“You just go. If you’ve done nothing wrong, you’ve got nothing to fear. Besides, Mr. Lopez doesnt mind”

She remained silent

But she felt she did do something wrong

Dorothy was already feeling suffocated. She couldn’t imagine when she actually met Everett Lopez,

alone in a car with him, in a confined space. She’d probably be so awkward that she’d break out in

goosebumps!

“Mr. Lopez has a car at Lumina Bay. I give you the keys when we get there

“Um. Im not a great driver. I don’t want to wreck Mr. Lopez’s car

Kevin gave her a mysterious smile and raised his eyebrows, “Don’t worry! Mr. Lopez has dozens of

cars parked in his garage a

garage at Lumina Bay, even if you wreck one, no one will know if it wasn’t for the fact that you can’t

Dorothy pulled a face, unsure whether to marvel at Everett’s wealth first or mourn the fact that her

excuse had been shot down,

On the plane, Kevin and a few colleagues who were traveling together held a small meeting

She listened in, but didn’t understand much; she exclaimed to herself about how smart her mentor was

After the flight attendant distributed the meals, Kevin returned to his seat.

Dorothy glanced at the contract in his hand. It was a hedge report..

“Is this Genesis Creations Inc. research project that big a deal to the Lopez Corporation?”

“Yeah, the profits are huge, but so are the challenges.” Kevin waved the stack of research materials,

Tim going to be tied up with this for the next few months.”

“You’re working so hard. Doesn’t your family mind?” She noticed Kevin practically lived at the Lopez

Corporation.

Kevin picked up his coffee and took a sip. “My parents are overseas.”

“What about your wife?”

1 don’t have a wife. I’m not married.” Kevin made a point of showing his bare ring finger. Tim in my

prime right now so I need to focus on my career!”

“No wonder, Kevin. You’ve achieved such a high position at the Lopez Corporation because you’ve put

your all into it.”

Kevin waved his hand and laughed, “Less of the flattery. Tell me who gets married early in cur industry?

I’m so busy I wish there were 48 hours in a day. If I have a girlfriend, get married, and have a kid with

her, it wouldn’t be fair to her. I won’t have time for her or our family”

Dorothy nodded in agreement.

There were so many married men who failed to do their duties to attend kids, thus leading to a divorce.

The children were the ones who suffered the most.

“Look at Mr. Loper. He’s not married either, is he? Ms. Heather has been with him for so long and

they’ve made no moves to take the next step. It’s because they have to focus on their careers too”

Dorothy was taken aback. She let out an awkward laugh.

“Hey, was Mr. Lopez a catch as a schoolboy?”

Kevin suddenly felt in the mood for some idle chit–chat
