I had to reupload this because whilst trying to edit it, I accidentally deleted it. -.- So, it has less votes than every other chapter. So no, you're not just seeing things and Wattpad isn't glitching.
Chapter 16
âI want to make cupcakes or something.â Jessie urged, rubbing her stomach. I shrugged carelessly, pushing my hair out of my face. It was 8:30 at night and Jessie decided to spend the night at my house. Right now, we were craving anything sweet.
âYou can make them because you already know how good I am at making cupcakes. I always forget that theyâre in there and somehow, the smoke alarm always forgets to go off.â I muttered and she laughed, opening my door and standing outside of it.
âFor some reason, I just think you want some alone time with your lover boy.â She said, nodding her head towards the window. I shook my head as she closed the door, laughing loudly on her way down the stairs. He wasnât even home yet, not that I know or anything. Iâm just going to take a shower.
___
âLetâs make bucket lists.â Jessie encouraged me as I shrugged carelessly. We had a tray of cupcakes on the table beside us. I raised an eyebrow as I thought about that.
âFor our lives?â I asked and she snorted, shaking her head.
"No, for right now, the rest of high school and maybe even a little bit of college.â She sounded like she was making it up as she went but I just shrugged again, nodding. After, grabbing a blank sheet of paper for each of us, we started writing our lists.
Bucket List
1. Go on a real first date (with someone I actually like) for a picnic, I like picnics.
2. Get kicked out of a store, one I donât go to because they might ban me and I canât have that.
3. Skip school for a day and go out, not stay home.
4. Go on a rollercoaster at an amusement park, one that my instinct says âNoâ to.
5. Dye my hair a crazy color, for example; dying the tips red or blue. Or maybe even a streak. (Or two.)
6. Dance in the rain with someone, hopefully a guy⦠who has abs, and happens to be shirtless but Iâll settle for Jessie if I have to.
7. Go to a drive in movie. I think this is pretty self-explanatory.
8. Throw a drink in someoneâs face because theyâre a jerk.
9. Pull an all-nighter and watch the sun rise on the roof, it seems fun.
10. Carve my name into a tree and hopefully itâll stay there.
11. Go laser tagging, it seems amazing; lasers and tag.
12. Have a paint fight⦠an accidental one.
13. Go through a drive through on foot, itâll tick off the worker and itâll be fun!
14. Have a nerf gun fight, if I can get my hands on some.
15. Jump into a pool with all of my clothes on, or maybe get pushed. Ha, kidding.
16. Play Hide n Seek at midnight, its dark and fun. You have to play it with people you know though; you canât play with an ex-convict because they can shank you.
17. Have a shopping cart race at Wal-Mart or any other large department store.
18. Go swimming at Midnight, it sounds adventurous and dangerous.
19. Buy white Converse and have people sign them, hopefully there isnât anything bad on it, though. I may want to wear them to school.
20. Go to the Zoo, Iâve never been there and I really want to go.
21. Take pictures in a photo booth with either a guy that I like or a friend, it seems fun.
22. Play Hide N Seek in a store. If you get caught by a store clerk, pull a Velma. âMy glasses, I canât see without my glasses.â
23. Have a scary movie marathon.
24. Have boys vs. girlâs water balloon fight⦠probably wonât happen. But one can dream, right?
25. Have someone win me a giant stuffed animal. And again, one can dream, right?
26. Get a boyfriend⦠and I repeat, one can dream!
When Jessie finally finished her list, she was snorting in laughter at mine and I was cooing sweetly at hers. You can tell that she was a more romantic girl than I was. I was more âfun and entertainmentâ and hers was more âletâs settle down and have babies.â We had one in common and she noticed that around the same time I did.
âWe have one in common! âHave a scary movie marathon!â Letâs do that tonight!â She said, smiling. I nodded my head.
âIâm going to go shower. You set up and find the scariest movies possible!â She said, smiling widely as she walked towards my shower with her overnight bag in her hands. I nodded and she glanced at the window before looking at me with a wink. I glared at her before I walked over to my movie cabinet and searching through it for any scary movies.
âScary movies⦠scary moviesâ¦â I kept muttering as I searched the large cabinet. So far, I was coming up with nothing. I remember throwing out all of my scary movies because my Aunt went as far as to make a shrine of them overnight so when I woke up, I had a face full of âItâ, âNightmare on Elm Streetâ, and a bunch of others that caused me to dart out of my room, screaming and crying.
âBOO!â A shout behind me startled me and I attempted to stand up but just resulted in bumping my head and falling with a lifeless âthud.â I turned around to see Adrian leaning out of his window laughing at my expense.
âYou jerk!â I said, rubbing the top of my head as I walked over to the window, preparing to close it but his eyes caught something over my shoulder. I internally prayed that it wasnât Jessie who decided to exit the bathroom in pajama pants and a bra. Sheâs done it before, the girl has no shame. Instead, he saw the cupcakes and he smiled at me, charmingly.
âCupcakes.â He exclaimed, smiling at me. I smiled back, walking over to the cupcakes and grabbing one. I slowly bit into it, smirking. He watched me, furrowing his eyebrows. âAre you trying to seduce me?â
His question caused me to choke on the bite of cupcake I was attempting to chew. I hunched over, hacking and coughing.
âIs this your sick way of getting me to give you the Heimlich maneuver? Youâre disgusting, Fiona. And I thought you were different,â He joked and I found myself laughing instead of choking now. When he noticed this, he proceeded to beg for a cupcake. âCan I have a cupcake? A vanilla one?â He asked, eyeing the tray before his eyes met mine.
