Our shift ended earlier than expected, so we all get to go home early. I went to the nurses station to get my things, only to see Stephanie there. I rolled my eyes in my head.

I stood beside her and picked my jacket up off the chair. I looked at her out of the side of my eye. I sighed. I wanted to say something to her so bad, but it's like a I couldn't...

Just as she was about to walk away to leave, Zoie's loud ass come and stood in between the small space of us, distracting her.

"Ugh... Aren't you guys just so happy that we get to get off early?" He said as he grabbed our shoulders and pulled us into a group hug.

Me and Stephanie tried to push off him, but that only made his grip tighter.

"I just love you guys... I'm so glad we're all friends..." He said as he closed his eyes and smiled.

"OOH! I knew it was some I had to tell y'all! Y'all how bout Dr. Bryant-" He stopped once he saw the uncomfortable look on our faces.

"What the hell wrong with y'all? Every since y'all got back from that grand opening, y'all been acting funny towards each other." He looked in between us.

"AND GODDAMMIT I AM SICK OF BEING IN THE MIDDLE!" He raised his voice and me and Steph snickered. It's so hard to take his mmm seriously.

"Let's go to the CLOSET. NOW!" He pointed towards the closet and stomped that way.

Once we got in, he didn't waste any time.

"See what we NOT finna do is stop being friends over some petty shit. So one of y'all spill the tea." He said moving his hand back and forth.

I sighed and told him the entire story.

"I'm about to cuss both of y'all asses out...." He said, rubbing his temples.

"First off... YES GOD STEPHANIE FOR THAT GOOD OLE SLAP TO THE FACE!" He yelled as we snickered.

"I know you were trying to help... But you shouldn't have gotten in her business like that, especially without her permission... And you shouldn't have done that at his event either." She nodded her head and looked down.

"HELL I WISH I HAD SOMEBODY SLAP A BITCH FOR ME... HELL, I HOPE YALL WOULD DO THAT FOR ME!" He threw his hands up in the air.

"You were way out of line for taking your anger out on her and talking to her the way you did. And honestly, I don't know whether to be disappointed in you or proud of you because GIRL... "Y'all need to fix this.. Yupp y'all need to fix this and now. I'll be a the nurses station." He opened the door.

"Y'all asses got me staying here after my shift over. I KNOW y'all lyin..." He mumbled as he shut the door.

I sighed.

"I'm sorry." We both said to each other.

"You were right about everything... I shouldn't have done that Angel.. I'm so so sorry.." She said looking at me with tears coming down her face.

She came over and hugged me, making sure not to squish my belly. "I love you so much... I missed you like hell... I'm getting tired of Jd about all my girl problems." I chuckled.

"I love you to- WAITTT... Did you just say Jd?" I pushed her back to look at her face. "Last time I checked, y'all weren't speaking..." I said smirking.

"Girl after the grand opening, I listened to you and I stopped by his house to talk him. I told him about me and my parents relationship and why I was the way I was..." I gasped.

"Girl you told him about your parents?" I whispered.

She nodded her head. "And I told him about Glenn..." "OOP! Girl what did he say?!" My mouth was open.

"He asked me why I didn't tell him everything and I told him I didn't know how... He then told me how I was his woman and was always his woman and how he so in love with me and how we gonna get married and have babies, and then he made sweet, SWEET love to me, and GIRL.." She rolled her eyes to the back of her head. "Girl we've been together ever since... He's just been loving all on me and I'm just so so happy..." She cried. Tears came to my eyes. "Awwe..." I cooed and put my hands over my mouth.

"Even with Glenn?" "Bitch even with Glenn..." Her voice got deep.

We both laughed. "Angel I missed you.." "I missed you too Steph..."

"Let's not ever do that again okay?" She said to me. "Mmkay." I said nodding my head. She opened the door and walked out holding hands.

"Have you spoken to David?" She looked at me. We walked in the direction of the nurses station. "Yeah I'm going to meet him somewhere now."

"Okay that's good!" She said and we stopped at the nurses station. Zoe's head popped up from around the counter.

"AAHHHH YALL MADE UPPP! AH! AH! AH! AHH!" He stuck his tongue out and twerked.

"Bitch come on, let's get out of here." I said in between laughs.

I arrived at the location Dave sent me: it was a park... Am I at the right place?

I took out my phone to text him.

