Gemma lounges on one of the chairs in the library, her sunglasses resting on the bridge of her nose as she watches the man fling books in every which direction. "Do you want some help?" She offers, looking down at her nails boredly when he glances at her. "Because I could call someone."
"You're a dick," Damon says simply.
"I learned from the best," she flashes him her teeth.
"So," he drags out the word, sending his sister an innocent smile.
Gemma straightens up, pushing her sunglasses into her unruly hair. Her eyes narrow into slits and she leans forward, "what did you do?"
"I set you upâ"
"No!" She exclaims.
"âon a dateâ"
"You bastard!"
"It's at The Grill!" He dodges a book that Gemma tries to throw at him, his hands up in surrender as he tries to calm the female Salvatore. "Listen, listenâ" he sends her a scolding look.
Gemma tenses, book still in hands and stares at her brother with a dark expression, deciding to give him a chance to explain before she lunges.
"She's a really nice girl, I think you'll like her," a secret expression crosses Damon's face. "I think she'd be really good for you, Gem."
Gemma clenches her jaw and slumps back in her chair, folding her arms across her abdomen. "I'll go," she sulks. "But never again."
Damon smirks, "if you like her, I won't have to set you up again."
"Where'd you even meet her?"
Damon smiles nervously, "about thatâ"
Stefan's loud, disruptive footsteps enter the library and the two eldest siblings look up at the sound, Damon continuing to shuffle around while Gemma sinks further into her chair.
"What are you looking for, Damon?"
"Not your concern," the man mutters.
"No, but you two putting Elena in harms way, is my concern."
Gemma raises her eyebrows, "us? Dude, if you told her the truth instead of acting like somebody off of dateline, she never would've been on the road that night."
Stefan glowers, "Atlanta never should've happened, Gemma. You should've brought her home, or back to me."
Gemma laughs dryly, sitting up and trying her elbows on her legs. "Back to you? Last I checked, she didn't want anything to do with you, little brother. That's why she came with me."
"I get it," Stefan starts, a smug smile gracing his lips. "You're just bitter because one of us gets to be with the person we love, and your little fling Katherine is just out of reach."
Gemma blinks, "you're acting like I was in love with the girl. We slept together, Stefan. Not everybody needs undying love to have sex, virgin Mary."
Stefan aims his gaze toward Damon, "is there a way to get into that tomb? Is that what Bree said?"
"You're pathetic when you're fishing," Damon fires back.
"And you're transparent when you're deflecting."
"Don't you have school?"
Gemma hums, "tell Elena I said hello."
She wiggles her fingers at a brooding Stefan while he turns to leave, a sick satisfaction rising in her chest at the sight of her brothers bitterness.

After being scolded by Damon for not wearing color and looking like a female version of Dracula, Gemma walks into The Grill with a light gray sweater and jeans, her fingers twitching uncomfortably at her sides. Blonde, curly hair, dresses odd, she notes from what Damon told her. Her eyes catch a bubbly looking girl sitting in a booth in the corner, her brown eyes gazing at Gemma excitedly.
Gemma laughs to herself, shuffling over to the girl a tight smile. "Hi," she clears her throat, sliding into the seat opposite the girl. The female Salvatore lets her eyes linger over the blonde woman's outfit, a small smile gracing her lips. "Cute style."
"Thanks!" The woman chirps. "I'm Willow, but you can call me whatever you'd like."
Gemma widens her eyes, her lips parting in shock.
"No, Iâ" Willow covers her mouth with her palms, her eyes mirroring the vampire's. "Not like that, I just meantâ"
"I know what you meant," Gemma snickers, drumming her fingertips across the top of the table. She glances around The Grill, her chest seizing when she meets the eyes of Elena Gilbert, the human looking unsettled as she stares at Gemma and the blonde. "I'm Gemma," the dark haired girl introduces herself, her attention straying from the Gilbert.
"Nice to meet you," Willow grins. "I was looking forward to seeing you, although The Grill is an odd place for a session."
Gemma stares at the blonde blankly, "huh?"
Willow cocks her head to the side, "we all have our comfort zones, I suppose. If this is where you feel most open, that's fine."
A loud laugh bubbles up in Gemma's chest, her eyes crinkling at the sides as she takes in the confused expression gracing the woman's face. "I can't believeâ" Gemma breathes. "You're a shrink, aren't you?"