âWhatâs the magic word?â I quizzed and he smiled.
âPlease.â He asked, widening his eyes and blinking rapidly. I found this adorable but I decided to tease him.
âAre you trying to seduce me?â I asked, giving him a flat look and he winked.
âYeah right, I bet you dream about me. You probably want to make out with me right now.â He teased and I snorted.
âI do dream about you.â I smiled flirtatiously at him. He nodded, as if urging me to continue speaking. âYou were in a bed.â I spoke. He blinked at me, nodding. âA hospital bed because I pushed you down a flight of stairs. The magic word was pumpernickel. No cupcake for you.â I teased him, smirking as his face fell.
âFour for you Fiona, You GO Fiona! ....And none for Adrian Easton. Bye.â Adrian announced and I stared at him, shocked. Did he- did he just quote Mean Girls? He gave me a confused look before he realized what he did.
âYou just quoted Mean Girls.â I informed him and he coughed awkwardly.
âNo, I didnât. Iâve never seen that movie!â He announced. I gave him a flat look before sighing.
âHere.â I said, handing him a vanilla cupcake. He smiled.
âI did quote Mean Girls.â He said. I snorted, nodding my head. He acts as if I didnât know.
âSo, what were you doing in that cabinet? And why do you have a tray of 9 cupcakes in your room? And why do you have two notebooks out? Why are there markers around? And why are you in your pajamas already? Itâs only 10:30. You normally change at 11.â He quizzed. I stared at him for a minute.
âI was looking for scary movies. Jessie made cupcakes for our sleepover. We were making bucket lists and youâre creepy for knowing that.â I announced.
âYouâre having a sleepover? And Jessie made these? And you made bucket lists? And hey, I get a fun show at 11 oâclock.â He smirked and I rolled my eyes.
âYes, yes, yes, and thatâs gross.â I muttered, rolling my eyes. âNow itâs my turn for the interrogation. Why are you sweating so much? Why are you even up? And do you have any scary movies?â I asked him, using the last question to benefit me.
âSome of us actually went to school for the full day. After school, I went to the diner with my friends where we ate. Then I had football practice for 2 hours, baseball practice for 2 hours, and then I ran half a mile. I then came home, proceeded to eat and then I ran a mile and then came back home. I didnât get a chance to shower yet. And again I repeat, itâs only 10:30 P.M. And I have a whole entire boatload. Why?â He asked, raising an eyebrow.
âJessie and I are having a scary movie marathon and I donât have any scary movies.â I said, raising an eyebrow. He nodded, smirking.
âWell, Iâll let you borrow my movies.â He smiled. I nodded, smiling. âBut, wherever my movies go- I go.â He smiled innocently. I felt myself glaring at him.
âBut itâll be Jessie, you and me and I really donât need you try-.â I started to say but he cut me off.
âProblem solved, Trent is actually coming over here because we were going to go over game plays-but change of plans. You do need those movies⦠right?â He asked, smirking. I nodded, smiling sweetly.
âYeah, I guess we do-.â I tried to speak but he cut me off again.
âYeah, I thought so.â He grinned.
âIs your name Kanye West?â I asked him and he furrowed his eyebrows and shook his head. âThen stop interrupting me.â I glared, crossing my arms. He laughed loudly and I rolled my eyes.
âWe have a lot to talk about, and why not do it over a movie marathon?â He asked, grinning. I rolled my eyes but couldnât deny the smile taking over.
âYou need to shower first.â I said, shaking my head. He laughed before he smiled flirtatiously.
âCare to join me?â He asked and I doubled over in laughter as he rolled his eyes. âIâll be over there in 30?â He asked. I nodded. He began walking off and he turned back.
âAnd that offer is still on the table.â He called and I rolled my eyes, turning back towards my room when Jessie stood in the bathroom doorway.
âWhoa.â She stared at me in shock.
âWhat?â I asked, furrowing my eyebrows.
âTake up that offer.â She winked and I rolled my eyes. Not her, too.
___
âAunt Cherry, can I ask you something?â I asked innocently as I approached her room, well the guest room that she stays in when sheâs here. She furrowed her eyebrows.
âWhat is it?â She asked, letting me and Jessie in. Jessie and I already devised a plan to allow my Aunt to let Trent and Adrian have a movie marathon over here with us.
âYou know how you always tell me to broaden my friendship circle? Well, I am and I need your permission for something." I gave her an innocent smile. She furrowed her eyebrows, nodding for me to continue. âDo you know the boy next door? Adrian Easton?â I asked and my Aunt nodded. This was Jessieâs part to move in.
âWell, he has this friend named Trent. And Fiona and I know them pretty well, if I do say so myself, and theyâre nice guys.â She smiled at me to continue.
âWell, we made a bucket list and on that bucket list was to have a scary movie marathon. And since I threw out all of my scary movies and Jessie has none with her, Adrian has told me that he has some scary movies. He said heâd let me borrow them and I invited him over, seeing as Iâd better return the favor. But his friend Trent is also with him and we canât leave poor Trent out. So we invited him as well. But we need to do this under your supervision. Can you approve?â I asked, smiling innocently as I placed my hands under my chin and blinked rapidly. Jessie mocked my action and my Aunt snorted, looking between the two of us.
âSure.â She said, smiling at us. âBut I have a few rulesâ¦â She informed us.
And that is how I was planning to spend my Friday night: in my living room with Adrian Easton, watching scary movies.
