Rebirth : Rise of the Phoenix1,303 words~7 min read

"Today, I will announce... the identity of the First Prince." The King said.

"Wait... Father! Is His Highness really going to announce the identity of the First Prince?" I asked Father and he looked at me.

"Alright, alright. I know. If the King himself said he would announce, then there is no reason for me to object." I said and Father nodded.

"You know the identity of the First Prince?" Albert asked.

"Does it matter now that if we know it or not? You will be knowing it soon." I said.

"True." He said and looked at me, with great curiosity in his eyes.

"What are you looking curiously at me for? The King will announce the identity soon. Can't you keep your cat inside for at least that much time?" I asked.

"It is not that," Albert said. "Then what?" I asked. "Nothing. You won't understand it anyway." Albert said.

"Are you mocking me?" I asked.

"I wouldn't dare," Albert said and backed off.

Suddenly, the doors opened and Lindon came in.

"Isn't that Sir Lin who usually serves by the King?" One asked, from the Assembly.

"Yeah. But how can he come in unannounced?" Another asked.

"True. But look at his dress..." Another said.

Yeah. His dress. That is what took the attention of the crowd. He came in the same clothes, which he had put on the day, on my marriage dealing meeting.

An involuntary smile crept upon my face.

But this time the difference was, obviously, he was not wearing a mask.

And it just looked like a god had ascended from above. If it weren't because of the fact that I bit and squeezed my desires, I am afraid I would have squealed out.

"Is this... him?" Albert asked.

"Obviously. Why are you even asking? Where else can you find such a handsome and dashing man that will make you heart flutter and have butterflies in your stomach?" I asked.

"Gosh. You are totally head over heels for him." Albert said.

"I deserve that," I said.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. It is not he that deserves you, but you that deserves him." Albert said.

"Obviously," I said.

"Isn't that too much confidence?" Albert asked.

"I call it self-esteem," I said.

"So you love him head over heels and you love yourself head over heels. How can you balance between them?" Albert said.

"You said the question yourself and answer yourself," I said.

"I am sorry?" He was confused.

"I love him very much and I love myself very much. This is the very same reason why there is balance." I said.

(A/N – These are the times I wish that it was modern times so that I could use Mathematics to solve the situation, by converting it into an equation and canceling equal quantities from both sides, them dividing by two to find the mean and using percentage in the last.)

He was stuck for a moment, but then he recovered.

"Ah! You are not at all like in those rumors." Albert said.

"Seriously? Do you judge me based on rumors? And please, focus on the main part." I said and pointed towards Lindon.

"Ah!" He said.

"He is pretty handsome," Albert said.

"Pretty handsome? He is handsome handsome." I said.

"Whoa. You are seriously into him." Albert said.

"I am handsomely into him," I said.

"Goodness. Aren't head over heels people supposed to have less thinking capacity? Why is your brain functioning properly?" Albert said.

"Are you complaining?" I asked.

"I wouldn't dare." He said.

"And as you all might have guessed, Sir Lin, who has been serving me by my side has been the Crown Prince, Lindon, all along." The King said and the hall erupted into small talks.

"And..." The King started to talk again and everyone stopped their chats.

"His illness is almost over. So First Prince himself asked me to allow him to work near me under the name Assistant. He was also taking Heir Lessons. And those have almost finished.

And taking the situations into consideration, Crown Prince has asked me to reveal his identity." The King said.

Taking the situations into consideration. Yeah. Many things have been happening in Avalon right now.

After the news of Maylene's and Louis's betrayal towards Anastasia, from a rich bitch, Anastasia became the heart-broken damsel in distress.

And people, mainly commoners started asking about Crown Prince Lindon and enquired will he be able to rule the state or not.

And at this moment, he chose to come out, he will touch the peak. I knew it. He is just so calculating. I just love him.

(A/N – From a reader's point of view, Anastasia is really an unordinary girl for liking a man because he is calculative.)

Then Lindon then turned to face the crowd.

All of them rose from their seats and to greet Lindon.

"GREETINGS TO CROWN PRINCE, THE FUTURE SUN OF THE AVALON EMPIRE. MAY YOUR LIFE BE BLESSED BY THE HOLY ONE." Everyone greeted him together.

Lindon then raised his hand and everyone sat down.

"I am Lindon, the Crown Prince of the Avalon Empire. I am indeed thankful for you people for waiting for me these many years." Avalon said, bowing his head in a small way.

"Your Highness, please don't. It is our luck that we can at least get to see you now." Count Welds said.

Lindon smiled.

"I am afraid I should be the one thanking all of you for patiently waiting for me," Lindon said, smiling.

"I hope that everyone is agreeing with Lindon being the Crown Prince." The King said.

"Do we even have a choice?" Count Millow asked.

"Of course you all do if you have a proper reason." The King said.

"Obviously. We can't discard a good candidate without a good reason." The King said.

"Your Highness. Crown Prince Lindon's sickness is not completely gone. Won't it be a burden for Crown Prince to both take care of himself and the people?" Count Barrel asked.

"I am happy that you are caring about me, Count Barrel," Lindon said with a smile on his face.

Count Barrel then managed to force a smile on his face.

"And about the clashes concerning my illness, you can enquire about it with Lady Aesther," Lindon said.

"Miss Aesther?" Count Barrel eyed me with curiosity.

"Yes, about his illness, it can be eliminated with a very short time. And by the time His Highness completes his Heir Studies, His illness will be long gone." I said.

"Ah! It seems I was worried for nothing." Count Barrel said.

I wanted to snort. Worried? More like was happy for nothing.

"And also, the work is not done by Crown Prince alone. All of you will help the Crown Prince manage the work." I said.

"Crown Prince?" The King called.

"Yes, Your Highness?" Lindon answered.

"The Kingdom of Gelna has sent a gift for you when they knew that the Crown Prince has recovered." The King said his smile faltering a bit.

What is the matter with the gift? I thought.

"Since they have sent it whole-heartedly, I will accept it," Lindon said.

"You have to think deeply into it when it concerns not only our people but the citizens of other countries." The King said.

Is there anything wrong with the gift?

And Lindon asked it.

"Is there anything wrong with the gift, Your Highness?" Lindon asked.

"Nonsense." A voice rang through the Imperial Hall.

"How can there be anything wrong with me?" A female voice asked.
