Epilogue

Kyle was standing in the kitchen, looking out into the backyard where everyone was gathered for Lily’s first birthday.

Lily was a surprise baby. Kyle thought they were done having kids.

Ten years and five children later, and she was still madly in love with Max and Dimitri. She never thought she would have children, let alone five, but she loved every minute of it.

She watched as Evie ran around with her siblings. Evie was growing and reminded her more of Max every day. Anton was now eight and the spitting image of Dimitri.

Dimitri was happy the day he found out Anton was a boy. Anton ended up being the only boy.

While they didn’t know who actually fathered Irina, Elizabeth, and Lily, Kyle had some hunches but would never speak them out loud.

They were happy and called Max and Dimitri their fathers.

“Auntie Kyle, are you coming out with the cake yet?”

“Yes, I am, Ian. Do you want to help me carry the plates out?”

Ian looked just like Ryan and was usually up to no good, whereas Dominik looked more like Varina.

When Kyle stepped outside, she smiled at the noise of family talking and playing and was sad that Anatoli and Violet couldn’t make it.

Violet gave birth last night to her and Anatoli’s third child. Kyle was thrilled for Anatoli; over the years, he and Kyle had developed a friendship that she would always be thankful for.

Through the ups and downs that she had with Max and Dimitri, he was still there, and she loved seeing him become a father.

Max and Dimitri only got hotter with age.

The subtle gray coming through in their facial hair was a sight she never thought would be a turn-on for her, but she loved how distinguished it made them look.

“Can we make you dessert?” Max whispered to her as he took the cake from her.

“Later, I promise,” she whispered back.

One thing that hadn’t changed over the years was their inability to keep their hands off each other, which was how she found herself having to tell her husbands she was pregnant yet again.
