Chapter 32: The Beautiful Eyes Have Opened

Wrong Pond, Empress2,838 words~15 min read

'OPEN!'

'SPRING UP!'

Without a second count, Dorion's eyes shot up open and lifted his body.

He had been kneeling at the side of her bed as his knees touched the duvet cover.

His upper body had just rested on the edges of her bed while he placed his hands over her hand.

Just like those Princes in fairytales who waited for their Princess to wake up.

The sound of her rushed every inch of his body to lift up his upper body only remaining in a kneeling position.

"Lady!" (Dorion, said)

A front face visible rather than a side face with his closed eyes just not too long ago.

It was definitely a different sight to see especially because a man like him has never looked so emotionally and physically unwell.

The same repeated outfit he stuck as a routine to wear, and his go-to hairstyle but why was it that something regularly looked strangely worse right in her presence?

This man had terrible eye bags as if he had not slept for days and his eyes were puffy read as if he had cried nonstop to the point the tears no longer could run down his beautiful red ruby eyes.

His attractive-looking face which had a very structured shape with its sharp features had too changed, as if he had lost weight.

And that look in his eyes that was full of different variations of emotions just looking at the reflection of her dark blue eyes.

Emotions that collide together in a face that was to crumble if it were a dream.

An unbelievable feeling, relief, regret, passion, anger, rage, guilt, surprise, and yearn.

Even the way his body and his voice raised up was full of suffocating yearning and surprise.

'Blink, Blink'

Aurora did not respond to him.

It was more like she had woken up confused from a strange dream in a magical realm.

'Blink, Blink'

But it was just not that, she was back in her old room.

So was this another dream?

'Turn'

A dream that included this man.

'Get up'

'Look up'

"Lady?" (Dorion, asked)

Although it seemed that everything had happened slowly in fact everything was happening quite quickly.

Dorion had gotten up leaning his body a little closer to her sitting body looking at her as he asked with a very worried tone.

Because in fact, her dark blue eyes seemed as if she really wasn't awake, or at least she didn't look to grasp what had happened.

Her face only lifted up to look at him still remaining silent.

'Open'

'Rustle'

Till her dark blue eyes that looked at his red ruby eyes had finally gained real focus.

Her lips were about to open when suddenly she felt a sudden movement underneath her duvet covers as if something was lying down on her thighs.

'Halt'

'A snake?' (Aurora's inner thoughts)

Immediately her body halted and painted a pale terrified expression at the feeling she had felt with the snake Adelina had placed.

'Turn'

'Uncover'

'Widen'

"?!" (Aurora)

Her face turned away from Doroion to the Duvet covers and uncovered it with fright but in speed to see what that was but this thing was certainly not a snake.

But a small curled-up sleeping baby fox.

A white and pink small baby fox that looked to be around four months old.

It was all over its little sleeping cute body, the only white parts were from its muzzle and down its little chest as if the chest part was especially furry in a very fluffy way.

Its four little curled-up paws were white only from its knee level down to the bottom as well as half its very very fluffy tail to the end.

It looked more like a small kitten than that of a fox cub, but it did in fact have the resemblance of the fox and the colors of the winged cat in that dream.

It's cute pink pointy furry ears and it's long little lashes.

There really were no words to describe such a cute being.

This little sleeping baby was in fact a baby Shituz fox.

The Shituz foxes are known to be shy and rare.

The ones to never approach humans unless they liked them just like the book she had read.

The Shituz foxes were found to reside near waterfalls and fuschia pink roses in the Zent forest this baby was really here sleeping on her thighs snuggled up.

'Blush'

Aurora's cheeks quickly gained a pink color and a small warm smile formed on her lips.

It was just like back then when she had tasted the first day of freedom and happiness out on the balcony.

Such feeling, she couldn't help but feel happy.

But it wasn't just because of this cute little one but the promise that was kept.

'He kept his promise' (Aurora's inner thoughts)

He had promised to get her a Shituz fox and he really had gotten it.

'Turn'

'Ease'

'Smile'

"Hello Dorion" (Aurora, said)

Her face turned gently as her expression eased up but her lips had not.

They raised higher than the smile she had displayed for the small sleeping little fox.

With a soft thank you rocking any being on Dorion causing him to fall back to his knees.

'Cover'

"Sigh" (Dorion, sighed)

He had fallen as a rended man covering his face with a loud sigh of relief.

'BURST!'

"AURORA!" (Arian, yelled)

'Wake up!'

'Startled'

"Mieu" (Baby Shituz fox, crying startled)

'Grab'

'Hold'

As if impeccable timing the double doors to her old room burst open with a yelling stressed surprise young man had come into the room calling her name startling the little baby Shituz fox springing up scared.

Even Aurora had become startled herself but held out her hands to grab the little baby Shituz fox in her arms carrying it and staring at the young man who had burst in.

