Chapter 202
Halfway through their journey, they crossed paths with a koury car ferrying Nora, Joanne, and their family members.
Nora strutted over to the two with a smile. âSorry, I was too focused on your grandpa just now to look after you. You havenât eaten, have you? Iâll treat both of
Snickering, Lold said, âThank you, Aunt Noraâ
Lily tilted her head and cast him a look, but she ultimately looked away without a word.
f you to a mealâ
Half an hour later, they reached La Caprese, a fine dining restaurant downtown. It was the best establishment in all of Bridgeport with a memberâonly system.
The membership was tierâbasedâordinary members were restricted to dining on the second floor, firstâter members were allowed into the third floor⦠So on and so forth.
The highest membership tier was the premier diamond, which came with the privilege of enjoying dinner at the topâfloor private lounge. However, it came with a price tag too hefty for ordinary members.
From the restaurantâs conception, there had only been two holders of the premier diamond membership. Even Nora was merely a diamondâtier member.
Loid and Lily had just gotten out of the car when his phone rang. He glanced at the caller ID before frowning. A pause later, he said to Lily, âGo in with them first Iâll take a call.â
âSure,â replied Lily, who followed behind Nora and others.
Nora, upon noticing Loidâs absence, asked, âWhereâs Loid?â
âHeâs taking acall,â Lily drawled.
Noraâs eyes wavered. With a smile, she said to Lily, âAlright. Follow us closely
Lily modded silently,
However, Nora started to speed up. Joanna and the rest followed after realizing Noraâs motive.
Lily had always walked slowly. Besides, she wasnât paying attention to the directions as she was emotionally affected by Venomâs situation.
When she looked up again, she noticed that Nora and the rest had entered the restaurant. She tried to enter, only to be stopped by security. âMiss, please show your membership
card
âIâm with the group that went in just now. Sounding impatient, she placed her hands in her pockets and kept her cap low
*Please call them to pick you up,â the security guard politely addressed her.
Lily looked afar. After Nora and the group entered the restaurant, they deliberately slowed down. A few of them even turned their heads around to check on her situation. Smirking, she stared at the guard. âItâs dine, then. Iâll leave.â
With that, she turned around and left
Seeing that, Nora hurried out of the restaurant and grabbed her by the arm. Nora hissed, âWhy are you leaving?â
Lily turned around and explained, âI was stopped by security.
âDidnât I tell you to follow us closely? chided Nora. âYou need a membership to enter the restaurant You fell behind, and you donât have a membership. Of course, they wouldnât let you in!â
Nora seemed upset. She had planned to give Lily trouble, but she did not expect Lily to leave instead of arguing with the security
âIâll give you my membership card. You can head in first,â Nora offered
Lily glanced at Noraâs card with amusement She revealed, âThave a card, though.â
