Olivia's POV
I didn't know why he ate so hurriedly. Was the meeting so important that he had to rush his food? Somewhere I felt a little jealous about whoever he was going to meet. Regardless, I took my time in eating my meal.
When I finished eating, I cleared the table, taking the used dishes to the kitchen. I had a large appetite so I ate the rest of the pasta and meatballs that remained. Since I didn't eat so much at my parent's place, I ate enough whenever I had the opportunity to.
I noticed how Elsa avoided my gaze when I entered the kitchen to drop the plates. I also avoided her. I wouldn't want anything else to go wrong again today. Once I kept them properly, I turned to go.
"I wonder who you're leaving the dishes for." She murmured. "You're dumb not handicapped."
I turned to be sure she was referring to me. I even pointed at myself to be sure.
"Are you so stupid that you can't comprehend when you're being referred to? You served the Alpha his meal and you drop the used dishes for who to wash?"
I stared at her. This girl just wants me to get angry and do something neither of us would like. I smiled at her and turned to continue my journey out. I won't fall for her trap. What if while I'm putting her in place, the head maid walks in?
Or worse, what if Devon comes in? What would I explain as the issue? I found my way to the training ground. Somewhere within myself, I wondered how long it would take for me to train before I could become the better version of myself that everyone would love.
The one that everyone wouldn't look down on and insult just because she can't speak. I took a few deep breaths, then I started.
Training was always hard. The body movements, the use of strength, the hits and sometimes I miss and it comes back, hitting me in the process. I would get injures, sometimes it was just a minor bruise which would be obvious by the discoloration on my skin.
Other times it could be an open injury, or a muscle tear inside. Either way, I get to heal. But it's rather slow. Too slow for a regular werewolf.
I have to focus my mind on this, forget about where I stand. If I want to gain my glory here, I have two things to achieve.
One, was to train so well so that I could become a stronger werewolf and I would be able to speak out more.
Two, was to get Devon to accept me as his mate and make me his Luna.
If I wanted to achieve the second one more easily, I have to finish the first. Getting Devon to like this version of myself was more difficult than harnessing my inner abilities and harnessing my inner abilities is really tough.
Although my mind was filled with so much thoughts, I still managed to focus on my movements. I heard the sound of the guards greeting Devon and I knew he had returned.
He came back pretty early. From the way he sounded, I had assumed that he would spend a very long time at the place he went to.
I hadn't exactly gone far when he arrived but I had to pretend to have gone far and to be thoroughly focused on what I was doing. If he was being nice to me, I need to keep it that way. Especially since it could help my missions.
"Olivia." He called as soon as he got to the training ground. "End the training for today, come with me."
Great, what have I done this time? This is the first time he is ending my training so abruptly. He would rather make me train thrice or twice as much. For ending my training, did it mean that my crime was lesser or more?
The only way to find out was to go with him. I wiped the sweat off my forehead and walked over to where he stood patiently, waiting for me.
I bowed in greeting. "You came early." I gestured.
He nodded, looking away from me. "I had to visit the hospital."
My heart began to race in my chest. He visited the hospital? What did he go to do at the hospital? Oh no. Have I been found out? My mind just kept visiting various places and I forgot that he was speaking to me.
He must have seen my lost expression because he clapped twice in my face and I jerked out from my thoughts.
"What the hell is wrong with you? I'm talking to you and you are getting lost? What is getting you so carried away, huh? What has got you thinking?" He demanded fiercely.
Great. I managed to get him angry even when he decided to be nice to me. How do I always end up screwing things up for myself?
"I'm talking to you, Olivia!" He yelled. "Don't keep me quiet when I'm talking to you, you answer me."
"Alpha Devon, she's a mute. She can't talk." Elsa said softly from behind.
I glared at her and she ignored me. Who invited her into the discussion? I had initially wanted to answer Devon but hearing her input, I went silent. I want to know what he would say to her. Would he support her or scold her?
"And what has that got to do with you, huh?" Devon asked, growling angrily. Elsa cowered back in fright, as Devon turned to stare at her. She took steps backward, shakily. I smirked.
"Get out from here before I lose my temper." He muttered. Elsa didn't wait another second, she ran away quickly. Forgetting I was the major cause of his anger, I chuckled. He turned sharply.
"Something funny, Olivia?" He asked. I shook my head quickly. "Then why did you laugh?"
Also I thought, why does he keep asking me several questions when he knows I cannot speak?
