Chapter 40

Falling for the Mafia Brothers1,042 words~6 min read

“I can’t marry you like this, Dimitri. I love you both, but I want to be your wife because you want me to be, not because you’re stopping someone else from being with me.”

Dimitri was disappointed. He wanted to marry her because he loved her, but he was in a hurry because of what was happening.

“I understand,” was all he said as he kissed her.

Kyle felt terrible. She knew she hurt his feelings, but Kyle wanted more. She thought she deserved more.

“I can still work for my father and pretend to go along with the plan. I’ll make sure to go on a few dates with this guy and try to get information that way too.”

It’d been a week, and Kyle was heading back to her father tomorrow to “take” the deal. Max and Dimitri made sure they were prepared to take care of her and gave her a cell phone that only they had the number to.

“I love you guys, don’t forget that.” Kyle was worried that they would move on from her once she was gone.

“We know, little bee.”

Max kissed her while guiding her to the bed. He kissed her deeply as Dimitri got on the bed behind her, kissing her neck and shoulders.

“You’re so beautiful, ~myshka~.”

Max and Dimitri slowly undressed her, kissing her body as they went. They were making love to her; they wanted her to feel loved.

They laid Kyle on the bed. Max kissed down her body as Dimitri concentrated on her breasts.

Kyle was getting lost in the pleasure the two men were giving her. The feeling intensified when Max’s mouth found her clit and Dimitri’s lips silenced her moans.

Kyle didn’t want it to end; she wanted to stay with them.

Kyle was overwhelmed by emotion and couldn’t hold back and silently cried. It’d been a hard few months finding two men that she loved, and she didn’t want to leave them.

Kyle woke up the next morning determined to be strong, to say goodbye to Max and Dimitri, and to help them with the information they needed. She was hoping it would only be for a few weeks, a month tops.

“If you need anything, just text us the word ‘sun drop,’ and we will know it’s important and to get to you immediately.

“Don’t forget to check in with us at least once a day. If you’re silent for more than two days, we will send someone after you.”

“What if they take my phone?” Kyle asked Dimitri.

“Keep it hidden and you should be fine.”

“I love you, Dimitri, and I want to marry you, but now wasn’t the right time. We deserved more than this. I just wanted you to know before I left.”

“I understand, ~myshka~. I love you too, and we’ll figure this out when you get back.”

Kyle kissed Dimitri and then went to Max to say goodbye.

She loved both brothers, but she felt closer to Dimitri, and she felt terrible and promised herself that she would work on her relationship with Max when she came back.

“I’m glad you took the deal, Kylah. You’ll have everything you need and want; you’ll be taken care of.”

Kyle stood in front of Viktor, regretting her decision already.

“Can you call me Kyle?”

Dimitri was the only one who used her real name from time to time, and she wanted to keep it that way. She didn’t want to ruin the love her name held when Dimitri called her by it.

Viktor didn’t acknowledge the request and kept talking. “You’ll meet Cannin this evening. Cannin is the young man you’ll be getting to know.”

Kyle couldn’t help but frown at the choice of words her father was using. The wording didn’t make it right or feel any better.

“Anton will show you to your room. Feel free to check the house out. If you want to leave, you are to have permission, and Anton must be with you.”

Viktor waved two of his fingers, and a tall, built guy came walking from the back of the room.

“This is Anton. Now go get settled in, and I’ll see you this evening when Cannin gets here.”

Anton quietly took Kyle to her room. Her room was located on the top floor of the large house away from everyone; she was thankful for the privacy.

Once Kyle was alone in her room, she took out her cell phone and texted Max and Dimitri. She told them she arrived safely and that she was to meet Cannin tonight.

Max was the one to respond, telling her he missed her. He also said to her that they would do some research on Cannin to see what they could find.

It had only been a few hours, and she couldn’t help but miss them.

Kyle found the dining room and was waiting for Viktor to join her. Instead of Viktor coming into the room, Anton came in, with a man following behind them.

When the man had a seat, Anton left the room. The man sitting in front of Kyle was handsome; she even thought he was and caught herself blushing when she realized she was staring at him.

“I’m Cannin; you have to be Kyle. If you’re not, then I’m thankful I am sitting with such a beautiful woman.”

Kyle caught herself blushing, and she mentally slapped herself. She couldn’t fall for his charm—Max and Dimitri were counting on her, and she loved them. She couldn’t betray them.

“Are you always a smooth talker?”

“Only when it comes to ladies I think are cute.”

Kyle rolled her eyes, but she was afraid that this might be a little harder than she thought.

“Let’s back it up a bit.” Kyle looked at Cannin. “You’re coming on too strong.”

Cannin smiled at her. “Nope, you like it. I can tell by your blush.”

Kyle knew then that she was going to have to work hard to ditch him and get the information she needed.

“I don’t think so.”

“I like it when a girl plays hard to get, so play all you want, kitten, but in the end, you’ll give in.”