Willow pauses, "did you not know?"
"No, Iâ" Gemma flushes. "My brother, the idiot, told me he set me up on a date."
Willow leans back, amusement flashing across her eyes as she lets out a breathy laugh. "Oh, my God," she gapes. "This hasâ this has never happened before."
Gemma shrugs, "the idea was alright for a while."
The vampire goes to stand but Willow lurches forward, wrapping her fingers around Gemma's thin wrist. The blonde looks up at her softly, "getting help isn't a bad thing, Gemma. Just because this isn't a date doesn't mean it won't be beneficial."
Gemma stares down at the girl with her lips pressed together, but it's not long before she hears a chair across the The Grill harshly screeching across the floor. The Salvatore looks up just in time to see Elena fleeing quickly, the girl emitting obvious signs of distress. "Um," Gemma shakes her head. "I have to, um, I need to go."
"I expect a phone call soon, Gemma!" Willow calls to the woman when she starts rushing away from their booth.
"Yeah, yeah," Gemma waves her off over her shoulder. She yanks the door to The Grill open and breezes outside, not expecting Elena to be lingering outside by the entrance. She slams straight into the girl, grabbing Elena by the arms to stable her.
Elena removes herself from Gemma's grip, "who's that girl?"
Gemma peers down at the teenager, "woman."
The human scowls, "okay, who's that woman?"
The female Salvatore hums, a small smile causing her lips to twitch upward. If she didn't know better, she'd say the human was jealous. Gemma wouldn't allow herself to entertain that idea, though. Not yet.
"We were just talking," Gemma confesses.
"I never thought you were one for dating," Elena says quietly.
Gemma shrugs, "I allow myself to indulge sometimes."
Elena folds her arms across her chest, "what's her name?"
"For God's sake," Gemma laughs, wrapping an arm around Elena's shoulder and steering the human away from The Grill whenever a group of people swarm the side walk. "Come on, it's getting late."
"You don't have to walk me to my car," Elena tenses. "I'm sure she's waiting for you."
"Don't worry, peach," Gemma taunts her gently. "She can wait."
Elena huffs whenever the shrill sound of her phone rings in the air, the human stopping in her tracks to dig through her bag in order to find the device. "Hello?" She answers.
"Hello, Elena," the unfamiliar voice greets darkly.
Gemma furrows her eyebrows, moving closer to the human as her eyes dart around the parking lot of The Grill.
"Hey, who's this?"
"You hit me with your car."
The female Salvatore nods to herself before reaching around Elena and grabbing the girl's bag, while plucking the keys out of the Gilbert's hands. She works on quickly unlocking Elena's car while the human stays on the phone.
"Is that a new one?"
"Gemma, he's here," Elena panics, clutching the back of the woman's sweater in her free hand.
"You got away from me," he says lowly. "You won't next time."
Gemma finally gets the door open and throws herself into the car, her wide eyes meeting those of Elena while the human stalls. "What are you doing?" She reaches over and wraps her arms around Elena's waist, hauling the girl over her and forcing her into the passenger seat. "Hold on, peach. We're getting the hell out of here."
â¢â¢â¢
It's later on, after slapping Damon around so much he was seeing stars, that Gemma musters up the courage to dial Willow's number. She stands on the balcony attached to her room with shaking hands, her stomach coiling into tight knots while she waits for the shrink to answer.
"Hi, this is Dr. Willow, can I help you?"
"You sounded a lot more peppier in person," Gemma voices.
"Gemma!" Willow cheers, the grin evident in her voice. "How are you?"
"Well, I'm calling you, so obviously not good."
"Nice one," Willow giggles. "Did you call to set up an appointment?"
"No," Gemma scowls to herself. Of course she didn't want to set up an appointment. In what world did she need help? In what world did she want help, and actually get to do something about it? "I don't, um, I'm fine."
Willow hums, "it's great that you're fine, Gemma. That's amazing. I knew straight away when we met that your mental state was better than most."
"What?" Gemma splutters out a laugh, "what the hell gave you that impression?"
"Just the way you act. You seem so sure of yourself, and like you have everything figured out."
"I do not," the vampire says defensively. "I do not have everything figured out, Willow."
"No?"
"No!" Gemma snaps, "no, I don't. I never have. Like, ever. I've never been my own person with my own ideas."
"Wow," Willow breathes. "You're already opening up, it's incredible."
