Chapter 97 - Reaching an agreement

A sign for suspension of business was hung on the door of a pub, which seemed to be more mysterious at night. People passing by glanced at it because it was incongruous to hang that sign at peak times.

Chen Qian stopped at the entrance of the pub and pulled her peaked cap to cover her face.

Seeing that no one noticed her, Chen Qian stepped into the pub.

Then she looked around.

She saw that Wen Yunfeng was having a drink leisurely in a corner, but his eyes stared straight ahead.

Obviously, Wen Yunfeng also saw Chen Qian.

Chen Qian smiled politely and then walked toward Wen Yunfeng.

“You are quite cautious.” Chen Qian said and pulled her mask lower to expose her mouth only. She looked around from time to time to avoid being recognized by others.

“I know that you will be interested to my invitation, but it seems that you are a coward.” Wen Yunfeng joked.

Chen Qian didn’t care about his joking. She ordered a beer, and blew to warm her fingers.

“Well, don’t make fun of me. You are bold, but you still need to ask me for help.” Chen Qian said in a flat voice.

Hearing this, Wen Yunfeng touched his nose and smiled embarrassedly.

“I know that you love Mo Yichen so much. Otherwise, you will not come here.”

Wen Yunfeng wanted to guess why Chen Qian agreed to cooperate with him.

Chen Qian frowned slightly. She was disgusted with Wen Yunfeng’s attempt to figure out her intentions.

“You said very clearly on the phone. We just cooperated with each other to get what we wanted, so it was unnecessary for you to know why I cooperated with you.”

Chen Qian didn’t want to talk about that. She was unwilling to admit that she loved Mo Yichen but was refused because of Gu Yan whom she looked down upon and hated.

“Okay, okay! Miss Chen is really unusual and only you can be with Mo Yichen.” Wen Yunfeng flattered.

“Well, what’s your plan?”

Chen Qian didn’t want to speak more and asked directly.

Wen Yunfeng cleared his throat.

“We can set a trap which can not only make Mo Yichen dislike Gu Yan but make Gu Yan completely disappointed with Mo Yichen. Once there are contradictions between them, we will have chances.”

Chen Qian was a little unhappy because in Wen Yunfeng’s mind, Mo Yichen and Gu Yan had affections to each other.

She took out a cigarette and a lighter from her coat. Then she lit the cigarette deftly.

Chen Qian’s expression seemed to be mysterious in the smog.

She was a little angry. Mo Yichen knew Gu Yan later, but now Gu Yan was more important in Mo Yichen’s heart.

Wen Yunfeng paid attention to Chen Qian’s silence.

“What’s wrong? Do you have a better idea?”

“Your plan seems to be so ignoble.” Chen Qian changed the topic for fear that Wen Yunfeng knew what she was thinking.

Wen Yunfeng sneered, “Ignoble? You also got in Gu Yan’s way furtively. Why are you so upright now?”

Chen Qian smiled bitterly and gulped down the beer in the cup.

“Go ahead.”

“We can plan an adultery to ruin Gu Yan’s reputation. Then Mo Yichen will certainly think that Gu Yan is a dissolute woman and dislike her naturally. At this time, I go to save and comfort Gu Yan. Don’t you think this is a perfect plan?”

Thinking of the plan, Wen Yunfeng was excited with his hands overlapping.

Chen Qian couldn’t believe that Wen Yunfeng would do anything to achieve his goal. Gu Yan was his ex-wife whom he wanted to retain, but he should ruin her reputation now.

Chen Qian looked at Wen Yunfeng thoughtfully.

“How about it?” Wen Yunfeng asked.

“Why do you think that Mo Yichen will give up Gu Yan? She had a bad reputation now and everyone said that she had relationships with many men. But Mo Yichen treated her whole-heartedly.” Chen Qian said.

At this moment, Chen Qian saw a waiter who took another bottle of beer for her, so she quickly pulled the mask to cover her face and then lowered her head.

Thus, the waiter couldn’t saw Chen Qian’s face clearly in the dim light.

After the waiter went away, Wen Yunfeng said again.

“No man will accept a dissolute woman.”

Then he changed the drink in front of him into beer. Wen Yunfeng knew about it because he himself was no exception.

At first, he misunderstood that Gu Yan was dissolute and had relationship with other men, so he couldn’t accept her and insulted her.

“I and Gu Yan had deep affections before, but now we were just like strangers.”

“And you have been with Mo Yichen for so many years. According to your knowledge about him, you can guess whether he will accept Gu Yan or not if she had relationships with other men.” Wen Yunfeng said.

Chen Qian nodded, “Well, it seems that you are quite sure about that. What should I do?”

“I will arrange everything. What you need to do is only to take Mo Yichen to the scene and let him see that Gu Yan was raped.”

Wen Yunfeng stopped his recalling and said.

“Wen Yunfeng, I never thought that you were a man who was extremely tricky and merciless.” Chen Qian suddenly sneered.

“I?” Wen Yunfeng stunned and then waved his hand.

“Everyone can be an evildoer. I just showed my evil side to you, so I am an honest man to a large extent, aren’t I?”

Chen Qian couldn’t tell whether Wen Yunfeng was serious or joking, so she shrugged without saying anything and gulped down the beer.

“Well, that’s settled then. Hope to have a good cooperation with you and get what we wanted.”

Chen Qian shook hand with Wen Yunfeng first, representing that they reached an agreement.

Wen Yunfeng shook Chen Qian’s hand slightly without hesitation.

Then they said goodbye to each other.

Chen Qian went out and pulled the clothes to keep warm, which actually made her relieved and gave her a sense of security.

There were still many people passing by, but nobody noticed that Chen Qian left as if she had never been here.

Seeing that Chen Qian went away, Wen Yunfeng who still sat in the corner smiled and nodded with satisfaction.
