Chapter 39

Dimitri and Max waited for Kyle to get back home. They wanted to know what Viktor wanted, so the minute she pulled into the driveway, Max and Dimitri stood in the living room waiting for her to come in.

It was late, and they knew she would be tired, but it couldn’t wait.

“I figured you guys would have waited up.”

Max walked over to her and cupped her face. “Are you okay?”

“I’m fine, it’s just a lot to take in. Can I get some water?”

Dimitri left the room and came back with a glass of water and a muffin. “I doubt you ate anything today.”

“I’m sorry I left. I couldn’t wait, and I just wanted this to be over for all of us.”

“You’re in trouble for that, but we know why you did it.” Max leaned down and gave Kyle a peck on the lips.

“I guess I should tell you what he wants.” Kyle sighed as she stepped away from Max.

“He said that what you guys do is very lucrative and that it used to be his before your family pushed him out.”

“What does he want, ~myshka~?”

“He wants whatever my mother left Ryan and me. Apparently, she left us a lot of money, but I have no idea where it’s at.

“I haven’t seen bank statements or documents suggesting we had money. She hid it well.”

“That’s too simple. What else does he want?” Max asked.

Kyle let out a sigh. “He wants to use me to make a deal with some guy’s son to merge the business.

“He said if he couldn’t get money this way, he wanted it a different way. The other option is he’ll keep coming after you.”

“Did you take it?” Max was angry, and he couldn’t keep it out of his voice while Dimitri was quiet, trying to comprehend what he just heard.

“I told him I needed to think about it, and he gave me a week to make the decision.”

“Why the fuck would you agree?” Max yelled at her, and Kyle flinched.

“He’ll leave you alone, and I haven’t agreed yet.”

Before Max could yell again, Dimitri stepped in. “Only for a while. He’ll eventually want to expand some more and come after us again. You can’t do it. I won’t let you.

“We can take him down, and we will. Especially since we know where he is.”

“Can we please continue this in the morning?” Kyle was tired and just wanted to lie down with Max and Dimitri and to get some rest.

Kyle moaned out as she was waking up. She thought she was having the best sex dream ever to exist until she realized Dimitri’s head was between her legs.

Her orgasm hit her hard and quick; she didn’t expect it and couldn’t help trapping Dimitri’s head in place until she rode it out.

After their morning of fun, Kyle and Dimitri lay next to her in bed enjoying the peace. There was so much to do, and things were about to get chaotic.

“Marry me. You love me, I love you, and if you marry me, you can’t marry anyone else legally, and I’m sure that’s what they want.” He pushed Kyle’s hair out of her face.

“What about Max?”

“We’ll have to talk to him about this. I’m sure he’ll be okay with it. You would still be with both of us, only legally married to me.”

“I won’t give you an answer until we talk to Max.”

Kyle sat up and wrapped herself in her sheet and walked to the bathroom.

Dimitri knew he upset her without intending to. He was ready to marry her and was hoping she’d say yes.

Kyle wanted to talk to Ryan before she worked on a plan with Max and Dimitri, and she was trying to avoid Dimitri because of the proposal.

However, her plan didn’t go accordingly; her brother was out of town with Varina.

She decided to suck it up and head to the office to talk with Max and Dimitri.

It’d gotten to the point where she didn’t even have to knock; they let her come and go as she pleased, and she had come to like the trust they’d put in her.

“Hi, little bee. How are you feeling?”

“I’m good. I slept well, but I was hoping to speak to Ryan before this.”

“We can brief him when he’s back,” Max told her.

“Since Viktor likes money, I think we should force ourselves into his business and corner his market.”

“I know he is into the drug business and the family he wants you to be a part of is into sex trafficking, and we refuse to do that, but with you refusing his demand, that won’t be an issue.”

“We’ll just need to make sure he doesn’t go after Sarah,” Dimitri explained.

“It looks like you guys have it figured out.”

Max took a deep breath before continuing. “Not exactly. It depends on your answer to this... We need to find out his contacts and how he moves his products. We were hoping that’s where you come in.”

“You go to your father and work for him and give us inside information.”

“What’s to prevent him from forcing me to be with this other guy’s son?”

“You’ll marry Dimitri before you go.”

Kyle glared at Max. She felt like she was being forced into this and wasn’t sure if she was ready for that commitment.

“What about you, Max? How do you feel about this?”

“I’m okay with it. You’ll have our last name, and you’ll still be with both of us.”

“Do I even have a choice?”

Dimitri walked up to her. “Of course you do, ~myshka~. If you say no, then we’ll think of something else.”
