Chapter 9

Falling for the Mafia Brothers768 words~4 min read

After the little outburst from Max and Dimitri, Kyle found herself back in Dimitri’s bedroom with both men.

“Am I in trouble?” she asked them.

“No, ~myshka~,” Dimitri said while placing a kiss on her forehead.

“I’m sorry that I caused an issue.”

“Nonsense. If anything, you showed us that we have a problem,” Max said.

“I don’t understand,” she said nervously.

“We like you, and we are used to getting what we want when we want it, but you . . . you’re not.

“You’re innocent and are required to be here, so we need to slow down and make you feel more like a guest instead of a prisoner,” Max explained.

“But isn’t that what I am?”

“Far from it, little bee. You like us, and you respond to us. You’re just stubborn.” Max gave her a smile. “I can prove it right now that you not only like us, but you want to be with us.”

Max and Dimitri liked seeing Kyle embarrassed.

Kyle didn’t know how to handle the topic of sex. She knew the basics, but her brother never really made the talk of sex comfortable, so she didn’t know how to handle Max and Dimitri.

Max and Dimitri left Kyle at the house while they attended to some things. They gave strict orders to Anatoli that Kyle was not allowed to leave the house.

“When are they set to be shipped out?” Max asked one of the men guarding the shipment.

“At 3 a.m.,” he responded.

Dimitri looked at his watch. “In two hours?”

“Yes…”

“Is everything going to be ready in two hours?” Max interrupted.

“It should be,” the man responded.

“Good. If anything happens to this shipment like the last one, it’s your life on the line,” Max threatened.

The shipment was supposed to be sent to Russia. It contained everything from guns to drugs and was a significant source of income for their organization.

Max had a feeling that the person who wanted to take him out had ties to Russia since there seemed to be a mole within their organization.

“Let’s leave them be and get back home,” Dimitri stated.

“If anything happens, let us know,” Max said, walking out with his brother.

As they were approaching the car, Max noticed a black SUV driving toward them and tried to yell out to warn Dimitri and the bodyguards, but the SUV started shooting at them.

Both Max and Dimitri got out their guns and started shooting back. Both bodyguards were down, and the guys were trying to make it to the car to take cover.

Just as they approached the vehicle, a bullet hit Dimitri.

“Dimitri!” Max yelled. Max ran to Dimitri to help him up. When they made it to the car, Max shoved Dimitri into the back and got in the driver’s seat.

“Are you okay?” Max frantically asked Dimitri.

“~Da~. Just get me to a doctor.” The bullet had hit his shoulder area, and he was bleeding through everything Max tried to put on it.

Max raced back to the house and called Anatoli, demanding that the doctor be there waiting for their arrival.

How could we be so stupid? Max asked himself. He knew he should’ve had more people, and now his brother was going to pay for the mistake.

They made it to the house, and Anatoli rushed out to help Max bring Dimitri in.

“The doctor is set up in the kitchen for him. Lay him on the table,” Anatoli yelled.

Dimitri groaned out in pain as they laid him down.

Kyle came running downstairs after being woken up by all the noise.

“What happened?” Kyle asked and didn’t receive an answer. They were all focused on Dimitri.

Kyle walked up to Dimitri and looked at him. She was horrified. He was pale and covered in blood. She grabbed Dimitri’s hand and held onto it tightly.

Dimitri looked up at her, and she could see the fear in his eyes. “It’ll be okay—they got you,” she tried to reassure him before he passed out.

“What’s wrong with him?” Max asked.

“He’s lost a lot of blood; he needs more. Do you guys have the same blood type?” the doc asked Max.

“No. Different fathers,” he told the doctor.

“Shit. We don’t have time to test,” the doctor stated.

“I can give blood,” Kyle spoke up.

“No, you can’t,” Max said, cutting her off.

“I’m O Negative—universal donor, right?” she asked, looking at the doctor.

“That’s correct,” the doctor confirmed.

“Then I will agree to the transfusion. Just make sure he’s okay.”
