There was a certain way you whispered
'Radha'
In my ears
That took my breath away, Krishna.
It would make me numb
Leave me in a daze
Keep me in a trance
Ecstasy;
Was that what if feels like?
I chuckle
Who knows, maybe
I invented ecstasy?
I recall
A day before Mathura happened
We sat under the bower
On a certain gentle night
You had
Played a sweet melody
And laid your head on my lap.
"Dhara"
You had said.
I remember giggling.
"That's not my name" I say.
"It is who you are" you say, with a quiet, Krishna smile.
"You are like the flow of a serene waterfall
Unending
Eternal
Infinite;
Your name shall resonate
In every nook of Vrindavana
Age after age.
A woman of your poise
Shall never be forgotten."
The universe's magic
Or your usual pastime,
I know not
But my name remains in Vrindavana still.
In greetings, in temples, in hearts
I am housed still.
Perhaps they
Do not care about those big books at all.
I have continued living
Because of those who do not care,
Krishna.
I throw my head back and laugh maniacally.