Gemma pauses for a short second before gasping, a scandalous expression washing over her face. "I can't believe you," she cries. "You manipulated me."
"I reverse psychology-d you," Willow corrects.
"That's not a word," Gemma grumbles.
"So," Willow begins. "When would you like to schedule your appointment?"
The Salvatore falls silent, not replying.
"In exactly a week, say around 9am? Is that good for you, Gemma?"
Gemma makes a soft sound of agreement, not being able to find her voice beneath the emotion swelling in her chest.
"See you then, Gemma!"
The Salvatore ends the call and releases a heavy breath, shuffling back into her room. Her eyes slip closed when she hears Damon mumbling to himself from a few rooms down, his words unintelligible. Gemma, being the adoring sister she is, makes her way out of hers and toward Damon's; hearing the man's words get louder the closer she gets. "Are you talking to yourself?" She asks, leaning against the threshold of the door. "Are you sure you don't need the shrink?"
He smiled sheepishly, "how'd that go?"
Gemma shrugs, "I have an appointment next week."
Damon looks taken aback, "really? Gem, that's great."
"Yeah, well, don't get ahead of yourself," she snorts. "It's just experimental."
Damon nods, his hand falling down to his pocket when a shrill ringing starts. He pulls the phone out of his pocket and rolls his eyes, "Elena's calling Stefan."
Gemma shuffles further into the room, "why do you have Stefan's phone?"
"I stole it," Damon says simply. He tosses it to Gemma and gives her a knowing look.
"Stefan's phone," Gemma drawls. "How can I help you, peach?"
"Where is he?"
"He's on his way to youâ" she shoots a look to Damon. "He lost his phone."
"Oh, thank God," Elena sighs in relief. "This compass was spinning. Stefan must be here. Thank you, Gem."
"Mhm, you're welcome."
"...Bye, Gemma."
Gemma scoffs out a laugh and hangs up the phone, tossing it back to Damon with a shake of her head. At her brother's scandalized look, she throws herself onto his bed and buries her face into a pillow.
"My little peach," Damon mocks her. "So pure and precious, soâ"
"Shut the hell up," Gemma grumbles. "It's not like that."
"Isn't it?"
Gemma sits up, folding her legs in front of her as she glowers at her brother. She knew he was mocking her, only making fun; but the seriousness of the situation is this: she definitely has a soft spot for Elena and the human definitely cannot find out.
"No, it's not," Gemma argues. "She's one human in a tiny blip of the forever that I'll be alive. It's nothing to me."
Damon visibly relents, "fine, okay. It's nothing."
â¢â¢â¢
Gemma leans against Elena's living room window, her arms crossed tightly over her abdomen as her chest tightens. She shoots a wary glance at Elena when the girl shifts closer to Stefan, the human obviously frightened at the nights events.
"How did he get in?" Damon questions, his pacing coming to a stop next to Gemma.
"He was invited in," Elena whispers.
Gemma closes her eyes, leaning her head back against the window. "That'sâ" she inhales. "That changes things."
"He posed as the pizza delivery guy last night," Stefan continues.
"Well, he gets points for that," Damon says sarcastically.
Gemma slaps him on the stomach, cutting her eyes at him. She aims her gaze back at Elena, taken aback when she sees the human's stare already on her. "He didn't say what he wanted, did he?"
"No," Elena deadpans. "He was too busy trying to kill me."
"Peach is a little sour tonight," Gemma muses. "Got it."
Stefan shoots Gemma a dark look before leaning forward, resting his elbows on his knees. "And we have no idea who this is?"
The female Salvatore furrows her eyebrows, "you don't thinkâ?"
"You think there's more than one?" Elena blurts out, panicked.
"We don't know," Damon admits.
Gemma moves forward and sits on the arm of the couch, resting her hands in her lap. She peers down at Elena and gives the girl a reassuring smile.
"Guys, he was invited in," Stefan emphasizes.
"Then we get him tonight," Damon says. He glances at Elena, "you up for it?"
"What do I have to do?"
"Let your boyfriend take you to the dance, we'll see who shows up."
"That's a bad idea," Stefan chimes in.
"Till we get him, this house isn't safe. For anyone who lives in it. It's worth a shot."
"I'll do it," Elena interrupts their argument. "I'll be with the three of you, I'll be fine."
