Part 21

Seeing no option he quickly picked Taehyung in his arms in bridal style. He went towards the door & right then someone entered in front of him. Huffing & puffing as if they ran all the way here.

Hoseok ran as fast as he could. Climbing two steps at a time over the stairs to get to his little gem as soon as possible.

A little while earlier when he entered the Jeon household the first person he met was non other than Yeobin herself.

"Hey aunty! Your hope has finally arrived." He went straight for a big hug. "I'm so sorry for being late." He pouts.

"It's ok hobi. At least you made it here."

"By the way aunty where's my little gem?"

"Yeah about him. I sent him to fetch me something but he hasn't came back yet. I'm getting worried now."

"What's there to be worried about aunty?"

"The thing is the storeroom door gets stuck and it's usually dark in there...-" As Yeobin said these words the carefree smile on Hoseok's face vanished as if it never existed.

"Which floor." He asked in all seriousness.

Yeobin was surprised to see his serious expression but she could also see the worry in his eyes, so without further ado she points to the direction of the storeroom on the second floor. And within minutes he was standing right in front of Jungkook who is holding an unconscious Taehyung in his arms.

"O no... Tae..!!"

He moved forward & tried to lift Taehyung in his own arms but to his disappointment Taehyung refused to let go of Jungkook. He even grabbed harder onto him & when Hoseok called his name, he whined pushing his face further into Jungkook's chest.

"I feel that its best if I take him to my room for resting, then we can call a doctor. Don't worry hyung just follow me." Hoseok only nods.

Just as Jungkook laid Taehyung on his bed Hoseok went & sat next to him, holding his hand in his own.

"My little gem please forgive me because ones again I arrived late. Once again I was unable to protect you." Jungkook observes them from a distance. After a while he speaks up.

"He'll be alright hyung. I'll go call a doctor."

"NO, don't. Other doctors will only make him more uncomfortable. The only thing we can do now is to wait till he wakes up on his own." Jungkook was confused because of this choice but decided to obey Hobi as it looked like he has previously experienced such incidents in the past too.

So they went out of the room & Jungkook decided to ask the thing he wanted to know for such a long time. "Hyung I wanted to know this way before & also now... How do you know Taehyung... What is the relation between you two? You are a close friend of me & Hanwoo hyung & yet you supported Taehyung in destroying Hanwoo hyung's big day, his marriage day. Why just why. I want to know."

Hoseok heaved a tired sigh. He can't hide it anymore. "He's my brother." There, he dropped the bomb on Jungkook's head who as expected looked shocked by this information.

"Brother!? You never told me about him."

"Yes he is my brother but not my own brother. He is the grandson of the granny who used to work as a caretaker at our house, there in my village. Back when I was a kid, I loved to go visit my village just to meet the sweet little boy: Kim Taehyung. Taehyung's parents left him with granny when he was merely 2 years old. I don't know the exact reason but that's the only thing my eomma told me." Hoseok narrated as both him & Jungkook walked their way to the balcony.

"And since I was so young & the only child of my parents I always saw Tae as my little brother, my precious little gem." He smiles while saying that & Jungkook can clearly see the fondness in Hobi's eyes & love for his little brother. Hobi continues. "Taehyung was a very bright student & showed special interest in plants & flowers. He wanted to major in Botanical studies. So when he turned 19 granny wanted Taehyung to come with us to the city so that he can get better education as the village did not have many facilities."

He stops then laughs a bit.

"Why are you laughing hyung?"

"Because although he was an amazing student, one of the main reasons for sending Tae with us was that the colleges in the village refused for his admission because of his rough behavior & big mouth. He used to get into fights with other boys often."

"Isn't that why granny told Taehyung to keep a maun vrat? (vow of silence)"

"O! You know about it?"

"Hmm i do. Got to experience it myself."

"Yes that's true. But his behavior didn't change one bit after arriving at the city in our home. Luckily no one knew about it as no one cares about such things while taking admissions. He was always full of energy & attracted quite an attention in his first year of college."

Hoseok talked as Jungkook listened carefully. Finally he is able to know something about Taehyung. The wind blew their hair gently as they were sitting on the chair kept on the balcony. Jungkook also noticed how Hobi's smile fell little by little at the end of his sentence.

"Everything was normal but suddenly Taehyung stopped being energetic or talking big. He started behaving like an obedient person, full of manners. He even started to dress himself more feminin & graceful. It was seriously hard to recognize him at first because of his ethnic outfits & calm personality."

"But hyung wasn't that a good thing. I mean maybe he wanted to try something new or wear more beautiful clothes. There's nothing wrong in it."

"That's what we thought at first too but everyone became suspicious of him when he requested eomma to teach him cooking. Like he & cooking were a big no. He literally hated cooking or even stepping one foot in the kitchen."

"Really?" Jungkook couldn't believe it & thought back to when Taehyung made Rasmalai for him & also the Kheer he prepared for his mother.

"Hmm. And that's when I got to know about his relationship with Hanwoo."

"What!?"

"I don't know if you know this or not but Taehyung & Hanwoo were classmates. Even though Hanwoo was of much age to be in the same class as him. Well that was because he missed his 3 years doing God knows what...?"

It was true. As far as Jungkook knows Hanwoo skipped 3 years of his college life. But he never knew for what reason.

"Taehyung was in love with Hanwoo. He wanted to change himself for Hanwoo. He took great measures to please him, being it his clothing or appearance or even his personality. He was ready to change himself completely for his love. But..."

Hoseok stopped. A lump forming in his throat making him unable to speak further. He clenched his fists tight to control his overflowing emotions of anger & hatred. But there were also signs of self loathing & incompetence in him.

"But... What...?"

"But Hanwoo cheated on Taehyung." He said with gritted teeth. As if it was so difficult for him to say so from his mouth. As if it burned his tongue to say that out loud.

"Wait Hyung that can't be. Because... B-because Hanwoo hyung told me it was Taehyung who cheated on him!!." Jungkook immediately interrupted Hobi.

Hoseok heaved a long tired sigh. Then placed his hand on Jungkook's shoulder. "Listen Jungkook.. I'm don't know what rubbish Hanwoo told you or whatever story he made up... But I'm not wrong & neither is Taehyung. I won't force you to believe in what I just said but i will only ask you to have trust in me."

"....... "

"It must be difficult for you but please have faith in me." He gave a small squeeze to Jungkook's shoulder. Then he turned around & looked over his shoulder at Jungkook. "I must go & inform aunty Yeobin about Taehyung. Please do me a favor & go back to Taehyung, he will be scared if he wakes up alone in an unfamiliar room."

Saying so Hoseok departed from there leaving Jungkook to digest this new found information. He was utterly confused & completely lost for now. Not knowing whom to believe. He could not understand who was telling the truth & who was lying.
