Khushi's pov
"Hey, Khushi, can I come in?" Rahul asked, standing in the doorway of my cabin.
"Yes, Rahul, please come in,"
He came inside and sat in the chair.
"Khushi, please, can I get your five minutes?" He asked.
"Of course, Rahul. Is everything okay?"
"Yes, Khushi, everything is fine. It's just-" he stopped and started rubbing the back of his neck.
"Yes, tell,"
He took a deep breath and sat up straight. "Khushi, I know what Shourya has done to you is wrong, but he is also feeling guilty for his action, and he is trying to gain your forgiveness. Please try to forget everything and move on with him. He is waiting for your forgiveness, Khushi."
"I know, Rahul, but he has to learn his lessons. And it's not easy to forgive him. He really hurt me a lot. Since I got married to him, I got only hurt from him and nothing else." I said stubbornly.
"I know, and I think he has already learned his lesson?" He said it more like a question.
"Your friend is a dumbass, Rahul,"
He laughed "That I know, Khushi. He is like that since childhood," he commented which made me laugh.
"Khushi, promise me that you will not give up on my friend. I know he is stupid and makes lots of mistakes, but never give up on him. You can punish him, but please don't give up on him easily," he said, looking at me seriously.
Shourya is so lucky to have a friend like him.
I nodded, smiling at him.
"Ok, I am going home now," he said, getting up.
"Why so early?" I asked him because, as far as I know, he never goes early.
"I want to prepare-" he stopped as if he realised what he was saying. "I meant to say I have some work, bye." He waved and winking at me.
Why is he looking excited today?
I shook my head and started doing my work.
Shourya's POV
The day has come, and I am feeling excited and also nervous. Yesterday after work, I went to purchase one dress for Khushi. This is the first time in my life I have brought a dress for women. I just hope she likes it.
Only one question is roaming in my mind, and that is, will I be able to confess my love to her?
I think I should first ask Rahul about the preparation.
I dialled his number, and after four rings, he picked up the call.
"Hello, buddy,"
"Rahul, are you done with the preparations?" I asked.
"Don't worry, bro. Everything is ready. Since morning I have been doing that only. Your this friend has decorated that area in such a way that you can also do your honeymoon there," he said in a teasing tone.
"Shut up, Rahul. Rahul, I am ner-nervous. Do you think I will be able to do that?" I asked him in tension.
Thinking about confessing my love to her makes my heart beat faster.
"Don't act like a girl, Shourya. You can do it. You can do anything, Shourya." He encouraged me
"Rahul, I am scared of her reaction. I don't know how she will react."
What if she say that she doesn't even like me?
Writer's POV
Khushi got ready in the dress Shourya gave her.
She was still thinking about why Shourya had given her such an expensive dress, and that was also just for dinner.
She applied light makeup and left her hair open. She took her clutch and took a look in the mirror. After being satisfied with her look, she went and opened the door to go downstairs.
When she opened the door, she came face to face with Shourya. They both gasped, looking at each other. Shourya was in his grey suit, and his silky hair was perfectly combed.
Shourya was surprised to see Khushi looking more beautiful in that golden dress. Shourya was staring at her with love, and the same emotion was also there in Khushi's eyes.
"Khushi, stop staring at him like that," she scolded herself.
She cleared her throat so that he could come out of his dream land.
"Yo-you are looking stunningly beautiful in this dress," Shourya complimented her and kissed her cheek, which made her cheeks turn red.
"Than-thank you, and you are also looking handsome," she complimented him back, giving him a small smile.
"Thank you," his heart fluttered hearing her compliment.
'Shourya, you're totally whipped' his inner voice whispered to him.
"Can we go?" He asked, and Khushi nodded.
Shourya forwarded his right hand to her, and she gladly accepted it, which made Shourya's heart dance with happiness.
He opened the door of his car and helped her to sit.
On the way, Shourya was just thinking about how he was going to confess his feelings to her.
Rahul told me that I would forget my nervousness after looking at Khushi, but after looking at Khushi, I am more nervous now. This is the same way, I felt whenever my school teacher used to ask me to read a long article in front of the whole school in the morning assembly.
After half an hour, they reached their destination.
Shourya parked his car in front of a five-star hotel. He came out and helped Khushi get out of the car. His heart was increasing its thumbing rate by passing seconds. He was feeling as if someone was taking him away to give him a sweet death.
As soon as they entered the hotel, the hotel manager came. "Welcome, Mr. and Mrs. Kapoor," he said, looking at both of them with a big smile.
"Thank you," they both said in unison.
"Everything is ready," the manager said, and he asked them to follow him.
