My sisters and I were standing by each other in the clearing up north of the pack house, under the bright full moon. We were all garbed in black, in the same outfit and with the same high ponytail hairdo, with the Shadow pack wolves, waiting for Richard and his rogue army. We watched as he walked out of the woods with his daughter and son by his side and his army behind him. I watched as he stepped forward with his arms outstretched and a large smirk on his face.
"Well, if it isn't my darling nieces. Kara, Korra...and Kiara. It's so wonderful to see you three." He said.
"The feeling's not mutual." Kara snarled.
"Oh come now, that's not very nice. We are family after all." He said.
"You ceased to be family the day you started all this nonsense." Korra replied.
"Nonsense? Oh no, no, no. This is justifiable revenge."
"Justifiable? How is any of what you are doing justified? You've hurt and murdered a lot of innocent people including our parents because of that stupid revenge for events that happened years ago. Events that occurred because of you and your mistakes. You would have been King if not for your mistake. Your mistake to go down the wrong path. You had everything but you passed it all up because you wanted power and you wanted people to fear you. You abused your abilities and used them for wrong purposes and yet you wonder why your father chose my father to be King instead of you and why my mother chose my father over you." I said in a calm, quiet, deadly voice. I was boiling with rage but I pushed it down.
"And who told you this story? Your parents, I presume." He asked. I smirked a little.
"Oh, wouldn't you like to know? Tell me if you recognize this name. Auriana." I saw his face pale slightly.
"What? That's impossible, Auriana is dead." He said.
"Oh yeah, that's right. She's supposed to be after you almost killed her. Just like you killed the twins' mother after they were born." Korra taunted. His jaw tensed.
"And why would I kill my own mate?" He asked.
"Which mate? The one you were destined for or the one you chose for her close connection with our mother?" Kara asked.
"Anyway, only you can answer that question."
"Girls, you can still surrender while there's time. Step down as ruler, Kiara and you can be assured I won't harm a single hair on your precious Shadow wolves. Refuse to do so and chaos will reign and my wolves and I will not even have to lift a finger."
"Let's say I refuse, what's going to happen?" I asked with an amused expression.
"I can turn your wolves against you and each other. In case you've forgotten, I'm a telepath and so are my children. We can manipulate any mind as we please." My sisters and I smirked.
"That's a wonderful plan. We would welcome you to try it but we wouldn't want you wasting your energies before the battle even begins." Kara said.
"Oh, Richard. You see, we know all about your abilities and how far they can go so we took precautions. You see after we imprisoned your little spies over there, we began the real training. The mental kind. Plus I had Auriana boost the mental blocking capabilities of every wolf here. But you knew that didn't you? That's why you brought this large army. You knew if you could take the kingdom by us surrendering and resisting mental force then you'd have to use physical force." I said.
"That's right, Your Majesty. I'll give it to you, you have your father's smarts. So what will it be? Should we do this the easy way or the hard way? I suggest the easy way because there's no way you can defeat me with this little army you've gathered here."
"Then maybe we should enlarge our little army, you know, to even the odds a bit." Nick said from behind me. He lifted his head and let out a howl. I turned to see five more packs join us in the clearing and stand with the Shadow wolves. I looked at Nick with a smirk. I had a feeling he would do something like this. "Is it big enough for you now, Richard?" I turned to look back at my psychotic uncle as Nick asked this.
"I underestimated you, Kiara. But you still can't win this. I still outmatch you since between the two of us, my children and your sisters, my children and I are the only ones with special abilities. According to my sources, you have none." He smirked lightly. My sisters and I looked at each other with smirks then back at Richard.
"Is that so? Well, then we'll just have to see about that, won't we?" I said as thunder clapped loudly above us, thunder caused by me and my sisters.
"Just say when, Uncle Richard." Kara, Korra and I said at the same time. Richard threw his head back and howled to his wolves to attack. I nodded at Nick to do same. And so the battle began...
We had been fighting for what seemed like hours. Many on our side had been injured, only Richard's side seemed to be getting losses as his wolves were dropping one by one, while he stood far away from the fight. It just didn't feel right for any of the wolves here to get hurt because of Richard's petty revenge and ambitions, whether they were rogues or not. I hit the wolf I was fighting very hard and pushed him far away from me. I slammed my fists into the ground making it crack and sending a shockwave throughout the whole clearing.
"ENOUGH!!!!" I roared. Everyone stopped fighting and looked at me. "This is getting us nowhere. Wolves are just dying and getting injured and all for what? A fight that's not yours entirely. All this is because of Richard's ambitions and a petty revenge against my family." I directed my next words towards the rogues. "I can assure you, that whatever he promised you was a lie. He has gotten the real revenge he wanted by killing my parents. All he wants now is to be King. He doesn't care about any of you. If he did, then why hasn't he called off this battle, why hasn't he stepped out to fight with you? It's because he's too much off a coward to take me on his own and he doesn't care about you wolves. All he wants is for my sisters and myself to be dead so that he can assume the throne for himself. When that happens, every one of you here will be nothing to him. The only reason you should be fighting is if you have something to fight for and if you have a personal fight with any of these packs. But none of you do, isn't it? You are all here fighting because Richard you to do so, because he manipulated you into thinking that in order to get what you want you have to fight us but that's not true. Now I know some of you are here fighting because you think it's the only way to keep your loved ones safe, because that's what he told you. Well, I am telling you now that you're fighting for the wrong cause. This isn't your cause, it's his. It's a wrong and stupid cause because you're not getting anything out of this. He's just using you to get what he wants."
