Jeffrey blinked in disbelief, realizing he had just uttered the words he wished he could take back, âWant
what? Do you need another run to the grocery store?â
Karen shot him an annoyed glance, clearly on the brink of walking out.
Luckily, Jeffâs reflexes kicked in as he grabbed her wrist, âHold on, can you clarify? How can I play
along if I donât know what youâre on about? Whatâs got your feathers all ruffled now?â
âLet go of me! I donât need thisâIâm going to bed!â
The word âbedâ struck Jeffrey like lightning, and he suddenly grasped what her question meant.
What kind of nonsensical reply had he blurted out?
âKaren, you-â
âLet. Go!â Karen was past the point of wanting to converse with him. She wished heâd just vanish!
âWait, just hold on! Damn it, I just got it!â
With a firm tug, Jeffrey reeled Karen back into his arms, trapping her between his chest and the wall.
His masculine scent mingled with his breath, tinged with a hint of tobacco, enveloping them both.
Their bodies were tangled and inextricable.
They locked eyes, staring at each other for an eternity.
He licked his lower lip, his voice tight with urgency, âAlright. Letâs do it.â
Karen grimaced, âBut now I donât want to.â
âAre you playing games with me?â
âNope, I was up for it a minute ago, now Iâm not. Howâs that playing games?â
Jeffrey always lost these verbal spats. He moved his lips, struggling to find the words to argue back,
but nothing came out.
âI donât care, you asked me and now Iâm ready!â
âJeffrey, youâmmph!â Her words were swallowed by his sudden kiss.
In his haste, Jeffrey knocked into Karenâs teeth, a pang of pain making her nose twitch. But before she
could curse, her lips were already claimed.
He kissed her, fumbling with the bedroom door, then lifted her off her feet and tossed her onto the bed.
âStop it, just stop!â
Karen suddenly felt a flicker of fear. Why did she have to provoke a man who held it for such a long
time? She just wanted a taste of the rich hottie instead of meeting her end in bed!
âThis was your idea, now deal with it!â
As Karen attempted to wriggle deeper into the bed, Jeffrey grabbed her ankles and pulled her beneath
him.
âI changed my mind, stop! Just solve it yourself. I promise I wonât interrupt you.â
Jeffrey glared, his large hands pinning her head as she clawed and pinched at his back, but he refused
to break the kiss.
âMmmphâ¦â
Karen was exhausted from struggling. This man was immovable like a mountain!
Suddenly, Jeffrey stopped.
Karen was stunned, âWhat, whatâs wrong?â
âI forgot to buy something. Hold on, I need to step out!â
The last thing he needed was to risk an unexpected pregnancy.
Jeffrey, fighting the discomfort, reached for his keys to leave, but Karen quickly grabbed him.
âI have it in my purseâ
âWhat?â
âI bought them at the grocery store just now.â
Jeffrey narrowed his eyes, âFeels like Iâve walked into a trap, doesnât it?â
Karen couldnât help but laugh at his comment, âIf you think itâs a trap, then donât touch me.â
Trap or not, even if itâs a black hole, I canât resist tonight!â
Sure enough, Jeffrey found a small box in her purse, labeled: Ultra Thin, 3âPack.
He frowned, âYou only got one box?â
âYeahâ¦â
âWell, you better hope itâs enough.â
