Olivia's POV
Bad enough that I had to spoon-feed Devon, he made me stay up all night, watching him sleep. It was torture for me since I was equally tired. Eventually, I fell asleep on the floor. I lay completely on the floor and I slept there till morning. I only managed to get about four hours of sleep and by morning, I was still very sleepy.
I opened my eyes and raised my head slightly. He was still in bed. I thanked the goddess in my heart. At least he didn't leave so he wouldn't know if I slept or not.
"Finally awake?" He asked and I jolted up in fright. He did know that I slept off!
I slowly got up from the floor. I bowed in greeting and he stared back at me.
"You slept on the floor." He stated. I nodded. I mean, I slept on the floor.
"Why?" He asked.
I was tired and sleepy, I couldn't hold it in.
He chuckled. "So you chose to sleep on my floor?"
After asking, he threw his legs down from the bed and stood up. My eyes widened in surprise. He could move his body?
"Yes, I am fine." He said. "Don't look so surprised. I think it was a monetary illness and I was about to call the doctor but since I'm okay, maybe no more."
He was about to call the doctor. Thank goodness I stayed here all through the night. What if he called the doctor and she found out that he had been given a drug that had the potency to lock his wolf form? What would have been her fate?
"Go and prepare my bath water. When you're done, get me something to eat and serve it at the dining." He said. "Don't forget your training. I have a place I need to be so I won't be around to watch you train."
I nodded. I went into his bathroom and prepared the water in his bath for him. I took out his body wash kit and placed them beside the bath water. I poured his scented oils into the water and his body wash. Once I was done, I returned to find him undressing.
"Well don't just stand there, go and do the rest." He ordered. I hurried out of the room, my heart was hammering in my chest.
I found my way to the kitchen and which was full of people. The head maid wasn't there this time around. I wasn't comfortable being around so many of them especially since they had mocked me the previous night.
I decided to ignore them and do what Devon asked me to do. I began to prepare ingredients to make him pasta and meatballs. While I took out the ingredients, I could hear one of the maids tap another and they began whispering.
"What's she doing?"
"I don't know, you can ask her."
"She can't speak, remember. I don't want her waving her arms like a lunatic around me."
The second girl laughed. "You're so right. Still, we have to know what she's doing."
"Hm.. alright, let's ask."
They walked up to where I was and tapped me. I ignored them.
"Hey!"
I kept quiet, not answering them.
"Are you also deaf and not just dumb?"
I raised my head to glare at her. What do you want?
"What are you doing here?" She asked. "Who asked you to make this meal? I don't think it's important anyway."
"Yeah, we already made food for everyone in the pack house, so get out."
I didn't respond to them. I simply turned back to the sauce which I was mixing. Once I finished, I added it to the spaghetti and placed it on the fire. They watched me ignore them and I believe it got them angry.
The second girl marched to where I was and snatched the spoon from my hand, throwing it away and attracting the attention of the other girls.
"Elsa, leave her alone." One said.
"No! She has to tell us why she's ignoring us. She can't just come in here after warming the Alpha's bed and try to"
I slapped her immediately. I didn't know why I did that or how I managed to raise my hand but I just saw myself hit her across the face. The glare I sent to her was enough to silence her permanently.
"I... Not... a... Slut." I growled. At least I could form little words more often than I did before. Her eyes filled with tears and they turned red. The other maids avoided having eye contact with me.
Elsa was about to retaliate when the head maid came in. Her hand froze mid-air.
"Elsa! I warned you, especially about disturbing Olivia!" She yelled. "Out now!"
Elsa glared at me. "I'll deal with you."
I ignored her still. I concentrated on the meal I was making, ignoring whatever went on around me. Once I finished making the meal, I put it in a small fancy pot and covered it. I took it to the dining and surprisingly, Devon was already seated there. I placed the pot on the table and returned to the kitchen to grab the plates and cutlery and a bottle of wine.
Devon seemed skeptical about the wine but when he saw it was a new bottle, he calmed a little.
"When did these get here?" He asked.
I shrugged. I didn't know. I had only met new bottles of wine in the cellar this morning when I went to make him breakfast.
"Go in and get another plate and cutlery." He ordered. I obeyed without asking anything.
"Dish your meal and eat with me." He said. I stared at him. Why was he being so nice to me? It was making me more uncomfortable because I had just done something bad to him. At least if he had been wicked still, I wouldn't have felt so guilty. Why did he have to become so nice? Why?