"Don't listen to her. Anyone will say what they can just to survive. She doesn't care about you. She's only saying all this just so she and her sisters can live. When you were all struggling, who was it that provided for you? Was it the queen or me? She does not care. She never lifted a hand to help any of you and she never will." Richard said
"That's because that's what you made them believe, dad." Garret said. Richard turned to face his son in surprise. "She never helped them because she didn't know about their struggles. Because you kept all of them from going to her for help just so you can take the throne for yourself and have your revenge against Uncle Reginald's family."
"You never cared about any of us. Not even your own children. Because if you did, you would be letting any of us fight this stupid battle of yours. You don't care about anyone but yourself. But they do. Kiara and her sisters care for everyone. All those weeks we were in their cells, they made sure we were well fed, well cared for and treated even after all we had done for you. Kiara could have decided to keep us locked up and to forget about us but she didn't. She let us go free even though it was justified that we be there. But did you do? Hmm? You did nothing. You didn't even bother to come for us because it was imperative that we stay there and find out what we can for your plans to work. You even attacked Garret for telling the truth behind mom's disappearance. What kind of a father and a leader does that make you? For risking the lives of many wolves here all for your evil ambitions. You are nothing but a monster who deserves to die." Gia said.
"If you truly believe that and they're not making you say it then why are you fighting on my side?" Richard sneered.
"That's because they're not, dad." Miranda said, coming from the woods behind us. "You've been hiding far away from the fight to realize they actually switched sides the minute the battle began. Now what kind of a leader does not fight for the cause he has his followers believing in unless the cause he has put forth to his followers is false? Unless all that he has promised them are lies." All the rogue wolves turned to their leader to see him at loss for words due to being caught in his lie.
"So all they're saying is true? You've had us believing in a lie and fighting for lies for years." One of the rogue wolves yelled in anger. All the rogue wolves turned to Richard and started stalking towards him. I roared to tell them to back off.
"He's ours." My sisters and I said. He began laughing manically.
"You three think you can take me on with no abilities." He began to emit electricity all over his body. "I have one more ability that I rarely use so it's a bit wild when I feel I'm being threatened." He said with a dark smirk.
"And who said we don't have abilities of our own?" Kara asked. Thunder rolled through the sky as the clouds began to gather and lightening streamed through the sky. Richard looked at us in confusion as his smirk dropped.
"I control the weather." Korra said.
"I control the elements." Kara said.
"And I control... all of them." I said. The wind began to pick up.
"Now what was that you said about us being no match for you?" I mind-linked Nick and Miranda to get everyone clear and away from us so they don't get hurt.
"And those are not our only abilities. We can also combine our forms into one being. Why do you think we don't use our abilities much?" The three of us said simultaneously.
"I'm gonna call your bluff on the last ability. No one can do that. Not even your father and I could do that and we were both prodigies with our abilities."
"Wanna bet? Watch us." Korra said.
"The strength of evil is as good as none when stands before three hearts as one." The three of us muttered under our breath. Before everyone's eyes, my sisters and I combine our forms into one being, thereby also combining our abilities and doubling it.
"No. It can't be." Richard said in disbelief as he shot electricity at us. We raised the ground to shield us and absorb the energy. We then sent a boulder towards him which destroyed with his electricity. We deflected each other's blows for a while till we were able to catch him off guard and hit him to the ground. We encased his hands and feet in stone to the ground and brought him up to his knees. "Please don't kill me. Have mercy."
"Mercy? You showed our parents no mercy when you ripped out their hearts, when you killed your children's mother, when you almost killed Auriana in that accident years." We said in a distorted conjoined voice.
"You don't deserve any mercy, dad because you have never shown any towards your victims. And that's why you die today." Miranda said as she came to stand beside us with her siblings.
"No, please. I am your father, your uncle, your family." Richard pleaded.
"You were never any of those, dad. Not to us, not to them and certainly not to anyone." Garret said.
"Goodbye, dad. Have fun in the afterlife." Gia said, then stepped forward to snap her father's neck. Richard's body went limp and dropped to the ground when we released his hands and feet. Miranda then stretched her hands and set his body on fire. My sisters and I separated then into our individual forms. I nodded at Miranda and her siblings and smiled. I got light headed all of a sudden and began bleeding from my nose. I began to lose consciousness and balance. I could hear people calling out my name before I fell to the ground unconscious.
