When Ning Yechen rushed back to the wooden house, he detected a silhouette anxiously coming toward him and smiled. He quickly came down from midair, landed on the ground in the forest, and walked over slowly.

Before long, Luo Ruying quickly appeared in front of Ning Yechen. “Great. I finally found you.”

Seeing that Ning Yechen was fine, Luo Ruying heaved a sigh of relief.

When she saw the calm look on his face, she could not help feeling angry.

Worried that there were monster beasts lurking nearby, she had sent Luo Hongye home and then had anxiously gone looking for him.

They were close as they looked at each other. Just one more step, and they would touch each other.

Luo Ruying’s heart could not help pounding. She moved back slightly as the blush on her face deepened.

She glared at Ning Yechen irritably.

Even at a time like this, he was still teasing her!

She was an Empress from the Heavenly Realm, but a mortal man was doing this to her!

“Really, I’m doing this for our daughter. Come on. Let’s go back,” Luo Ruying said huffily before turning to go back.

Seeing Luo Ruying’s incensed back, Ning Yechen smiled.

He lowered his head to look at his feet, and an idea came to him. He immediately broke his right leg.

“I accidentally injured my leg earlier. I’m afraid I can’t walk back…” Ning Yechen said sadly to Luo Ruying after dragging his leg for a couple of steps.

Hearing this, Luo Ruying turned her head, and an anxious look emerged on her face. She hurriedly walked up in front of Ning Yechen, squatted down, and examined his right leg.

The bones in his right leg were broken. He was seriously injured!

But just a moment ago, his walking seemed fine!

“Why did you just say it? Seriously! Why are you so careless? If I didn’t come looking for you, what would you have done?” Luo Ruying looked at Ning Yechen exasperatedly with worry in her eyes.

With this injured leg, if he ran into a monster beast in the forest, he was bound to die!

“Sorry for making you worry.” When Ning Yechen saw the concern in Luo Ruying’s eyes, along with her genuine anger, he was delighted, and his lips curved upward.

Luo Ruying could only bandage and secure Ning Yechen’s leg before turning around and squatting down with her back facing him. “Come on. I’ll piggyback you.”

No one knew if any strong monster beasts were nearby.

It would be best if she piggybacked Ning Yechen back.

Ning Yechen showed a cunning smile when his scheme succeeded. He lay on Luo Ruying’s back without a second thought and held her shoulders.

Luo Ruying’s back was very warm, and she gave off a faint and sweet-smelling scent.

Ning Yechen decided to bury his cheek on her back.

Luo Ruying blushed even harder. Considering Ning Yechen’s injury, she did not say anything to him.

With a jump, she quickly went through the woods toward the wooden house.

In a few breaths, Luo Ruying piggybacked Ning Yechen back to the wooden house and let him sit on the bed.

“Daddy! I was so worried about you!” Seeing Ning Yechen return, Luo Hongye pounced into his arms and rubbed her cheek on him.

“Sorry for making you worry.” Ning Yechen hugged Luo Hongye dotingly and rubbed her little head.

The little girl had been very worried when he did not return to the wooden house with them.

Luo Ruying happily watched them interact and smiled. She told Ning Yechen to stay put and not go out before she left the wooden house.

She planned to go to the herb garden to pick some herbs and make medicated cream for Ning Yechen.

While she was there, she wanted to inspect the vicinity for monster beasts and set up a formation to keep the wooden house safe!

This simple wooden house was not safe at all. There was not a single security feature!

She did not know how the man managed to survive for so long.

Had he encountered any monster beasts, he would never have had the chance to see them again.

She had to defend their family and home!

Since there was a large variety of herbs in the garden, Luo Ruying soon found what she needed.

Afterward, using the wooden house as the center, Luo Ruying checked for the presence of any monster beasts within a 25-kilometer radius.

She was unable to detect the presence of monster beasts at all!

By the time Luo Ruying returned, the sky had gradually turned dark.

Ning Yechen and Luo Hongye were playing, and he was throwing her in the air.