I place my phone back in my pocket. I followed down the curvy cement path that was surrounded by grass.

"Good.." He said as he held my back. I squatted down and sat on the ground. He then sat in front of me Indian style.

"How's the gym?" I asked him. He smiled. "Oh my gosh it's great! It's doing so well! It's becoming one of the most successful gyms in NY already."

"Oh my gosh that's great!!! I'm so proud of you!" I exclaimed. "Thank you..." He nodded his head.

"This is beautiful David, really.." I said taking everything in. I grabbed a strawberry and popped it in my mouth. "Thank you, I really did try my best." We both laughed and an awkward silence took over.

He put his head down. "Angel I'm sorry... I really a-" I stopped him. "Dave stop... I know you may think that I'm mad at you, but I'm not..." He looked up at me.

I sighed. "David I really do understand that you're ready for a family, and I respect that. I get that you weren't going to wait on me forever. I just want you to be happy. As long as you're happy, then I'm happy..." He grabbed both of my hands and kissed them.

"Are you happy?" I looked into his eyes. I couldn't read anything and that scared me so much. It was something that he was hiding from me.

"Y-yeah.. I mean I am..." He looked down.

I put my finger under his chin and picked up his head with my finger. "Are you lying to me?" He opened his mouth to say something, but then put his head down.

I sighed. I argued with my myself about if I should tell him what I saw or not. Something in my gut was telling me that he he wouldn't believe me...

"David?" I called out for him. "Yes mama?"

"I think I wanna go see my father." I whispered. "What?" He looked at me. "I wanna go talk to my father." I looked up at him.

"What? But why Angel?!" He raised his voice.

"I've been having these dreams about my past every night for the past few months..." I said.

He let out an aggravated sigh. "I need closure David!" I yelled. He looked away from me. "And I need your support... I can't do this on my own..." I felt a tear fall out of my eye.

"Angel are you SURE about this?" "Yes Dave.." I whispered.

"Alright... Well, I'll support you one hundred percent." He crawled over to me and kissed my cheeks. "And. You. Not. Going. To. See. Him. Alone. Either." He said in between kisses. I giggled.

"Okay okay!" I pushed him back. "I'm going to be there every step of the way." He looked into my eyes.

"Mmkay.." I lightly smiled.

I all of a sudden felt a movement in my stomach that I never felt before. I was taken back. "Woo..." I said holding my stomach. I looked down at it.

"What? What's wrong?" He said frantically. I took his hand and put it on my stomach. I moved it around.

"Oh my god... Is that her?" He smiled. I straight faced him. "Yeah thats HIM."

"Whatever." He rolled his eyes and continued to feel the baby kick my stomach. He put his face to my belly and lifted up my shirt.

"Hey Daddy little butt, how you doing mama?" He cooed. I loved hearing his little baby voice. He kissed my stomach.

"Ow!" He held the side of his face. "What??" I asked.

"Alright, you hungry?" He asked me. "UGH IM STARVING." I said rolling my eyes.

I kissed Jd slightly and rubbed his chest, trying to wake him up. After I got off of work, I went to the store and got everything I need to make dinner. When I got here, he was laying on the couch, knocked the fuck out.

"Babyyy, come on. Get upppp." I said slightly shaking him. He pulled a gun from his pants and jumped up. It made me jump. "Baby it's just me! It's just me!" I yelled.

"Fuck Steph!" He yelled and put the gun down. I put my head into his neck and wrapped my arms around him.

"Shit..." He whispered. I began to chuckle and he started shortly after me. Our laughter died down. "Damn I'm sorry baby..." He whispered to me.

"It's okay... Its okay." I said sitting up. He put the gun on the coffee table. "Baby you know you can't be waking me up like that... What you doing home so early anyway?" He asked yawning. Damn he fine... For him to be 40, he damn shoal hell don't look like it.

He peeked my lips and laid back down.

"We got off work early today..." I said, rubbing his chest.

"Mm... Baby it smell good in here..." He sniffed the air. I smirked. "I cooked while you were sleeping. You were so tired I didn't wanna wake you."

He smiled. "You did?" He held onto my hips.

"Yes I did.." I gazed at him. He sat up. "Oooo! I'm finna go fix me some to eat." He got up but I pushed him down.

"No baby. I'll get it.." I got up. "You gonna fix it?" He asked softly. "Yes Daddy, I am." I stood up. "Mmm..."

