finances, future development, to shareholder changes. He really did his homework on it.

He also analyzed the prospects of all the current teclinological developments.

Suddenly, Dorothy heard her name being mentioned.

“Dorothy recently proposed a tech project about new cars to the Prosperity Consortium. It’s now under

review by the headquarters. I took a look at it, and if it’s legitimate, it might just be what we need right

now”

The speaker was the investment director a big shot in the Lopez Corporation.

Behind the camera Everett nodded slightly, not even batting an eyelid. “Kevin, keep an eye on it”

1 checked it out. It’s a project by several university professors, led by a man named Kenneth. He holds

quite a few patents and is definitely a talent.”

Dorothy had a weird feeling that Everett stiffened up a bit when Kevin mentioned Kernell, but he quickly

returned to normal. The meeting went on

Dorothy didn’t have much say in such an important meeting, so she just kept her head down and took

notes

Almost ten at night, and the meeting showed no signs of ending However, she began to feel her

“Meeting adjourned for 30 minutes”

Dorothy was relieved. She didn’t even bother to tum off the camera before scrambling to find her

stomach medicine.

Just then, Karen returned with Kenneth in tow.

Seeing Dorothy with the stomach medicine and a glass of water, he walked over with the cakes in his

hand, “Hungry huh? You’ll feel worse H you take the medicine on an empty stomach Eat something

first, then take the medicine. Ill get you some warm water.” Karen quickly chimed in. “My brother is

always sa thoughtful. Dorothy go back to your room. Hell bring it to you.”

Because her stomach was hurting so badly, Dorothy didn’t put up any resistance and obediently went

back to her room

She saw that everyone had left the meeting screen, and Everett’s camera was off

She forced a few bites of the cake, and soon Kenneth knocked on the door, water in hand. “Dorothy,

can I come in?”

“Sure” Dorothy looked up, gratefully accepting the water from him. Thank you for getting me food as

well”

“Don’t mention it. I figured you’d still need to eat even if you’re working late. If Karen hadn’t insisted on

buying some clothes, we could’ve come back earlier fill ask her to stock up on some food, so you’ll

have something to eat when you’re working late.”

Kenneth’s voice was always so gentle and warm like he was incapable of getting angry

Dorothy drank the warm water ate some food, and tuck the medicine. Her stomach pain soon subsided.

Half an hour later, the meeting resumed.

Everett’s handsome face reappeared on the screen. He frowned, seemingly displeased.
