Chapter 20
Librin lies floating in darkness. No dreams perturbed his slumber: No screams of pain, no possible futures, and no visions of her. He floated in the void, endlessly drifting onward. He looked to his wrist and saw the stone glowing a dim gold, before it switched to a bright red, and light washed over his vision.
When he opened his eyes, he saw Saiji entering his room. He looked back at the bracelet and saw no difference in its pale white color. Saiji knocked on the door softly, âLibrin? Are you awake?â Librin hopped to his feet and put his sword onto his hip once more, and began sorting items on his desk. âDo you need something, Saiji?â his voice cold and emotionless. Saiji closed the door, âAiria wanted me to come and wake you. We found a ruin in the wastes of Earth, and we are all planning to investigate it. It seems to have survived whatever destroyed all else. It could be something from the Lord.â Librin dropped the item he was holding and looked over at Saiji, âSomething is still there? I thought everything was destroyed?â Saiji fidgeted with an orb of fire he was attempting to discreetly hide behind his back. He looked away slightly, âThat and the Parthenon is all that is leftâ¦â A heavy silence fell over the room. Librin placed the item he dropped hard on his desk and walked to the door. âAlright, letâs go. Better not to stall.â Saiji nodded his head and walked behind him into the hallway. Saiji began leading him towards the conference room as Librin fell into thought. He was mixed with a sense of fear and excitement. Anything that couldâve survived his power must be divine in origin. That, though, could be great or terrible for him. It could provide the group a sense of direction and possibly help restore the world. Yet it could end up with him being revealed to be the person who caused it all. Either way, he would have to take it one step at a time.

Saiji stopping at a large set of doors, shook Librin out of his thoughts. Saiji opened the doors, and they both walked into the room. Some members of the group, located in the middle of the room, looked at Librin for a second before quickly averting their gaze. Librin walked to the giant table and looked at the 3D map representing the universe. The entire map was empty except for two small buildings. Airia cleared her voice, âAlright, now that Librin is here, we should head out. We will head out in two groups. One to investigate the ruin where Earth was and...â She paused for a second, âOne to visit the second ruin.â She swallowed and continued, âLibrin and I will go to the first ruin, and we need at least one Earth Elemental in each group; other than that, you can choose where you want to go.â There was a small murmur of discussion, a few bickering voices, and eventually, the groups were made. The group visiting the mysterious ruin was Librin, Airia, Saiji, the darker-skinned Earth Elemental Deme, the Water Elemental Canser, and the third Air Elemental Gemina. While the rest of the Elementals went to the other ruin. Librin had no complaints about not going to the Parthenon. He didnât want to be there anyway.
