“Okay?” Though he questioned her order, he did as she said.

“Is it?” she asked nonchalantly. “Would you rather I let you be for tainting the sacredness of our union? I don’t want to do that. So, swear right now that thunder strikes you the moment you cheat again.”

“If I cheat again, may thunder strike my entire body,” he quickly repeated and with that, Aysu fell into ease.

She folded her arms and said, “The next time you decide to look at another woman, remember this moment.”

Ximun lowered his hand and made a smile grow on his lips. “I never knew you could be this feisty.”

“Well,” her chin tilted with pride, ” you don’t know a lot about me.”

Ximun took an unexpected step closer. “I wish to know more about you.”

Aysu’s breath hitched a little the moment he took that step but she composed herself and maintained her prideful stance. “Well, you should.”

Ximun’s focus remained on her as he said, “Have I told you how beautiful your eyes are?”

“What game are you trying to play?”

“I am not playing games. I am truly speaking my mind.”

“Oh.”

“Will you allow me to speak more of my mind?”

Her hands nervously gestured as she replied, “Y-Yeah, go ahead.”

The moment she uttered the word ‘Yes’, he took another step closer in a way that turned Aysu’s soul into a mess. At that moment, the mate bond between them was intense in her soul.

“Aysu,” Ximun’s hands gently rested on her shoulders, “I want to do many things.”

“Okay?”

“I want to make love to you but. I also want to make sure you are truly okay.”

Her soul perked at the mention of the first statement. So, while nodding her head, she responds to the second statement, saying, “I am okay. Why won’t I be?”

“Aysu.” The bulge in his throat danced as he swallowed hard. “We just lost our baby. So, before I allow my desires to take over, I need to ensure how you feel about our loss. Are you sad in a way you are choosing to ignore? Or do you wish to have some time alone to mourn? Or do you have the desire to go to the mountaintop to regain strength?”

“Ximun,” Aysu smiled, "it is sad. But I'll be fine."

“You'll be?”

She peeled his hands off her shoulders and with a single pull, she dragged him till they were both seated.

“Listen, Ximun, I feel bad for the baby and wish I could have done something or anything to save it. But I couldn’t nor could the healers. So, all I can do is remain grateful for carrying that pup even if it was for a short while.”

“Oh.”

“What?”

“I didn’t think you’d be feeling that way.” Their hands were still connected, so as she tugged lightly at it, he turned their contact and soon, he was the one holding her. “Does this mean that…?”

“You can make love to me now without feeling burdened?” Aysu leaned a little closer. “Yes.”

His nose scrunched in amazement. “You seem oddly excited about making love.”

Shyness would have overpowered Aysu at that point, but it didn’t. In fact, the expression in her eyes bulged as she said, “It has not been easy holding back. I had to pretend for a long time that I wasn’t feeling our bond. Pretending to hate was also not easy. So I want this to happen.”

“Then,” he tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, “can I do what I truly desire now?”

Her lips fought a smile. “Yes, you can.”

And he did. Without a pause, he kissed her and pulled her closer to him with a single motion. His hand remained on her waist but her hands went around his neck and the man took advantage of that contact.

As he engaged her lips with a heat she could never ignore, he pulled her up from her position and made her straddle him in a way that increased the sexiness of that moment.

Then, as he continued ravishing the taste of her lips, he communicated how much he wished to cherish that moment in the way his hands proceeded to map the details of her body.

Right from the root of her hair, his fingers caressed and trailed to ignite the beauty of desire within her soul.

So, as his hands moved, her soul jerked with excitement, their lips kissed with growing intensity and that moment solidly became something that had to happen.

“Aysu,” Ximun breathed hard while he continued to capture her lips, “this is more than I imagined this moment would be.”

His hands then continued their tour while his lips found other places to kiss. He kissed her chin and tickled the back of her neck with the lightness of his fingers.

Then he kissed the side of her lips with firmness while his hands played with little strings that held her gown in place.

Aysu could feel those strings loosening one by one, but she was more focused on the way his light touch grazed her skin in the right teasing amount. At the same time, with her eyes closed, she tilted her back and allowed the man to plant kisses there in a way no other man had.

He was both gentle and rough in the way he teased the skin of her neck. And Aysu soon started to feel the effect of those motions when something stirred between her legs in a way that made her press the nakedness of her genitals against the thickness of his pyjama trousers.

“Ximun,” she called his name after a few minutes of stifling many moans. “Ximun,” she called again.

Ximun smiled. “Gladly.”

And he flipped their position and had her back pressed against the bed. At the same time, he got rid of the gown she was wearing, so she became naked within a blink.

But, so did he the moment he stepped back. And when he turned to face Aysu, they both released thick breaths because they both knew that something great was about to happen between them.