'Widen'

If Dorion's appearance was one to not overlook this young man, her brother Arian was not either.

Arian was wearing a non-ironed white blouse and simple black training pants.

Messy fuschia pink hair, terrible eyebags, and really red eyes just like Dorion who had not slept and cried for days.

Not only that but he reeked of alcohol if anything he looked like a shoeless drunkard because indeed he didn't even have shoes and he wobbled his way into this room.

He was a complete mess but at least he looked enough sane to realize she was Aurora and not some strange object like a post of something drunks see with that vision of theirs.

'Uncover'

'Turn'

'Stand Up'

'Halt'

Dorion who had covered his face uncovered it turned around to look at Arian and stood up covering Aurora slightly from Arian's view placing his left hand as a stop.

"What rudeness, she has just woken up are you planning to make her ears bleed?" (Dorion, asked)

Although his words sounded mad his tone somehow sounded strangely more like a bicker a brother-in-law and the husband would have.

'Halt'

'Stare'

Arian immediately halted at his words.

Dorion brought his hands down slowly as he saw Arian halt his step.

It was just a quick interaction between them before Arian's attention turned to Aurora who sat in a bed holding the little baby Shituz fox in her arms as the duvets had been uncovered and the pink fuschia roses that had been cut from all the stems placed around her bed everywhere scattered as a decoration.

Those flowers he had laid around her bed so each time he stepped in her room her sleeping unconscious sister's silhouette did not seem without color washing away alongside the man that continued to kneel day and night awaiting for her awakence.

'Kneel'

'Drop, Drop, Drop'

"Ahaha" (Arian, laughing)

Arian wasted no time approaching his sister kneeling down right beside her just like Dorion had been doing before.

Everything came rushing down.

A variety of emotions just like Dorion again.

However Arian had countless of waterfall tears raging down his dark blue eyes crying in a laugh out loud as if he had a heartache.

'Drop, Drop'

'Trembled'

"I...I...SOB....THOUGHT...YOU WERENT...SOB...GOING TO EVER...SOB...WAKE UP..." (Arian, cried)

It wasn't the appearance of a young man crying it was one of a young child who had thought he lost his mother.

Arian had never made that expression not even when his mother died.

On the day of the funeral, he had shed tears but as the future heir and as the eldest brother of the two baby sisters held by his father's arms he couldn't cry as he wanted to.

He had to remain strong.

But this was far something he could no longer keep.

He had nearly lost something so precious to him without realizing it.

'Drop, Drop'

Crying

"I DIDN'T GET TO...SOB...PROPERLY TELL YOU...SOB...HOW MUCH YOU MEAN...SOB...TO ME...AURORA...SOB" (Arian, cried)

"I DIDN'T GET TO APOLOGIZE PROPERLY....SOB...HOW AWFUL AND...SOB...A HORRIBLE OF A BROTHER...SOB...I BEEN TO YOU...SOB...I...SOB...SISTER...I'M SO SORRY...." (Arian, cried)

His tears had made his eyesight become unclear as he choked on his own words as he continued to cry helplessly with desperation trying to look at her from his kneeling position not caring that Dorion was watching a sight like that of him.

".... "(Aurora)

Aurora had let Arian cry and speak to her as she watched in silence.

Somewhere in her heart, there was a sting as if it hurt her watching him like this.

But she couldn't bring herself to do it.

'Bite'

She only bit her teeth to prevent her from saying something she didn't know if she wanted to say.

"..." (Dorion)

But her attentive husband had noticed it.

"You have not woken up for a week" (Dorion, said)

'Halt'

'Widen'

"!!" (Aurora)

"A week?" (Aurora, asked)

The instance he said those words, it seemed to hurt Dorion's throat that Aurora's body unciously halted as her dark blue eyes widened leaving that question with a lower voice as if she was asking herself that not them.

'Drop, Drop'

This time Arian had stopped crying out loud and cried silently at the same rate that his teardrops had fallen before they continued to fall just like that.

'Close'

"I...we thought you wouldn't open your eyes...I thought I would lose you...I didn't know what to do..." (Dorion, said)

Doron closed his eyes as he clenched his fist feeling impotence that he couldn't do anything.

"...." (Aurora)

......

Arian had given them room to speak as Dorion's made Arian freshed up not wanting him around with the smell of alcohol.

Now it was them two just alone.

"Meiu" (Baby Shituz fox, noises)

And the little baby Shituz fox who was now on top of the duvet covers.

'Silence'

There were so many words he wanted to say but somehow he couldn't bring up to say.

The only sound was that of the baby Shituz fox after that the room came to a complete silence only Aurora looking at him and him who too also couldn't seem to look at her in the eyes looking to the left of him.

