Originally, she had applied a cold and glamorous makeup.
Now, it was starting to smear.
Xia Yangyang decided to cleanse all her makeup and revealed her natural face.
Having spent so much time in the United States and being exposed to the sun and wind for her interviews, Xia Yangyangâs skin had tanned.
However, she was born with fair skin.
Since returning to her home country not too long ago, her skin has regained its fairness.
After removing her makeup, Xia Yangyang looked at herself in the mirror and felt a lot more comfortable.
She casually tousled her hair.
Then, she exited her bedroom.
Outside, the lilting strains of a waltz filled the air.
Xia Yangyang stood at the corridor on the second floor, observing the grand hall below.
Princess Anna was having an opening dance with Li Zhiqian.
Then, some people around them joined in, gracefully moving onto the dance floor.
Such a scene easily brought to mind fairy tales of princes and princesses.
Old luxurious castles, shiny and colorful crystal chandeliers, a nostalgic band, and a prince and princess dancing hand in hand.
From this perspective, Li Zhiqian and Princess Anna seemed rather well-matched.
Though there was apparently a significant age difference between them.
But then again, knowing that Li Zhiqian prefers women like Phoenix.@@novelbin@@
Anna and Phoenix were in fact poles apart.
One was a rose, growing on the cliff face, fiery and passionate; the other a delicate orchid, grown in a greenhouse.
Presumably, Li Zhiqian wouldnât be interested in a princess like Anna.
Engrossed in watching the two, Xia Yangyang frowned slightly.
She didnât notice a tall figure slowly ascending the staircase, coming to stand beside her.
âYour Brother Li doesnât seem to care about you. He abandoned you to please the little princess. Such a mercenary man, what exactly do you like about him?â
It was Gu Qi Chen again!
Xia Yangyang turned her head: âMr. Gu, are you a ghost? You just wonât leave.â
Meeting Gu Qi Chen always seemed to spell trouble for Xia Yangyang.
Gu Qi Chen had also changed his clothes.
He had removed his formal wear.
Replacing it with a casual suit.
But it made him look even more handsome and dashing.
Gu Qi Chen raised an eyebrow at Xia Yangyang: âWhatâs the matter, did I touch a nerve? Now, youâre taking your anger out on me. Here I thought you were capable of much more, Xia Yangyang. It seems youâre just as I expected.â
Xia Yangyang was indeed angry, very angry.
Though she didnât understand exactly why she was angry.
Gu Qi Chen always had a way to infuriate her effortlessly.
Xia Yangyang retorted sharply: âMr. Gu, shouldnât you be by your fiancéeâs side now? You criticize others, but youâre no different from them. In fact, if weâre talking about hypocrisy, Mr. Gu, youâre second to none.â
Xia Yangyang was clearly angry.
However, Gu Qi Chen felt inexplicably delighted seeing Xia Yangyang retort angrily.
At least now, Xia Yangyangâs focus was not on other men.
Gu Qi Chen smiled, adopting a gentlemanly pose: âHow about it, would you like to dance with your ex-husband?â
Xia Yangyang found Gu Qi Chen incomprehensible, he seemed to be in a good mood despite her scolding.
Could it be that during the past four years he had developed a taste for masochism?
Xia Yangyang had no interest in dancing with him.
She simply refused, turned, and prepared to descend the stairs.
But Gu Qi Chen grabbed her arm and forcefully led her, step by step, onto the dance floor.