As soon as I turned around, he smacked my ass. I giggled and walked away from him, making sure to twist extra hard.

"MMMMM MM GIRL!" He called after me. He just don't know, I already had his plate fixed.

I grabbed it off the counter and got him a cold beer out the refrigerator. I walked back into the living room. As he seen me coming, he licked his lips together and rubbed his hands together.

I sat the beer on table and sat down in his lap. "Okay we have steak, mashed potatoes, greens, mac and cheese, yams, cornbread muffins, and for dessert: peach cobbler."

"Oooh shit!!" He yelled. I picked up the fork and dug into the mac and cheese first. I blew the smoke that was coming off of it.

"Babyy" He whined. "Okay okay.." I said as I placed the food in his mouth. He closed his eyes and threw his head back. "Mmmmmm..."

Halfway through feeding Jaceyon and his moaning, I decided to ask him about his day since he's always catering to me.

He swallowed his food. "It was crazy babe... I mean I'm juggling running the warehouse and working at the gym and helping Dave out."

Once Dave left the game, he passed it down to Jd. He's the only person he trusts and it's not like he could turn him down: Jd is the only person who knows the streets from front to back and all the in betweens. He also gave him a job at the gym. Dave asked him to go into business with him, but Jd isn't ready yet. Lately he's been so tired. Hopefully he quits the game soon and takes up on David's offer.

"Awww you've been working so hard lately.." I kissed him. "Why won't you just let the streets go altogether?" I gave him puppy dog eyes.

"Baby I can't just drop it just like that! You have to plan for that." He exclaimed.

"But baby I just don't like it! I want you at home when I come home from work. I'm tired of you coming in late at night... You lucky I trust you. Any other woman would've thought her nigga was cheating." I whined.

"Babe I'm doing this for you! You want me to bring home the money don't you? How we gonna pay for that nice big ring you want and that big expensive ass wedding if I don't work?" I frowned.

"We can just get married in the back yard... We don't have to have money..." I whined.

"And how am I gonna spoil you and buy you all the shit you want and need if I don't work? And not to mention if we trying to start a family... You need money to take care of a child Stephanie. I don't want you to touch any of your money at all. I wanna take care of you." He grabbed my chin.

"But it's not about the money Jaceyon! You have more than enough money! I just want you at home with me..." I sat his now clean plate on the table and put my head in his shoulder.

"I know baby... I know. Ima stop though.. Alright? Just let me stack my money up a little bit more... Just imagine if I do quit the game my business doesn't go as well as we thought it would. Ima have to rely on my stash." I sighed knowing he was right.

That nigga had 800k hidden and put up somewhere. He won't tell me where it is though. He said it's only for a big ass emergency.

"Ugh, okay.." I whispered. He looked down at me. "Hey don't look like that... You don't think I don't wanna come home to you and that wet pussy every night? Hmm?" We snickered.

"Jd stop tryna make me laugh! I'm serious!" I said pushing him. "Me too!"

"What about your day?" He asked me. "Oh it was great! I talked to Angel..." He smiled.

"Did you apologize Stephanie?" "Yes!" I huffed.

"So y'all back cool now?" "Yesss babe.." I drug out. "Good!"

I got up and grabbed his plate. "Where you going baby?"

"I'm going to put the food up and clean." He grabbed his beer off the table. "Iight.."

I walked out and soon heard the TV.

After I was done, I cut the kitchen light off. I walked into the living room and leaned against the wall.

"Jd! Come on... It's time to get in the bed." He turned the TV off and got up. He turned the lights out and grabbed his beer.

He walked up to me and gripped my ass. I held onto his shirt and kissed him. I turned around in his embrace. He put his face in my neck and wrapped his arms around my waist. I smiled as he placed sweet, soft kisses on my neck.

We began to walk upstairs. Once we got in the room, he got undressed and pulled the covers back. I couldn't help but to stare at his huge print through his boxers.

He got in the bed. I went into the bathroom and took a shower. After I got out, I lotioned up.

I got my lingerie that was hanging off the door and slid into it.

I fixed my hair a little bit. I then sprayed Jaceyon's favorite perfume on my neck.

I examined myself in the mirror. I cut off the light off and slowly stepped out of the bathroom.

He looked up and saw me. He sat up. His mouth hung up as I slowly walked over to him.

He didn't take his eyes off me not one time.