Khushi looked at Shourya by furrowing her brows. "Shourya, where are we going? We have come here to have dinner, right?"
"Ye-yes, Khushi. Now please don't ask anything," he said, stretching his neck.
Khushi shrugged her shoulders, and they both followed the manager. He stopped in front of one door that was leading to the backyard of the hotel and gestured for them to open the door.
"Enjoy," he said and left from there.
"Shourya, why do we-" she was cut off by Shourya. "Come," he slipped his hand around her waist.
As soon as Shourya opened the door, Khushi gasped looking at the surroundings, and Shourya was surprised to see how Rahul had decorated everything beautifully.
Khushi was gazing around with her wide eyes and mouth open. Every tree was decorated with golden lights, and there were lanterns on the branches. There was one table kept under the one tree, which was beautifully decorated with golden cloth. Two candles were kept on either side of the table, and a vase full of red flowers was kept in the middle of the table. Some were lanterns kept around the table.
Shourya slowly looked towards Khushi to see her reaction. He smiled, looking at her face. She was looking like a cute little kid who was looking at a big elephant with her mouth open in front of her.
He cleared his throat to gain her attention. She looked at him and immediately closed her mouth, feeling embarrassed.
"Come," he held her hand and took her near the table. He took a chair out for her like a gentleman.
"Thank you," she mumbled and sat down. Shourya also sat in his chair opposite her.
There was total silence. Both were nervous. No word was coming out of Shourya's mouth. He wanted to talk with her a lot, but his nervousness was making him speechless.
"Shourya, wha-what is this all?" Khushi thought to break this awkward silence by asking the reason behind all that.
"Huh?Actu-actually, Khushi, I-I wan-wanted make thi-this din-dinner special," he said stammering, rubbing the back of his neck.
"But Shourya, there was no need to do this," she said, looking at him.
"Didn't you lik-like the arrangement?"
"I loved it, but Shou-" he cut her off by saying, "I wan-want to tell you some-something."
Khushi nodded.
Shourya gulped the lump formed in the throat. His nervousness increased seeing Khushi, who was looking at him to listen to him. His palms started becoming sweaty, and small sweat beads started forming on his forehead.
"Shourya, why are you sweating like that? Are you okay? Do you have a fever?" She asked with worry and got up.
She placed her hand on his forehead to check his temperature.
"If your temperature is normal, then why are you sweating?"
"Khushi, I am fine. It's just I-I am feel- feeling hot," he said taking out his handkerchief to wipe his face.
"But Shourya, it's cold here, and you are-"
"You ar-are wearing a sleeveless dress maybe beca-because of that you are feeling cold, and I-I am wearing a blazer maybe tha-thats the reason I am feeling ho-hot," he said, giving her a nervous smile.
"Are you sure?"
"Ye-yes, Khushi,"
She nodded while looking at his weird behaviour.
Shourya thought that today he would confess his feelings to Khushi, but he didn't know that he would become this nervous.
"Khushi, I am coming in two minutes, okay?" He got up.
"Where are you going?"
"Washroom," he said, pointing toward the washroom.
She nodded.
Shourya went to the washroom and immediately dialled Rahul's number.
Pick-up Rahul, pick up
Rahul picked up the call after five rings.
"Hello, lover boy," his voice was sleepy. "How was your dinner date? Did you confess?"
"Rahul, it's becoming difficult," Shourya whined.
"What?" Rahul almost shouted. "You didn't confes- oh god," His sleep flew away thinking about his friend.
"Rahul, I am ner-nervous like hell here. My palms are getting sweaty. I think I should confess to her some other day. Today I will not be abl-"
"Shut up!" Rahul snapped at him. "You have to confess her today. I have done so much to decorate everything, and you are saying that you- You know what? I don't want to listen to anything. You have to confess to her, and if you don't, then forget that you had a friend called Rahul."
"But Rahul, my words are not coming out in front of her," he pouted sadly.
"Then tell them to come out, but somehow you have to confess to her."
Shourya rolled his eyes while listening to him.
"If you come home without telling her about your feelings, then I will kill you," Rahul warned him and cut the call.
Shourya sighed.
"I didn't know that it would become so difficult for me to confess. Shourya, calm down. You can do it," he prepared himself and went out of the washroom.
Shourya came and sat in his chair and cleared his throat before speaking. "Khu-Khushi," he held her right hand with his both hands, which made the butterflies dance in her stomach.
"Khu-Khushi, I-I lo" she was waiting for him to continue.
Shourya gulped. "I want to give this marriage a chance," he said in one breath. Khushi's eyes widen at what he has just said. She never thought that one day Shourya would think to give their marriage a chance.