"Uh," Gemma stands from the couch, facing the trio with raised eyebrows. "About thatâ"
"You're coming," Damon says blankly.
"I don't do school dances."
"Maybe because you're not in the spirit," Elena looks the girl up and down, motioning to her back sweater and leggings. "You're literally in pajamas."
"It's night time," Gemma snaps, defensive over her clothes. "What did you expect me to be wearing?"
Elena shrugs, "not that."
"I feel very offended right now, I can'tâ"
"I have the perfect outfit for you to wear," Elena grins, her eyes crinkling. "Come on!"
"No, wait, pleaseâ"
Damon snickers, shoving his little sister closer to Elena whenever the human tries to grab the vampires wrist to tug her upstairs.
"I hate you," Gemma hisses to Damon as they pass him.
"Be quick, you don't wanna be late for the dance, Gem!"
â¢â¢â¢
Gemma stands between her two brothers, her eyebrows pinched together as she takes in the scene before her. Pimple-faced, hormonal teenagers awkwardly bouncing on their feet while shooting their significant others longing glances. Definitely not what the female Salvatore thought she'd be doing when she transitioned into a vampire.
Her eyes move from the groups of teenagers to Elena and her friends, Gemma's dark eyes narrowing at the knowing look Caroline sends her.
"Having fun?" Elena's question causing both Caroline and Gemma to look toward the girl, the Salvatore being subtle in her eavesdropping.
"No, but this took about two hours, so I'm at least staying half of that."
The two girls burst into giggles but Bonnie stays silent. Whenever the dark skinned girl glances at she and her siblings, Gemma quickly looks away, clearing her throat awkwardly.
"What's Damon doing here? And Gemma?" The Bennett asks, her tone flat.
"They wanted to come," Elena says. "Damon will behave, I promise."
"So, what is this, like, a threesome now? You, Stefan and Gemma? She's been staring for like, eons, Elena."
Gemma coughs loudly, attempting to turn and leave the gym, but being stopped by her older brother. She gives him a glare and puts up a half-ass struggle, not wanting to draw attention to them.
"No, of course not!" Elena exclaims, her eyes wide. "I'm with Stefan. Gemma and Iâ we, we're just friends, Caroline."
"Don't get your panties in a twist," Damon murmurs.
"Let go of me, youâ you heathen," Gemma twists in his grasp.
"Come on, let's go spike the punch."
Gemma stills, contemplating it before nodding. The female Salvatore flashes a small smile to Elena in passing, the human having been on her way to the youngest of the siblings. Gemma moves away from Damon's side as they appalachian Bonnie and Caroline, the woman shivering at the intense gaze on her. "Hello, Caroline," she finally deadpans. "Something I can help you with?"
"No," she grins.
"Hi, Bonnie," Damon chirps, a sadistic smile gracing his lips. "Wanna dance?"
"I'm out of here," the dark skinned girl scoffs. She tries to walk past Damon but he blocks her way, waving Gemma off when the dark haired girl straightens up.
"Please give me another chance," he pouts.
Bonnie rolls her eyes and forcefully pushes past him, leaving the two Salvatore siblings alone with Caroline.
"Back off, Damon," she grumbles before following in Bonnie footsteps.
Gemma shakes her head at her brothers actions, giving him a dark stare. "You cannot be related to me." At his offended look, she crosses her arms. "You're harassing teenage girls, Damon. They're children."
"Oh, come on, it's all fun and games, Gem," he whines.
Gemma continues gazing at him, not blinking. "We both know fun and games can go a little too far, sometimes."
Realization dawns on the vampire and he nods, his shoulders slumping in defeat. Before he can make a move to say, what Gemma assumes would be an apology, Elena and Stefan trudge over; the couple not looking the least bit happy.
"Where did they go?" Elena asks.
"I don't know," Damon shrugs.
"What did you say to them?" Stefan demands.
"I was perfectly polite," Damon pauses for a short second before smirking. "Elena, would you like to dance?"
"I would love to," she smiles softly. Her eyes dart to Gemma before she turns to Stefan, holding out her hand. "May I have this dance?" Whenever her boyfriend accepts her hand, she shoots the eldest Salvatore sibling a smug smile.
Damon sighs heavily, "well, see where that got me? Wounded pride, and all because I was trying to force you to make a move."
"What?" Gemma gapes, "what the hell is wrong with you?"
