"So, did you consider it?" Leafy inquired as she suddenly appeared on her bike beside Firey.
"Consider what? I have no idea what you're talking about." he attempted to speed walk, but his efforts were fruitless against Leafy on bike.
"Considered that you might like-like Coiny."
"It wouldn't matter, he's dating Pin!" Firey refused to meet Leafy's eyes, not willing to risk her trying to read him.
"But if they were to break up? Or to have never been together at all?" she replied.
Just give up already! I'm not going to admit it. There's nothing to admit. "We hate each other Leafy. End of story."
"Firey, you're a horrible liar. How many times have you gone to watch him like that?" Leafy stepped off her bike to walk besides the boy instead.
"...3 and a half, if you count this morning and that one time I went in when he wasn't there. I might've written some notes for him on a homework sheet and cleaned out a drawer full of trash."
"Damn you suck at being sneaky. We're you even trying?" Leafy teased, trying to lighten the mood a bit.
Firey laughed ruefully, "No, I even left him a note."
"Firey! If you're going to break and enter you have to do it right!"
"What do you know about breaking and entering?" Firey finally turned to Leafy, a fake accusatory expression.
"More than you'd bargain for, my friend." Leafy grinned deviously, sending a shiver down the taller's spine.
They walked in comfortable silence for a while, before Leafy saw where she was meant to turn. She ran for momentum before hopping on her bike.
And then she was gone, leaving Firey alone with his thoughts again.
"...so what if I like him? Nothing could come out of it except for me feeling shitty every time he insults me." He muttered to himself, finding a car ride to his house would've been much faster and easier than walking.

...-No glare, no snarky comments, just staring back into his eyes as Firey was him.
Pink, blue, red, green, yellow, purple. Pink, blue, red, green, yellow, purple. It's all so familiar.
Coiny looked at the taller through half lidded eyes, the strobes were starting to give Firey a headache, but he wasn't going to pay attention to that. Coiny reached up, slowly, but without hesitance. His eyes angled downwards, he leaned forward.
It didn't click this time. Coiny leaned further into the taller, his arm hooked around the back of Firey's neck, and he found himself leaning down as well. He narrowed his eyes, leaving them open ever so slightly to see the others close.
Then they were kissing. Under the multicolored lights, on a weird purple couch, across from two girls that had totally forgotten they were there. They were kissing.
It only lasted a few seconds, but each one felt like an eternity. A blissful eternity.

..
...
Then he woke up.
Firey jolted awake. He was felt like he was on fire.
He paused for a moment before moving to sit on the floor against his bed, trying to take in whatever the fuck he'd just dreamed about.
A beat.
"...What the fuck?!" he said aloud. "Wh... oh my god." Firey leaned his head on his hands, the scene replaying in his head over and over again.
Why did...?! What..?! What am I supposed to do now?? Just go back to sleep???
Firey sighed before standing and reaching under his pillow, glancing at his dresser to see the still untouched pack of gummies he'd stolen from Coiny.
He looked away and took out his dream journal before taking his spot on the floor again, pen in hand.
Do I recap everything again? No, that'd be stupid.
Firey shook his head and decided to just write "see page 71, same dream but this tiâ"
Firey put the journal down for a second as he covered his face with his hands and inhaled. He removed his hands before breathing an audible sigh and taking the journal again.
"âme we kissed."
He swiftly closed the book, his face feeling hot again as he went to put it back under his pillow.
"Why would I dream of something like that?? I... oh god I do like him don't I??" Firey sat on his bed. "No! No it's just because Leafy was nagging me all day, I don't like Coiny."
He saw dream-Coiny's face again, eyes closed and content.
"...shit."
Firey knew he wasn't going to be able to fall back asleep, so he went downstairs to his living room to binge anything that could take his mind off of... everything.
It was ineffective of course. So Firey decided to call Leafy, knowing she was likely awake and studying at this time.