"Khushi, I will try hard to make our marriage work. I know I was a jerk to you before, but I promise I will try to become a good husband," he said and was waiting for Khushi to say something. She was just looking at him.
Finally, she spoke. "I am glad to hear that, but do you think our marriage will work? And you hurt me a lot, Shourya. I don't think thi-this marriage will work," she said, remembering how he hurt her every time. "I don't want to get hurt again. This marriage will not wo-"
"Khushi, please don't say like that. I will try to become a good husband. I know how much I hurt you, and I know it's become difficult for you to forgive me," he said and his eyes filled with tears. "Khushi, I really sorry for that. I regret every bad thing I have done to you. I will not do that again. Please let's give our marriage a chance," he said in a pleading tone which softened her heart.
She nodded, smiling, keeping her left hand on his hands.
"Thank you, Khushi."
'Shourya, you had to confess your feelings to her," he scolded himself.
"Shourya, you have done all this just to tell me that you want to give this marriage a chance? I mean to say, you could have told me all this at home, right? There was no need of doing that," she said, pointing at the decorations and then looking at Shourya.
"I wanted to make this spe-special."
She nodded, smiling at him. "Thank you for doing all this, Shourya."
"And may I know what special you did? You wanted to tell her about your feelings, but here you are saying something different. Is this call special? ....useless person," his mind scolded him.
Till then, one waiter came with food. He kept the dishes on the table and left from there.
âªâªâªâªâªâªâªâªâªâªâªâªâªâªâª
Khushi got up after placing a soft kiss on Shourya's forehead, who was sleeping peacefully. She did her morning chores and went downstairs to prepare breakfast.
"Good morning, Khushi," Rahul came and stood in the doorway of the kitchen. She flinched a little and kept her hand on her chest to calm her.
"Hey, I am so sorry. I didn't mean to scare you," he apologised, looking at her.
"It's ok, Rahul, and ya, good morning. When did you come?"
"Hmm.. just now. Where is Shourya?" He asked her. He wanted to ask her how their dinner date was, but he wanted to first ask Shourya.
"He is sleeping," she said. "Will you have a coffee?"
"Ya sure, first I want to meet Shourya."
She nodded and started preparing coffee.
Rahul barged into the room and saw that Shourya was mumbling something in his sleep and smiling.
He slowly went and leaned towards him to listen to what he was saying.
"I lo-love you , Khushi.....you are looking beautiful....I love you, Khushi"
Rahul was controlling his laugh.
He slowly took a water jar and threw water on Shourya then burst into laughter.
Shourya woke up with a jolt, panting heavily.
"What the hell, Rahul? Are you out of your mind?" He started shouting at Rahul, wiping his face with his hands.
"Our lover boy was dreaming about his wife, huh?" Rahul said in a teasing tone.
Shourya's eyes widened. "It's no-nothing like that," he said, getting up from the bed.
"I love you, Khushi. You are looking beautiful," you were mumbling all this in your sleep," Rahul started laughing.
"Shut up, Rahul!" Shourya started going towards the bathroom, but Rahul stopped him.
"I want to know everything. Now tell me, did you confess to Khushi?" Rahul asked, raising his right eyebrow.
Shourya shook his head and sat on the bed, sighing.
"WHAT?" Rahul almost shouted. "And may I know why?"
"I was nervous," he said with a low voice. "But I have told her that I want to give our marriage a chance," he said immediately.
"You dumb headed idiot, what should I do with you? I don't know why God has given me a dumbass friend like you with no brain," Rahul said, glaring at him. "I had done all that set-up thinking that you would confess your feelings to her, but no, you idiot came home after having that delicious food without confessing your feelings to Khushi."
Shourya got up from the bed. "It's not that easy, Rahul. When you fall in love with someone, that time you will come to know."
"The whole night I was thinking that my friend must be planning to go on a honeymoon with his wife after the romantic dinner date, but I didn't know that my friend had spoiled everything. I was even dreaming that I will play with your kids, but it seems like-"
"Shut up, Rahul. Stop your drama," he said, cutting him off.
"You are really an unromantic person, Shourya. Instead of saying, "I love you, Khushi" in your dreams, you should have said that yesterday, but you didn't. At least you should have looked around to see how much your friend has put affords into decorating everything just to make your day special, but you ar-"
Shourya ignored him and went to the bathroom.
"God, why did you give me such a dump head friend who doesn't even know how to confess his feelings to his wife?" Rahul said, looking up.
"Rahul," Khushi called him standing on the door way. "Breakfast is ready. Come downstair."
"Coming,"
"Where is Shourya?" She asked him after looking at the empty bed.
"He is in the bathroom," he answered.
"Okay," she went downstairs.