".... " (Aurora)

Aurora looked at him in silence for what seemed to go on for a whole minute till she noticed the large jewel that she had given him was no longer wrapped around his neck.

'Turn'

But for some reason, she turned to look to the top of her old drawer.

Right, there was a taken-out dager displayed resting as if it were to be eventually used.

'Open'

"The dagger" (Aurora, said)

Her lips finally opened as she was the first to break the silence.

"...." (Dorion)

Dorion did not respond only his expression became dark.

'Turn'

Now she turned to look at him and away from the sitting dagger.

"What were you...." (Aurora, said)

She couldn't bring herself to ask fully but Dorion knew it well.

Aurora had not seen sight of his right buckled sword on his hip however the dagger was there.

She didn't know why he had taken out the dagger.

It wasn't that he had broken that promise because she had allowed him to use the dagger but wasn't it strange that he had removed it from his neck and taken out the cover displaying the sharp small dagger?

What did that mean? Had that a meaning?

Or had it waved so heavy on his neck that he wanted it out of his neck for comfort?

'Open'

"Lady...I couldn't live without you...not (again)" (Dorion, said)

He had finally opened his mouth answering her with a heart-aching tone as a man who had completely lost everything.

But very naturally he had mumbled 'not again' low enough to hear.

"I couldn't bear it" (Dorion, said)

"It hurt. A lot watching you unable to open your eyes" (Dorion, said)

And those tears that had sucked out everything of him had finally become watery again without dropping his tears which showed far greater pain.

'Ah...!' (Aurora's inner thoughts)

Her face had gained a surprised realization at what he meant.

She really had no idea what this man had to suffer mentally and physically seeing her lying in bed with her beautiful closed eyes.

It was the worst torture in his entire two lives.

Nothing could compare to the pain he felt.

-1 week ago at the Zent Forrest grounds, at the waterfall area-

"Neigh, Neigh"

Horse noises.

A small pack of horses had made noises as they stopped right in front of a beautiful crystal clear waterfall that reflected a beautiful small rainbow with the rays of the sunlight.

"Wow... it's a very nice area no wonder it's on the black flag mark" (Evans, said)

"I almost feel too peaceful on my part, if anything it should belong to a lower mark but I have to say It almost looks magical, then I'm sure that pink fox is around here right?" (Orland, asked)

Orland asked as he took out a color sketch that Aurora had drawn for Dorion to take to portably rather than carrying a stolen book.

"Well considering how much we have hunted so far we probably got rid of any wild beast who stood in this area" (Kelvis, said)

"True that, it must be why it's so peaceful but all we have to do is find the fox our madam drew" (Uno, said)

"Anyways I really can't get over it, really this is no joke she's a genius each time I see her art there is no doubt we wouldn't be able to struggle spotting the difference between it and the red tail non-spotted leopard" (Evan, said)

He said as he glanced at Aurora's colored sketch on Orland's hand.

"Of course why wouldn't she be, our madam is both beautiful and talented" (Rex, said)

"She's a hidden genius I couldn't believe it how fast her she was sketching the base and painting the colors, I bet if she sold her art everyone around the world would purchase it"(Xer, said)

'Nod'

Everyone nodded in agreement including the Rainers knights who were there amongst them in charge of dragging or carrying Dorion's large catch on the way.

They had all nodded in agreement at the praises of their madam.

'Look'

'Stare'

However, there was a tiny little problem..

"Your Highness but how exactly are we going to catch this fox?" (Orland, asked)

"Yeah there appears to be no sight of them and from what you said they are really shy I really doubt one willing would come to you because it likes you" (Evans, said)

Evans said nonchalantly as if insulting Dorion was nothing.

"Haha, if anything he would just scare it away" (Evans, said)

"Hahaha" (Rainers Knights, laughing)

And the rest just encouraged Evan's words laughing along.

They had their good laugh and continued on to tease even more till they were silent shut at Dorion's response.

'Smirk'

'Raise'

Dorion's lips raised in a smirk but his face did not turn to look at him them as he stared at the clear waterfall.

His right gloved hand raised in sync with his smirk holding a certain item.

"??" (Rainers Knights)

Yes at this time their laugh had completely stopped and projected invisible question marks floating on top of their heads.

"Your Highness, you're not serious, are you? You're really going to..." (Evan, asked)

Now he was truly concerned along all the knights and Orland.

One thing was that Dorion was mad crazy in many ways but it wasn't that bad if you had gotten used to it and yet there was this.

"I'm sure it will like it, everyone likes chocolate" (Dorion, said)

No yeah, he was definitely crazy.

Who in their right mind would lure a magical fox with chocolate as if that would ever work?

'Froze'

'Crack'

And the worst part of it all was that he was dead serious.

All of them froze and turned into a tone statue with a crack realizing that's how they would be catching the Shituz fox.

With a dam chocolate bar!
