Revelations (Fireoiny + Pinleaf)823 words~5 min read

Another day, another trip to the library for no suspicious reasons once so ever...

Yeah, right. Firey thought as he walked the halls to a place he used to never see himself visiting often.

"Why am I even... Coiny wouldn't get up at the ass crack of dawn to hangout in some dumb club room.." Firey mumbled, finally reaching the doors of the library.

"The better question is why I care so much." He sighed before pushing the doors to the library open, letting the statement get swept under the rug.

He scanned the room before shaking his head and beginning over to the shelf where he'd found the hideout previously. He rubbed his eye and then hesitantly peaked in between two books.

Before he was interrupted.

Leafy stretched her arms out over her head, before pushing back her rolling chair to give herself room to stretch out her legs. She exhaled before exiting her room and prancing down the hall to the front door.

She pulled on her shoes and took her bike from the side of the house, slinging her bag over her shoulder she got on and began her short ride to school.

Leafy hadn't dreamt again that night, and she'd be lying if she said she hadn't been hoping to.

Even though her dream from the night before was unpleasant, she found herself wishing to go back to it. She decided to copy what Firey had been doing and wrote down what she could remember when she'd gotten home the other day.

It was foggy, but Leafy was sure she'd gotten the important parts, and she had messaged Pin to ask if she missed anything. Pin helped add a couple of forgotten details, and Leafy was strangely happy that someone had listened to her so... closely?

Leafy felt an odd warm feeling in her chest, one she'd only felt a few times before...

"I have a friend!" she said to herself unintentionally, startling a group that was walking across the road.

Out of embarrassment she pedaled faster, but she was still feeling weirdly happy over her new realization.

Why am I so happy? I have plenty of friends.

...Maybe Pin's just different, I mean she hasn't gotten bored of me studying on our lunch date- hangouts... people usually give up on me around this time.

Leafy laughed to herself, albeit sadly.

No time to ponder though, I'm at school now.

She put her bike into the racks and locked it, reciting the code 8719 to herself in her head so she'd remember. She removed her helmet and lied it with her bike as well, shaking out her hair.

Leafy finally entered the building and turned right to the library, like she did every morning, only to spot a familiar orange-head standing outside the doors.

"Firey?" she mumbled, automatically moving behind a corner to see what he was doing.

He appeared to say something and then sigh before entering the library.

Leafy was very suspicious. This was unlike Firey. I mean, waking up before the first bell and going to the library? Who was this imposter and what had they done with her friend.

She narrowed her eyes before finally stepping out from behind the corner and going to the large double doors. She opened them without hesitance, as this library was basically her sanctuary, and looked around for the tall dumbass of a guy she considered her best friend.

Leafy perked up, remembering the same spot he'd been at yesterday. That's probably my best bet at where he is now. she thought, already moving towards the seemingly never ending shelves.

It didn't take long to find him, and she decided not to hide this time. She narrowed her eyes once more and tilted her head.

"Firey? why are you looking at those books so closely?" Leafy inquired, taking a step towards the boy.

——————————

At the sound of his name Firey whipped around wide eyed.

"-why are you looking at those books so closely?" Leafy stood before him with a somewhat concerned grin.

After she finished speaking, there was a pause and Firey heard shuffling from the wall behind him. He swiftly moved out of the way before grabbing Leafy and darting to the other side of the library.

Upon stopping, Firey didn't know what to say.

"Jeez Firey! This is a library, no running!" Leafy whisper-yelled. "And that didn't answer my question."

Firey swallowed, "Oh well uhh.. there was... uhm. There was a spider in the shelves!! Yeah! I was trying to uh.. get it." ohgodthatwasahorriblelie

"oh really? Was there a spider yesterday too?" Leafy tilted her head. busted.

Firey looked everywhere but her eyes, trying to come up with a convincing lie. Nothing.

...I suppose there's no harm in telling Leafy. Maybe she could solve why i'm even here...? ...I've always been a bad liar.

"...Fine, i'll tell you"