"I'm your wing...brother, Gemma!" He argues, "this is what I'm here for."
"Absolutely not," she hisses. "I've already got enough pressure with Willow, I don't need Elena Gilbert too."
Damon wiggles his eyebrows, "you're on a first name basis already?"
"She's my shrink," the woman says dryly.
"You're gonna throw this shrink thing up in my face for the rest of eternity, aren't you?"
"No shit. I've been alive for almost two centuries and I've never needed help. Then you decideâ"
"Yes, I decided to get you help," Damon turns to her, desperate for her to understand. "Because you're my baby sister and I've watched you carry a burden that's not yours to carry for almost all of two hundred years. Let go of his sins, Gemma," he nearly begs. "They're not yours to repent for."
"Sâstop," Gemma pleads, her breath caught in her throat. "Stop, please, not here."
Damon peers down at her, a frown gracing his lips. "Then where?"
"A school dance is not the place," she snaps.
"Hi," an unfamiliar voice pipes up from behind them.
Gemma looks over her shoulder, offering a strained smile to the blue eyed man looking at she and Damon. She turns to him fully and waits for him to speak, side eyeing Damon whenever he idles up to her side and gives the man the same look.
"I don't recognize either of you. How'd you get roped into chaperoning? Alaric Saltzman, the new history teacher."
Gemma makes a sound of recognition and nods.
"The cursed faculty position," Damon jokes.
"So I've been told."
"Damon Salvatore, this is my sister Gemma."
Gemma smiles awkwardly again whenever the man glances at her.
"Salvatore, as in, Stefan?"
"He's our little brother," Damon offers. "I'm his legal guardian, hence the chaperone. Gemma, she just tagged along for the alcohol in the punch."
Alaric raises his eyebrows, laughing whenever Gemma mutters a quiet, "he's not wrong" under her breath.
"I hear that Stefan's very bright, not that I've had a chance to see that for myself."
"Well, his attendance record is a little spotty. Family drama."
"No parents?"
"Mm, it's just the three of us now."
"You, uh, you guys have lived here your whole lives?"
"On and off, travel a bit."
"Really where? Around the states?"
Damon and Gemma share a look before leveling the man with a suspicious look.
"I'm sorry, I'm nosy," Alaric laughs. "I don't mean to pry. Look, it was nice meeting you guys."
"You too."
"Enjoy the rest of the dance," he pats Damon on the arm and flashes Gemma a grin before stalking off,
leaving the two siblings to fester in their thoughts.
"Is it just me, orâ"
"No, he's definitely fishing," Gemma cuts him off.
"Wanna find out if he caught anything?"
Gemma's lips twitch upwards into a smirk, "I could use a little mischief."
â¢â¢â¢
Gemma was nursing her third cup of punch when Stefan grabbed her by the upper arm, ripping her away from the refreshments table and causing her drink to spill on the floor. "Dude, whatâ" she glances up and sees his panicked look, her stomach lurching. "What?"
"I think he got Elena alone somewhere," he speaks quietly as they weave through the crowd of students, Stefan grabbing Damon in passing as well. "We've got to find her."
"Okay, well justâ" Gemma wrestles her arm out of Stefan's grip and squints, listening intently for any sign of the girl. She hears a familiar shriek and she tenses up, giving Stefan a small nod. "Got her," and without waiting for her brother, she's using her supernatural speed to make her way to the girl's side.
Gemma bursts into the cafeteria and grabs the vampire attacking Elena, her hands wrapping around the collar of his jacket. She tosses him to the floor and goes to lunge but Damon's hands stop her, the oldest Salvatore yanking her to his side as Stefan tends to Elena.
"Hey, dickhead," Damon calls. "Nobody wants to kill you. We just wanna talk."
Gemma feels it before it happens and her hand twitches, grabbing the stake from Damon's and lurching in front of Elena just in time for the culprit to impale himself on the stake. He grunts and falls to his knees, glaring up at Gemma when she kneels to his level, bracing herself with a hand on his shoulder.
"Well," she pushes the stake in deeper. "I wanna kill you. They just wanna talk."
"Screw you," he grins through bloody teeth.
Gemma tightens her grip on his shoulder and twists the stake, making sure she angles it just right so that a throaty groan rips from his throat.
"Wrong answer," Stefan says. "Why are you doing this?"
"Because it's fun."
