't accept them." Garret stated.

"You know not all of them will accept the offer to be in a pack of their own. Some wolves don't play well with others and aren't exactly pack animals." I said

"Yeah, we know. But we'll make sure to let them know they can come for help anytime from us. Besides, we can't have all good and no bad, it'd make things boring. Life would be boring and meaningless without someone or something to fight for and against." Gia said with a wink. I chuckled softly and nodded.

"True. So how is it gonna work? You create one giant pack and have yourselves as the leaders?" I asked.

"Something like that. We'll figure it out once we get back." Garret answered.

"Ok. If that's what you really want, then so be it. But don't hesitate to call or come to us, if you ever need something. We are family and we don't turn our backs on each other. Which is why you guys will be expected at my engagement party and my wedding."

"Wouldn't miss it for the world." The three of them said with grins.

"So when are you guys gonna head back?" I asked, getting up from the chair and moving to the other side of the desk.

"We were thinking tonight if that's alright." Miranda replied.

"Oh ok, but be sure to say goodbye before you go." I said.

"Of course." They got up and each hugged me. Just then a knock sounded on the door and Nick entered.

"Hey. Hope I'm not intruding or interrupting." He said.

"Oh no, we were just leaving. We'll see you, Kiara. We're going to see Kara and Korra." With that the three of them left the office leaving only Nick and I.

"Hey, beautiful." He came over and wrapped his arms around my waist while mine went around his neck

"Hey handsome." I pecked his lips with a smile.

"What were you guys talking about?"

"Nothing really. Just telling them to reach out when they need help. They're going back to the rogues, not rogues anymore, tonight."

"Really? Why?"

"Well, if they don't go, who'll protect and care for those who need it? They're gonna form a whole new pack with those who want to be in the pack."

"Oh, that's cool. I hope they're gonna be there for our engagement party and the wedding."

"Yeah, they are. I wouldn't have let them miss it."

"Of course you wouldn't. You know, we haven't really talked about what's gonna happen with the pack after we get married and I become king."

"I'll have to discuss it with the elders and Auriana and Eliara. But we'll figure it out. I guess we'll have to call Nicki to come back." I laughed as Nick groaned at the mention of his sister.

"Can't we just call her when we're done planning and it's time for the engagement party?"

"Yeah, I have no desire to be killed by your twin sister so, no way. Besides she has to bring Jace back to his parents. I'm pretty sure Rae and Al already did the calling for us when I went to shower after I woke."

"Yep. But it's so peaceful here without her." Nick groaned. I laughed and just kissed him.

"I think you'll get your peace back when that niece/nephew of yours is born. Until then, you just gotta suck it up." He pouted at that, making me laugh once again at my cute soon-to-be husband's face.
