I locked my phone and put it in my kangaroo pouch on my white Life Angels hoodie.
"BABE, IM COMING DOWN!" I heard Angel's heels as she came down the stairs.
I looked up to see her standing at the end of them in her matching white hoodie, light denim jeans, and some light brown boots that came all the way up to her knees. She accessorized it with the iced out rolex watch I brought her as a gift for tonight.
"How do I look?" She asked smiling doing a 360 spin. While she did that, I watched her, admiring her beauty.
I looked at how the jeans she had on hugged her curves perfectly. How simple her makeup was. How her natural lip color, that I loved so much, peeked through her light pink lipgloss. How her long, straight, silky black hair flowed down her back; not a hair was out of place.
Even in the simplest form, she was still shined brighter than any star.
I got up from the couch and walked over to her. Leaning down, I placed a soft peck on her lips. "You look fantastic beautiful..." I whispered to her.
"Awwww, thank you baby..." She cooed and kissed me again.
"Alright, come on. Let's go." I said as I headed to the door. "Okay..." She grabbed her purse off the couch and we both rushed out the door.

"David babe slow down..." I said as I pushed Kairi's car seat stroller through The Blue Carpet's parking lot, mugging him. This nigga was speed walking to get into the building.
"We wasting time Mama. We wasting time. It's already 7:00. Gotta pick up the pace." He said ignoring me.
He opened the door to the venue for me to go in. I pushed Kai's stroller in and all heads turned to me.
"ANGELLLL!" Everybody in the building yelled my name excitedly.
"HIII!" I smiled from ear to ear seeing the building packed with all of my friends and family.
Every single person in here had on a set of scrubs that I designed. Including those who weren't in the medical field. Hell, even every nigga in Dave's crew had one on.
Everyone laughed as I playfully shoved Dave. "Did you know about this?!"
He smiled and nodded his head. "Everyone preordered one and me and Mama collected the money."
"You told them they couldn't get in without one on huh?" I smirked at him.
"Pretty much!" Mama Faye said coming up and hugging me. Dave took Kia's stroller and walked across the room to where his crew was.
"Ooooo Maaaaa, you look cuteee!" I said examining her bright purple scrub set that had the zipper going across the chest.
"Oooh thank you girl! Got me wanting to reconsider my career!" We both laughed. "You so crazy!"
"And my baby daddy said my ass look good in it girl..." She whispered to me.
I drew back and quickly looked at her up and down. "Yo baby daddy? Ma, don't you got a new man?..." I asked lowly with my eyebrows furrowed.
She smacked her lips and waved me off. "Guh, that nigga still want me."
"OOP! MAMAAAA STOPPPP!" I exclaimed with my mouth open.
"I'm fine girl. I'm fine! They all want me! Hey hey!" I giggled watching her sashay away to the kitchen.
Kendall and Zoie ran up to me.
"Bestfran! You see me right? You see me?" Kendall asked as he did different poses in his bright green scrubs.
"No bestfran, DO YOU SEE ME?" Zoie asked and stuck his butt out.
Stephanie came in between them and pushed them out the way. "FIRST OF ALL... This is MY best friend... No I'm not sharing. SECOND OF ALL... Do you see me best fran?!" She turned around and bent over.
"Oooh yesss! I see all of these fat asses in these uniforms!" I whined.
Zoie pulled out his phone and put the camera on Ken and Steph.
"Okay y'all, these are some pieces from Angel's scrub line! Not only does she have scrubs for women, she has them for men as well!" Ken put his hands on his hips and looked out into the distance.
"And as y'all can see, it fits the body oh so well. See look at all that ass." I snickered as he zoomed in on Steph's ass.
She began to twerk, making her ass move. "THICK! THICK! THICK! THICK! I CANT EVEN PASS ON HER! SHE WALK AROUND WITH ALL THAT DAMN ASS ON HER!" We hyped her singing Thick by O.T. Genesis.
Everybody in the room busted out laughing when Jaceyon came over, threw her over his shoulder, and walked away.
"I KNOW HE FUCKIN LYINNNN!" Zoie said to his phone.
"Come on boo, go make your rounds. We gone be at that table over there!" Kendall pointed to the other side of the room.
I nodded my head. "Alright!"
"Wait Ken! We gotta take her pictures first!" Zoie and Kendall pulled me to the front of the room to a table that had my merch sitting on it.
"Okay stand beside your poster, look at it, and smile." Ken directed me and I did as I was told.
"Yessss, get into it..." Zoie said with his phone held up. I seen a flash go off in the corner of my eye.