Gemma shoves the stake in deeper, gritting her teeth whenever his blood pools out and coats her hand. She wouldn't, couldn't see the look on Elena's face. She knew the girl wouldn't think highly of her after this; not that it should matter.
"What do you want with Elena?" Stefan questions.
"She looks like Katherine."
"You knew Katherine?" Damon breathes.
"Oh," the man mocks. "You thought you were the only ones," he laughs. "You don't even remember me."
Damon shuffles closer and leans over the vampire threateningly, "Tell me how to get in the tomb."
"No."
Gemma, seeing her brothers expression, digs the stake in more deeply. Her eyes lift to meet Damon's and she nods.
"The grimoire," he finally confesses.
"Where is it?"
At the vampire's resistance, Gemma lets out a heavy sigh before ripping the stake out of his abdomen. Damon begins to protest and Stefan pushes Elena back as Gemma stands. She gives the trio a blank look before driving the stake into the vampire's heart, letting out a tantalizing gasp as she feels it scrape the side of his heart. "You feel that?" She muses, "does that feel good to you?"
"Check the journal," he finally caves. "The journal. Johnathan's journal. Johnathan Gilbert's."
"Who else is working with you?" Stefan demands to know.
The man falls silent and Damon repeats his brothers question, "Who else is there?"
"No," he shakes his head. "You're gonna have to kill me."
Gemma looks up at her siblings and Stefan nods in agreement, wrapping his arm around Elena. The female Salvatore gives the girl a sad smile, her lips parting as she fails to give some kind of explanation. Elena beats her to it, silently giving Gemma reassurance by nodding.
Gemma pulls the stake back a few inches and angles it toward his heart, plunging it in deeper and meeting the man's eyes as his skin grays. She stands up and lets his body fall limp to the ground, her head snapping up at the sound of a door slamming closed at the end of the hallway.
"Go," Stefan tells his two siblings. "I got this."
Damon and Gemma walk out of the cafeteria and down the hallway, the female Salvatore elbowing her brother whenever they see Alaric Saltzman ducking around the corner. Damon uses his vampire speed to get to the man while Gemma walks calmly to them, arching an eyebrow at the history teacher when he flashes them a nervous smile. "Hey," he greets.
"What were you doing?" Damon compels.
"Looking for Ms. Hilden," he replies.
"Why are you in Mystic Falls?"
"I got a job as a teacher."
"Do you know what my sister I are?"
Alaric glances between the two siblings, "You're my student's siblings."
"Is everything you're telling me the truth?"
"Yes."
"Then forget we had this conversation."
Damon walks away, Gemma trudging down the hallway behind him with slow footsteps. He looks over his shoulders and meets her eyes, shaking his head with a sarcastic look.
"I feel like that's gonna be a problem soon," she tells him.
"You and me both, little sister."
â¢â¢â¢
Gemma stands at the sides of both her brothers, her eyes flicking between them while they lean against opposite sides of the doorway.
"There's no way that idiot was workin' alone," Damon mutters.
"You are," Stefan shoots. "Mostly." He side eyes Gemma before speaking again, "So the grimoire...that was Emily's, right? That's what you need to reverse the spell. When the founding families burned her, they took her things, and you were hoping that dad's journal would tell you where it is.
"Look at you puttin' the pieces together," Damon looks amused. "Good for you. I was half-right. Well, it's out there now. Let the games begin."
"My offer still stands."
"Yeah, with some hidden caveats, no doubt."
"No," Stefan denies. "Nothing hidden about it. No lies. No deception. I'm there when you open up that tomb, you and Katherine go, and the other 26 vampires die."
Gemma straightens up, surprised her younger brother is finally agreeing with Damon's plan.
"If I agree?"
"I'll help you."
"Why should I trust you?"
"Because I'm your brother."
"Let's be honest, Stefan," Gemma says solemnly. "You haven't seen yourself as our brother for a very long time."
"Because I want you gone."
Damon pauses before nodding slowly, "okay."
Gemma turns her back and shuffles down the hallway, ignoring the way her brothers continue on the conversation without her. Lead fills her stomach and her fingers tremble at her sides, the panic sitting in her chest beginning to rise. For the first time in a while, she was afraid. Afraid for what Katherine's return meant for her brothers, and for Elena and her family; for her.
There wasn't a single day in hell that could ever prepare Mystic Falls for the havoc Katherine Pierce would bring with her.
