Vol. 1 - Chapter 16 - Stop Being an Empress of the Heavenly Realm

Morning the next day…

Luo Ruying gradually opened her eyes. The moment she opened her eyes, she saw a handsome face before her.

Ning Yechen was sleeping very close to her. He was so close that she could feel his breath.

Luo Hongye was sleeping between them and using one of Ning Yechen’s arms as a pillow while his other hand was on Luo Ruying’s hips.

There was also his leg that had been on top of Luo Ruying all night!

Luo Ruying frowned slightly and clenched her fists. She really wanted to teach the man a lesson for sleeping in this inappropriate posture.

She did not know how many times she had removed Ning Yechen’s leg off her body last night. But he soon did it again!

After trying repeatedly, she finally gave up powerlessly.

She could let this slide.

But the other problem was the guy’s roving hands!

Luo Ruying hesitated briefly with her fists clenched. In the end, she loosened her fists helplessly.

She would let him off this time.

He was asleep, so it was unintentional.

Moreover, Luo Ruying and Luo Hongye could finally rest at ease last night.

Luo Ruying removed Ning Yechen’s arm and leg gently and got out of bed. She held her hairpin in her mouth, sat by the bed, and did her hair.

Luo Ruying lowered her head and saw a sweet smile on Luo Hongye’s little face. She smiled as well.

This child was just like her father.

Luo Ruying looked at the two of them lying in bed dotingly. She did not disturb them. She quietly put on her clothes and went to the kitchen.

Even though she did not require sustenance, the child was still young, and Ning Yechen was a mortal. As a mother and wife, she naturally had to take care of her family.

Luo Ruying glanced at them curiously as they sat at the door doing something and shook her head helplessly.

She did not know what he was teaching their daughter.

From the looks of it, they were having a good time, so she left them to it.

After some time, Luo Ruying finished preparing breakfast and called out to the father and daughter playing outside the house. “Breakfast’s ready.”

“Heehee. Coming, Mommy~”

Luo Hongye was sitting on Ning Yechen’s shoulders as they entered the house. There was a flower on Ning Yechen’s head.

“Yeye, stop playing.” Luo Ruying looked at the flower on Ning Yechen’s head and almost could not resist laughing out loud. She quickly took Luo Hongye off his shoulders.

Ning Yechen did not take it to heart. Instead, he was happy and sat down at the table with a smile.

The breakfast was made using some crops and herbs planted on the farm outside.

Worried that his body would be unable to withstand some of the heavenly plants and herbs, Luo Ruying had used lower-quality ones that were safe for human consumption.

Luo Hongye was tiny, so she could only sit in Luo Ruying’s arms. She leaned against the table and ate with her head buried in her bowl, getting rice stuck on her face.

Luo Ruying took out a handkerchief and wiped Luo Hongye’s face dotingly. Then she fed Luo Hongye. “Here you go.”

“Thanks for breakfast, Dear~” Ning Yechen picked up some food and placed them into their bowls.

Luo Ruying’s lips curved upward slightly, and she also picked up some food to place in Ning Yechen’s bowl. “You’re welcome. My cooking might not be as good as yours. Why don’t you try it?”

Luo Ruying wanted to place the food in Ning Yechen’s bowl, but he unexpectedly moved his head over and ate from her chopsticks.

After eating, he smiled and praised, “Your cooking is great! Far better than I expected!”

Ning Yechen genuinely felt this way!

As a heavenly fairy from the Heavenly Realm, Luo Ruying surprisingly knew how to cook.

She was all set to be a virtuous mother and wife!

Luo Ruying wanted to place food in his bowl but ended up feeding him. A blush emerged on her face. He didn’t have to eat from my chopsticks…

When Luo Hongye saw the scene, she raised her head, looked at Luo Ruying, and opened her mouth. “Me too. Ahhh~”

“Okay, okay.” Luo Ruying smiled and fed Luo Hongye some food using her chopsticks.

Ning Yechen also dotingly fed Luo Hongye.

Luo Hongye ate up everything with relish until her face was bulging. She smiled with satisfaction.

Luo Ruying looked at the blissful scene of a family of three eating around the table, and a smile appeared on her face.

As an Empress, she had never felt this way before.

If only she could hide here with him and their daughter for the rest of her life…

She did not care if she could not be an Empress of the Heavenly Realm!

In the Monster Domain Forest…

Four figures gathered and looked intently at the vast Monster Domain Forest.

A man wearing a green swordsman robe narrowed his eyes and asked a hunched old man with marks on his face, “Old Ghost, are you sure they’re hiding in the Monster Domain Forest?”

“Are you doubting my Poltergeist Infant Puppet’s Soul-Searching Technique?” Old Ghost chuckled viciously, holding a frightening puppet with the features of a baby.

The Poltergeist Infant Puppet had a long strand of hair in its mouth as it stared deeply into the Monster Domain Forest.

“Old Ghost’s Soul-Searching Technique is famous. All he needs is something from the target to know its location! From the looks of it, that Heavenly Realm woman is hiding in the Monster Domain Forest!” a topless burly man said candidly.

A man in a scholar’s outfit frowned. “The Monster Domain Forest is full of Monster Kings. If they are really in there, it won’t be easy to get them.”

“Is the leader of Tianxia Scholastic Palace afraid?” The burly man looked at Su Sheng and spoke in a teasing tone.

Su Sheng frowned and looked hard at the burly man. “Hmph! If the leader of the Almighty Combat Hall has nothing to fear, why should I? You must be joking!”

“In that case, does this mean you want to compete with me?” Wu Kuang looked excitedly at the leader of Tianxia Scholastic Palace, Su Sheng. A powerful aura radiated from Wu Kuang.

Su Sheng was not to be outdone and matched Wu Kuang’s challenge!

“Enough! We aren’t here to fight each other. Don’t forget why we’re here!” Lu Jian reminded sternly while standing between Su Sheng and Wu Kuang, blocking them with his sword.

Hearing this, Su Sheng and Wu Kuang stopped challenging each other.

Rather than fighting, they were here to accomplish an important mission!

They were here to apprehend the mother and daughter called Luo Ruying and Luo Hongye.
