Kevin gave a detailed report on the due diligence of Genesis Creations Inc, covering all aspects from
finances, future development, to shareholder changes. He really did his homework on it.
He also analyzed the prospects of all the current teclinological developments.
Suddenly, Dorothy heard her name being mentioned.
âDorothy recently proposed a tech project about new cars to the Prosperity Consortium. Itâs now under
review by the headquarters. I took a look at it, and if itâs legitimate, it might just be what we need right
nowâ
The speaker was the investment director a big shot in the Lopez Corporation.
Behind the camera Everett nodded slightly, not even batting an eyelid. âKevin, keep an eye on itâ
1 checked it out. Itâs a project by several university professors, led by a man named Kenneth. He holds
quite a few patents and is definitely a talent.â
Dorothy had a weird feeling that Everett stiffened up a bit when Kevin mentioned Kernell, but he quickly
returned to normal. The meeting went on
Dorothy didnât have much say in such an important meeting, so she just kept her head down and took
notes
Almost ten at night, and the meeting showed no signs of ending However, she began to feel her
stomach acting up.
If only she had eater something earlier!
She couldnât have possibly started eating in front of the camera.
Dorothy clenched her fists, trying to suppress the discomfort, but it only got worse, and she even
started to sweat.
Karen, who was supposed to be out for dinner hadnât retumed yet. She mustâve gone on a date with
some hot guy. There was no one else in the house who could have handed her some stomach
medicine.
Gradually, she was sweating more, and the stomach pain was so intense that she almost lost her
hearing
Suddenly. Everettâs voice rang out.
âMeeting adjourned for 30 minutesâ
Dorothy was relieved. She didnât even bother to tum off the camera before scrambling to find her
stomach medicine.
Just then, Karen returned with Kenneth in tow.
Seeing Dorothy with the stomach medicine and a glass of water, he walked over with the cakes in his
hand, âHungry huh? Youâll feel worse H you take the medicine on an empty stomach Eat something
first, then take the medicine. Ill get you some warm water.â Karen quickly chimed in. âMy brother is
always sa thoughtful. Dorothy go back to your room. Hell bring it to you.â
Because her stomach was hurting so badly, Dorothy didnât put up any resistance and obediently went
back to her room
She saw that everyone had left the meeting screen, and Everettâs camera was off
She forced a few bites of the cake, and soon Kenneth knocked on the door, water in hand. âDorothy,
can I come in?â
âSureâ Dorothy looked up, gratefully accepting the water from him. Thank you for getting me food as
wellâ
âDonât mention it. I figured youâd still need to eat even if youâre working late. If Karen hadnât insisted on
buying some clothes, we couldâve come back earlier fill ask her to stock up on some food, so youâll
have something to eat when youâre working late.â
Kennethâs voice was always so gentle and warm like he was incapable of getting angry
Dorothy drank the warm water ate some food, and tuck the medicine. Her stomach pain soon subsided.
Half an hour later, the meeting resumed.
Everettâs handsome face reappeared on the screen. He frowned, seemingly displeased.
âFrom now on, everyone should eat dinner before attending evening meetings