"Okay now go stand in front of the table and the poster and smile." He pointed to the small space in between them.
"Okay." I mumbled and did what I was told. I seen another flash go off.
"Alright boo! We'll be over there!" Zoie said. Him and Kendall walked away.
I began to walk around the room and instantly spotted Sunny and Star looking absolutely adorable in their red and purple scrubs.
"Angelll!" They yelled in unison; almost knocking me down with a hug.
"Awwwwww, look at my little nurses in training!" I said smiling as they let me go.
"Why thank you! We're wearing designs of Angel Love..." Star said doing a little spin. "Yes, nurse, cousin, and friend..." Sunny co-signed her.
I giggled at them. "Yesss fucking ma'am!"
I furrowed my eyebrows looking around not seeing Ava. "Where's Ava? Did you guys bring her?"
"Girl no, she's with her daddy. Thank you lord!" Me and Star laughed shouted and waved her hand in the air.
"Oop, don't do that! I miss my boo..." I fake frowned. "You just don't know Angel. She's a handful girl..."
I then looked over to my right and my eyes landed on a brown skinned woman sitting at a table by herself. She was looking down tapping on her phone.
I wonder who that is...
"Hey y'all, go sit over there with Zoie, Kendall, and Steph. I'll be over there in a minute." I said to Sunny and Star.
"Alright boo." They nodded their heads and walked away.
I began to make my over to where the woman was sitting to say hi. But when she looked up and I got to see her face, I instantly got excited.
"MOMMYYY!" I squealed like a little kid and ran over to her. I leaned down and hugged her tightly. "Heyyy mommy baby!" She exclaimed squeezing me back.
"I missed you..." I whispered and sat down in her lap. "Wait a minute! Ha, Angel! You're to big!" She laughed and groaned at the same time.
"No I'm not!" I replied back laughing. "Yes you are! You gone hurt me girl, get up!" She continued to laugh.
"No Mommy!" I threw my head back and whined. "Who did your hair? It's beautiful..." I said running my hands through it. "I almost didn't recognize you."
"Thank you! I did." She said smiling. "You did?"
"Mmhm."
I wasn't surprised at all. My mom was always had a thing for doing hair. She was good at it too.
When I was a little girl, she always kept my hair done up nice and neat. I always had the latest hairstyles.
I guess that's why my natural hair is so long and healthy now: my mom took good care of it when I was a child.
"You think you can start back doing mine? My natural hair went through a little funk after having Kairi..."
She furrowed her brows and examined my hair. I held my head down as she touched my leave out. "Yeah, yeah... I'm sure we can get it back right."
"Mmkay..." I held my head back up smiling.
"Why you sitting over here by yourself Mom?" I touched her light pink nail polish that was on her finger nails.
"Because I don't know anybody! And then I couldn't find you so, I thought I'd just sit here for a minute." She just shrugged her shoulders.
I squinted my eyes and scanned the entire room, looking for Mama Faye. I spotted her and David sitting at a table together.
I grabbed her hands and hopped up off her lap. "Come on Ma."
"Wait, what? Where are we going Angel?" She looked at me genuinely confused.
"Come onnnnnn..." I dragged out, lightly tugging her. "Okay, okay!" She grabbed her things and I pulled her all the way to Miss Faye's table.
They looked up at us and smiled. Dave stood up and gave my mom a big hug. "Hey Ma!"
"Hey baby!" She said hugging him back.
I went and stood by Miss Faye. "Mom, this is Faye Brewster, David's mother..."
"And Mom, this is Caroline Marie, Angel's mother." David said to Mama Faye.
"Now y'all mingle." Me and Dave said in unison cheesing. We hurried away so they couldn't stop us or ask any questions.
"Woo, baby I'm glad you came over there. I was just telling my mom to go over and talk to yours. Perfect timing." He said to me.
"Yes, teamwork. Teamwork.." We high fived each other and we walked over to his crew.
"Hey lil head." Jaceyon greeted me dryly as he sipped on his drink. I stuck a bird up at him.
"Wassup Angel!" G pulled me into a tight hug. "Hey G! Thank you for coming!" I smiled at him.
"We're glad to be here babygirl. I'm so proud of you..." He said smiling back. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked around. "We're?"
"Yeah! Me and M..." He lightly chuckled.
My eyes grew wide. "What? She's here? Where is she?!" I asked excitedly.
He stepped to the side and revealed a beautiful dark skinned girl standing behind him.

"MAGGIE!" "ANGEL!" We both squealed and ran into each other's arms.
"Oh my gosh, I didn't even see you!!! Why you over here with all these damn niggas?!" I slightly slapped her shoulder.

