"I just wish that the whole day would just finish fast before I get the idea of running away from this marriage," I said to myself.
"Though I don't think anyone will actually blame you if you decide to run away," Belle said.
"Wait, the Queen will be. She was so excited that you will be her daughter-in-law. Even though it is for her scheme, she is the only one who is genuinely happy that you are getting married." Belle said.
"What about you and Father?" I asked.
"Are you really asking us that question, Ana?" Belle asked and I smiled playfully.
"Your Father is in a situation, where if we do not keep an eye on him, he might just go and kill the Second Prince." Belle said and I laughed.
"Literally." Belle said and I laughed even more.
"Alright, alright. Anyway, where is the wedding dress and the helpers?" I asked.
"That... is actually a bit absurd. We got a message telling that the dress arrived at the Palace. Since they didn't want the dress being spoiled during the way to the Palace." Belle said with a hint of uncertainty.
I grinned.
Great Maylene. You didn't disappoint me at all.
"Alright then. What are we waiting for?" I asked and started to move out.
"Ana, you knew that the dress would arrive there?" Belle asked.
"I knew that they would something to get me at the Palace." I said.
"I understand." Belle said and I smiled.
When we descended the stairs, Father came.
He was surprised when he looked at me.
"I get it that you don't like this marriage, but do you have to go to such lengths to make sure that this marriage doesn't happen? I mean even they might not cancel it even you wear something like this." Father said.
I smiled.
"Father, Father. To how much length will you take your imagination to, Father?" I asked, smiling.
"What do you mean?" Father was clearly confused.
"Father," I said and got near to him and hooked his arms in mine.
"A letter from the Palace came, telling that the wedding dress arrived there. So, I have to go there to get ready for the wedding." I said.
"And even if I want the wedding to stop, I won't do meaningless things like these. But rather crafty ones, like... the ones you are going to see." I said, grinning.
"I knew it. I knew that my daughter wouldn't just sit back and do nothing." Father almost squealed with happiness.
"Alright, alright. I will take my leave then." I said.
"Wait! Did you eat anything?" Father asked, growing concerned.
"Ah! I forgot." I said, suddenly remembering.
"Seriously, dear. Is eating something that you forget casually?" Father asked, with a sigh.
"Belle." Father said.
"Lady Aesther's food is ready. According to the plan, she will eat in the carriage, as not to delay matters anymore." Belle said, bowing.
"Alright. Start moving. I will meet you at the Imperial Palace." Father said and I nodded, smiling.
I then got out and got in the carriage.
When I got in the carriage, Sir Cross was already waiting for me.
"Sir Cross?" I asked.
"Ah, Lady Aesther!" Sir Cross was about to bow when I stopped him.
"I told you already, I don't let people, who I have bowed to, bow to me." I said, smiling.
"Alright then. As the Lady says." Sir Cross said ad I smiled.
"Alright. Coachman, to the Imperial Palace." I said and the horse neighed.
When we reached the Palace, the guards guided me to the dressing room.
Once I entered the room, I saw the maids, looking gloomy, as usual.
I smiled.
Everything is like a replay.
"So, are you all Ladies ready for your mission?" I asked, smiling.
"L-lady, what are y-you talking a-about?" One of the maids started stuttering and the rest started to get scared.
"What? You people have a mission to make me the most beautiful person in the auditorium today." I said, smiling.
"Ah..." They sighed in relief.
"It is alright. I understand that you all are a bit tense, but it is alright. Loosen up yourself." I said.
The maids then exchanged looks, of what can be translated into, she is really stupid, right?
I so badly wanted to scoff at them.
But then I suppressed it with a smile.
They started to get me ready.
And I, was getting impatient.
Why do they have to wait till the end of make-up to chloroform me? It is not going to be of use anyway.
"Miss," Suddenly one maid leaned in to whisper in my ear.
Finally. I thought.
"We are very sorry." The maid said.
But this time, I did something I didn't do in my last life.
I acted.
"Of course, you must be sorry." I said and caught the hand that was about to chloroform me.
"M-Miss." She was horrified.
"Bunch of traitors. You tried to kill an imperial family member." I said.
What gave you the guts?" I asked.
"Or rather, who?" I asked.
"W-what do you mean?" One of the maids asked.
I rolled my eyes, dramatically.
"C'mon, who do you think you are kidding? You thought that you and your Mistress had a perfect plan?" I asked.
"W-we don't know what you are talking about." Another maid said.
"Who are you people kidding? Like, literally? I had been like waiting for this day when Maylene finally could me by my back, like the usual coward she is." I said.
"You knew?" A maid asked.
"You admit?" I asked, back.
She then bit her lip.
"Since things have come to this, we don't have any other choice." The Boldest one of them said.
"Alright." I said and clapped my hands.
All of them were clearly shocked.
"This applause is for your bravery, which is totally unlike your Mistress." I said.
"But, one thing every one of you share with your Mistress, is your stupidity." I said.
"What do you mean?" The one who threatened to kill me said.
"Do you think that if I knew I will walk into the Lion's den myself with no back-up plan?" I said.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"Staying put on one goal is really something admired about. But one needs to know when you need to give up and your limits.
Staying put on one's goal when there is no more point in it, is utter stupidity." I said.
I smiled and snapped my fingers.
"Surprise!" I said and guards emerged from all the corners.
"Adam!" I called and the head of guards.
He turned his head to me, then bowed. "Yes, Ma'am." He answered.
"We have to good festival going outside. So, I don't want this to disturb the guests." I said.
"Understood, Ma'am." I said.
"You-you, you just don't want to alert Mistress Maylene." The one who threatened told me.
"Good thing that you have started to use your brains. But a pity that you did it a bit too late." I said.
"And did you seriously think that none of the guards understood that? Please, these are not Maylene's or Prince Louis's soldiers. They are Crown Prince Lindon soldiers." I said.
The guards then took down each of the maids.
I then got out of the room after every maid was taken out.
I then heaved a sigh.
"First Part, over. I just hope everything is waiting for me in the wedding arena." I said to myself and looked at the ceiling, sending a silent prayer to whichever god may be listening.
