"A creature? Here in Alaska?" A brown haired woman asked after Edward had explained everything. The other officers were talking amongst themselves. "Yes. I wrote down important things for everyone living in the chugach mountains. Please hang them up in the area." The chief stood up and started to walk around the officers at the table and handed each a few papers. "I will be in my office for a while. The meeting is dismissed." Edward was the first one to leave the meeting room and directly went to his office.

Mika and Jenny had cleaned the table and decided to watch some TV for distraction. Though, the only stuff that was on the TV, was the news about the boy, who was found dead in the forest. Mika stood annoyed up and turned the TV off. "Great. Not even the TV is helping. I will be upstairs." Before Jenny could answer,he was already gone. She let out a sigh and leaned back against the couch. Mika had been acting a little strange since Connor's death. Not in a grieving way-In a way, that made Jenny worried. Jenny got out her phone and texted Edward.

"𝙸'𝚖 𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚛𝚒𝚎𝚍 𝚊𝚋𝚘𝚞𝚝 𝙼𝚒𝚔𝚊."

Something must have broken upstairs, because a breaking sound came from there. "Mika?" She stood up and Mika came downstairs with a gun. Edward had left one at home, just in case. "I will kill that thing. I will revenge Connor." "Are you out of your mind?! You can't just go outside!" Mika started heading towards the door and Jenny grabbed his arms. "I don't want to loose you too." He looked at her for a moment and then pulled his arm out of her grip. Without any other word,he left. Jenny didn't run after him; it was useless. She got out her phone again and dialed Edward's number.

Edward had been collecting more clues in his office. Many sticky notes were hanging around in the room. The phone rang,so he picked it up. "Hello? Chief Edw-" "EDWARD! I NEED YOUR HELP! MIKA IS IN DANGER!" "Okay, stay in the house. I'm on my way!" He hung up and started to rush out of his office. "Three officers, to the mountains now!" He yelled while he was nearly outside. Edward was driving really fast. He had a feeling,of what Mika is doing. The sirens of the other officers made him snap out of his thoughts. Not even the new song from AHA made him feel better. He wouldn't let another one die to the thing. Edward drove with his car through the police barrier tape. Only two more minutes and he would be there. He spotted the creature behind Mika. "YOU PIECE OF SHIT! YOU MURDERED MY FRIEND!" The trigger from the gun was pulled. It didn't react at all. Edward jumped out of the car. "ARE YOU CRAZY? GET AWAY FROM IT!" Just as Mika turned around, it happend. The creature bit the head of Mika off. His body slowly dropped to the floor, with blood flying in many directions. Edward stopped running and stared at the corpse. The other police officers arrived and the creature was gone. "-Mika.." Officer Harper went to the chief. "..Did it..-" She didn't finish the sentence as Edward already nodded. A female loud scream hurt the ears of Edward. It was Jenny. She ran to the body of her boyfriend, though a police officer catched her before she could arrive there. Edward went over to take her in his arms. His facial expression was blank. "..I'm sorry.." If only he had brought the kids home. Jenny had buried her face deep in Edward's arms. New police tape was wrapped around the area and Jenny was back home with the chief.

Both of them sat quietly at the dinning table with tea. The only sound was the grandfather clock in the living room. "Why would he do that...?" Jenny asked. Her throat was still hurting from the crying. Edward didn't answer,as the question wasn't really a question. He couldn't answer it either way. "I want you to leave this place tomorrow. It's too dangerous." Edward finally decided to say it. "Okay." Jenny answered. "I'm going upstairs. I need to work." He stood up and gave Jenny a weak smile. Who would be next? That was a question he was asking himself the whole time. He suspects it's Jenny, hence the reason he wants her to get away from here. On the wall next to the stairs, hung a couple of pictures. Most of them were Connor when he was younger. In one picture, he was celebrating his 7th birthday. The smile was huge and a missing teeth was revealed. Emma and Edward both were behind their son, also looking really happy. One of Edward's favourite memory of Connor, was when he was about 11 years old. It only had been the two boys; so they decided to drive to the sea side. There had been a bridge into the water and Connor was super excited to jump from it. Edward had recorded everything,so the video should still be somewhere. Connor had been really afraid to jump down from it, though his father motivated him. So Connor eventually jumped from it. He didn't regret it. Thinking about the memories made Edward smile. Connor was everything for him.

After he arrived in Connor's room again, he looked around it. Posters and even more pictures could be found here. On the posters were his favourite game characters. Edward remembered how he worked really hard to get the extra money for the posters, for his birthday. A calendar also was in the room. 19.12.91, was today's date. He sighed. Christmas won't be celebrated this year. Edward sat down on Connor's bed and picked the plush rabbit up. Emma had made it for him. Another sigh was heard. He got up and sat down at the table, looking at the pictures and notes. He had encountered the creature before. It had been in the forest nearby his old house. He once saw it rip the head off an animal. Which is why he knew it was it. His phone vibrated. Emma had sent a message:

"𝙷𝚘𝚠 𝚒𝚜 𝙲𝚘𝚗𝚗𝚘𝚛 𝚍𝚘𝚒𝚗𝚐? 𝙷𝚎 𝚍𝚒𝚍𝚗'𝚝 𝚛𝚎𝚜𝚙𝚘𝚗𝚍 𝚝𝚘 𝚖𝚢 𝚖𝚎𝚜𝚜𝚊𝚐𝚎𝚜."

The blood froze in his body again. She still didn't know it. Edward replied:

"𝙿𝚕𝚎𝚊𝚜𝚎 𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚎 𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚛 𝚝𝚘𝚖𝚘𝚛𝚛𝚘𝚠. 𝙸𝚝'𝚜 𝚜𝚎𝚛𝚒𝚘𝚞𝚜."

Emma responded with a simple "𝙾𝚔𝚊𝚢". The divorce was 11 years ago. Emma had requested one, as she just didn't love Edward anymore. She said, the reason was his 'mental health'. Edward often was in therapy and worked long days, to atleast make some money. And apparently Emma wasn't happy with that. Connor then usually stayed at his mother's place and only stayed in Alaska in the holidays. After Connor moved out, he decided to be closer to his dad. The whole thinking made Edward tired. He fell asleep on the table yet again. Before Jenny went to bed, she looked inside Connor's room and put a blanket over Edward. It was 2:39 am, when she finally was able to sleep.
