Chapter 7 of 36

Premeditated vandalism but not

Revelations (Fireoiny + Pinleaf)939 words~5 min read

As the bell rung and class ended, all the students shuffled out and into the halls, incoherent conversations all around.

As Firey had stood and passed Coiny's desk exiting the classroom, he'd sent a final middle finger in his direction, not expecting the shorter to grab his hand a push a piece of paper into it before smugly walking past him and into the sea of other people.

Firey glared before unfolding the paper, to see, written in cursive perfect enough to give him whiplash from the blatant misspelling and the message itself, "yur dumb"

He crumpled up the note and stuffed it in his pocket, exiting the classroom with the intent to track Coiny down to slap him, only to think of something better. The hideout.

Firey was plotting within moments. He'd simply go into Coiny's hideout and mess with some things, not to where someone could tell another person had meddled, but could inconvenience someone enough to minorly ruin their day.

What to do.

————————————

Firey speed walked across the courtyard where he'd followed Coiny hours before. He had a wicked smirk on his face as he turned the corner of the shed and spotted the door at the end of the wall.

He cautiously approached and opened the door, not sure whether or not Coiny would be inside. To his fortune, he wasn't.

Upon seeing the room devoid of people he dropped his bag and stepped inside. He looked around, finding the cord for the fairy lights and pressing the on button, before closing the door behind him. Cozy.

He looked to his left at a what was previously out of his line of sight, a desk. It had a few papers, sticky notes, and books on it, along with a calendar on the wall above it, a few events scribbled in red pen on different days.

For someone with such low grades he has a lot of study material here. Firey shrugged at the thought. I can't judge, it's not like I'm passing my math class right now.

He shook his head, No, I'm here to fuck shit up. back to that. He sat in front of the desk and opened up one of the textbooks, English to be specific.

He chuckled to himself at the little notes scribbled into the blank spaces. They were all along the lines of "this is hell" or one worded and blunt like, "what" All accurately outlining how little sense English makes.

Firey was passing his English class, despite a lot of the rules and things confusing him. Before he knew it he'd crossed out a few of the questions Coiny had gotten wrong and circled the right answers.

Upon realizing what he'd done, he swiftly closed the book and stood, scanning the room and stopping on the large wardrobe by the bookshelf-wall.

He walked over to it and opened the top drawer to find it empty apart from a random phone case, whatever that's for. The drawer below it had a few photo books in it, all filled to the brim with polaroid pictures.

I didn't know he was into photography, that's neat. Firey opened the third drawer to find worksheets and an old Nintendo Game Boy Color, along with a few games.

"I guess he plays it when he's bored, maybe that's what he does when he skips class." Firey mumbled to himself with a strangely fond grin. He closed the drawer and went onto the fourth, the snack drawer.

Inside were some sweets, chips, and an assortment of cheese snacks. There was also a bag of apples in the corner, marked with a sticky note saying "for idiot."

"Wonder who that is..." He pocketed a small bag of fruit gummies before closing the drawer and moving on to the last one.

Firey was somewhat disappointed though, as the drawer was simply filled with trash. Balled up paper, broken pens, and then some wrappers. He didn't consider himself a neat freak, but before he could think he'd closed the drawer and walked back outside where he'd abandoned his bag.

He grabbed out a paper bag that had been left at the bottom of his bag from one day where he'd chosen to bring a lunch from home and walked back into the room before sitting on his knees in front of the wardrobe and opening the trash drawer once again.

He began to scoop the trash into the bag, deciding to leave the crumpled paper in case Coiny could potentially find a use for it. Upon getting out all the pens and wrappers Firey stood and went back outside, finding a trash can beside the doors he'd previously exited from and dropping the bag into it.

He swiped his hands against each other in the motion people do to brush off sand or dust and sped back to the hideout. Only then realizing, it'll be pretty obvious someone had been there now.

I didn't even do what I intended to! Damn me and my scatterbrained stupidity. Firey pressed his palm to his forehead. Might as well lay in the grave I dug myself.

He sighed before stepping back into the hideout and once again glancing to his left at the desk. He took a pen and a sticky note, scribbling a quick message upon it before sticking it in the drawer and shutting it.

And with that he made his leave, deciding to walk home rather than calling a ride. All the while thinking about the day he'd had.

Maybe next time I sneak into Coiny's hideout I can help out with his English more...

...Next time?