"BITCH YOU AIN'T SHY!" Steph came out of nowhere and put her arm around her. "Yeah come over here and sit with us girl!" Kendall yelled from across the room.
"Umm, I don't know..." She said shaking her head looking at G. She was very hesitant. Maggie really doesn't have any friends; she's very quiet and timid.
Me and Stephanie were introduced to her at Big G's 42nd birthday bash months ago.
Jd and Dave said that she was very excited to finally be able to meet us. But when we got there, she wouldn't even talk to us...
Whenever Steph and I would try to make conversation with her, she would just give us one word answers back and not say anything else after that. It was almost as if she was uncomfortable.
We thought it was very weird because she appeared to be very friendly online. We just came to the conclusion that maybe she was just stuck up or something.
When we told Dave and Jd what happened, they explained to us how she was very shy and not really used to being around a lot people.
They also told us that when she was younger, her parents would chain her up and lock her in the basement for long periods of time; leaving her there alone with her thoughts.
To say that we were shocked was an understatement... Looking at her, you'd never guess that she went through something like that.
It took her a minute, but eventually she came around to me and Stephanie. She's such a sweet person.
The only person she's really not shy around is her husband, Big G.
"Go make some friends baby. They good peoples Ma... I'll be right here if you need me." G assured her and kissed her on the cheek.
"Um, alright!" She replied back excitedly and we pulled her away with us.

She laughed and nodded her head. "Yeah, that's me..."
"Yes ma'am girl! You better get that COINT." Kendall said to her and slapped her hand.
Just as they said that, two of our favorite nurses walked up.
"Ummm, ain't nobody tell me we was sitting over here..." Summer said rolling her neck looking beautiful in her red scrub set.
"Girl shut the hell up and just sit down!" Zoie scolded to her.
She hurried over to him and squared up. "Wassup Zoie?!"
"Girl..." We chuckled as he pushed both of his hands out like he was trying to stop something. "Please okay."
"Yeah y'all could've told us some!" Lauren said sitting down next to me.
"Had us sitting over there with they messy asses." She threw her head over to where all the nurses that we really don't fuck with we're sitting.
"Chile ain't they messy..." Stephanie said looking at them. "Righttt.." Zoie co-signed behind her.
"And what I'm tryna figure out is if they claim to not like us so much, then why they here?" Summer asked with her face scrunched up.
"Chile to be messy! That's all. All they gonna do is run and tell the other nurses at the hospital all that happened here. Ooh I can't stand they asses... I dare them to say some..." Steph turned her nose up looking at them.
"Right! Ima stop they asses quick! 'WAT WUZ IT?!'" We all laughed at Zoie as he looked at them.

"Can I get everyone's attention please?" My voice boomed through the room as I spoke into the mic. All the chatter stopped and everyone looked at the front of the room.
"I want to thank each and every last one of you for coming out and supporting me one this special night! Thank you guys for all your love and the hard earned money you spent on my designs! You guys being here really means a lot..." Cooes went around the room as my voice cracked.
Dave came and pulled me into a side hug.
"But it's almost 8PM and as you know, that's the time that the site launches! I would really like it if you guys would join me in the countdown to it..." I looked up at the projection of the countdown on the wall.
"Alright everybody join in! 10..."
"9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1!" Everyone in the room screamed as my website popped up, now being eligible to shop on it.
My phone began to vibrate and ring out of control. I looked down at it and seeing that they were all notifications from PayPal saying that I was receiving payments from different people.
"Dave, they won't stop coming... It just keeps popping up..." I said looking at all the notifications continuing to come to my phone.
"How does that feel Mama?" Dave asked smirking at me.
"It- it feels good..." I looked up at him and smiled.

I laid back on Angel's bed and sighed. After a long night of celebrating Angel's launch, we were finally back home.
I just got done giving Kairi her bath and put her down for bed while Angel was taking a shower.
Now, I get to relax.
That's when I heard the loud cry of Kairi down the hall. "Spoke to soon..." I sighed getting up and walking into her room.
"What's the matter daddy's big girl? I left you to soon?" I cooed to her as I picked her up and sat down in the rocking chair. Her cries began to soften as I rocked her back and forth.
She opened her big brown eyes and looked up at me with a frown on her face.
"Ohhhh, I know what's wrong... You want someone to sing to you like Mommy does huh? Huh Mama? Alright I got one I can sing to you..." I cleared my throat.
"I ain't asked nan nigga for nun, I took the harder way. 12 pulled me over caught me with the dope, they took my hard away. Hardaway, har-" In the middle of rapping Hardaway by Derek De'Shon, Kai burst into tears again.
And this time, it was much louder than the first.
"What you don't like that?" I frowned looking at her cute little face.
"Alright alright, let's sing another one! Hmmm, lets see..." My brain was all over the place trying to figure out what songs Angel would sing to her.
One song that Angel always plays then popped up in my head. "I got one Kai! I know you've heard this one before..."
