Love of the Twilight "Alright."
Daniel smiled and nodded, he looked to the woman in the wheelchair and said, "We are eating dinner, there is your favorite fish, I was going to go fishing myself, but Alice did not allow me, so I let someone else go fish."
Alice looked at Angelina.
She sat in a wheelchair with a gray blanket covering her withered legs. She didn't speak as if she hadn't heard them, and she just looked at the sunlit sea in the distance.
Alice gazed at the direction of the sea, the sea was so beautiful that it looked ethereal.
"She really likes the sea. Although she used to live on the island, she rarely had the chance to see the sea." Daniel stood behind Angelina and said with a doting smile, "I never thought that she would still like the sea so much even though she doesn't know anyone."
Daniel's voice was hoarse and gentle, but Alice's heart ached when she heard it.
"Get ready to eat."
Alice laughed and said, she carried the plate to the table and placed it there.
Sue and the landlady stood there as they laid dishes, just like when they arrived at the island on the first day. Today was their last day on the island.
"So it's them."
The landlady stood there and said, she looked in the direction of Daniel and Angelina, "I recognize them."
"Yes." Alice smiled and nodded, she said, "If it wasn't for the feudal system on the island back then, they would have been able to live together."
The landlady sighed emotionally and said, "At that time, I thought they were a good match, but I didn't expect that girl to become the Heavenly Girl."
Alice's heart ached.
"I wonder what she was thinking when she accepted all the torture without hesitation?" The landlady sighed.
Alice looked at Sue who had a sorrowful expression on her face when she heard this. Alice also did not feel well in her heart, and she wanted to know what Angelina was thinking at that time.
Why would there be people willing to become the Heavenly Girl? They would be tormented, trampled upon.
How many people could have such courage?
"The dishes tonight are very sumptuous. I've never seen them before." David said as he looked at the table full of dishes as David and William walked over.
William walked forward and habitually hugged Alice.
"We will be leaving tomorrow, so I specially requested the landlady to pick some native vegetables on the island." Alice said with a smile as she turned to look at William, "Sit down and eat."
"Alright."
William nodded, hugged her and sat down.
On the other side, Daniel also pushed Angelina over. He picked up the bowl and scooped up the soup, then fed it to Angelina bit by bit.
She sat there, allowing Daniel to feed her with a numb expression. She couldn't swallow it as the soup flowed down her mouth.
Daniel immediately wiped it off with a tissue and continued to feed her as if he was coaxing a little child. "Come on, swallow it, be good," he said.
Angelinalooked at the ocean, he did not know if she heard it, but occasionally she would swallow it and sometimes she would forget it. She let the soup flow out from her mouth again, wetting her chin.
Daniel wiped the soup off again, not bothering to eat his dinner at all.
However, none of the people at the table spoke a word. William did not even glance at them as he focused on eating.
This table of food was made by Alice, he could not waste it.
Alice then scooped another bowl of soup and handed it over to Daniel. Daniel looked at her gratefully and then looked at William.
"She looks better than she did yesterday."
David looked at Angelina and said.
"That's right. Her complexion is much better and she's eating more than yesterday." Daniel said with a smile. His tone was gratified and proud, as if this was something to be proud of.
"Mother seems to like the soup I make. I'll make it for her every day after we go back."
Alice said.
"That's not good."
"What's wrong? Isn't it normal for daughter to take care of foster mother?" Alice smiled and said, "Speaking of which, my foster mother must have been extremely beautiful when she was young. Her eyes are really bright, like gems."
After hearing that, everyone looked at Angelina's eyes. Although she was old, her eyes were like gems, no matter how many years had passed, she would always be extremely beautiful.
Beautiful.
It was impossible to tell from her eyes that she was old.
"Not as beautiful as you!"
William said as he raised his eyes to look at Alice.
The crowd was silent.
Amidst the breeze, Angelina sat there and swallowed the soup. Looked Alice, her mouth suddenly twitched as if she was smiling.
Everyone was dumbfounded as they stared at her.
"She smiled."
It was unknown who said that, but Daniel stared blankly at Angelina as the bowl in his hands dropped.
Alice immediately revealed a gentle smile, and Angelina looked at her, the smile on her face widened.
Angelina was really beautiful.
Just from her eyes alone, Alice was certain that she was the most beautiful girl on the island when she was young.
This woman was too great. She had sacrificed too much for Daniel and her family, even William had to admire and respect her, if not, he would not tolerate such a person eating at their table.
Sue walked over holding a handkerchief and carefully wiped the soup off her mouth, then said to Daniel: "Hey, I'll do it."
Hearing that, Daniel froze. He looked at Sue blankly and smiled.
Alice sat opposite of them, quietly watching the scene with a smile on her face.
If only Angelina could live indefinitely.
Foster father and his family would live a good life forever. They would be happy and full of bliss. Any feeling of loss or guilt would disappear.
The dusk seemed particularly long.
After dinner, the entire island was still as bright as ever. Before she left, Alice was pulled by William to walk around the island.
The islanders again gathered in the small inn to watch television.
The bodyguards dutifully guarded the island.
Daniel pushed Angelina towards the shore. The closer they got to the ocean, the louder the sound of the waves. Waves of waves hit the shore and the sun was on the other side of the sea.
The road beneath his feet was getting softer and softer, making it unsuitable for the wheelchair to continue moving forward.
Daniel lowered his head, only to see Angelina staring fixedly at the ocean, her mouth raised slightly, as though she was smiling, 'Are you happy? You want to get closer to the sea, right?"
Angelina did not reply him, she only looked at the ocean.
Seeing that, Daniel reached out and pressed his hand to the wound on his chest, gritting his teeth, then reached out and picked Angelina up from the wheelchair.
Angelina was extremely thin and light, almost to the point of being weightless. However, Daniel was injured, it was difficult to carry her.
Sue, who was standing not far from them, immediately spoke up: "Hey."
She was worried.
Daniel stood on the beach, turned his eyes and looked at Sue, then said with a smile, "It's alright, I can carry her. Your mother wants to see the ocean."
Sue shut her mouth and quietly watched Daniel carry Angelina to the seaside.
Sue followed him.
The closer he was to the beach, the more Daniel felt that her lips was raised higher and higher. She really liked the ocean.
When they arrived at the seaside, Daniel used up all his energy and couldn't hold on any longer. Sue hurried to help. Daniel sat down by the seaside, hugging Angelina to his chest and covered her legs with a blanket.
Sue retreated to the side as her eyes became red.
After sitting down for a while, Daniel began to pant heavily. After a long while, he finally regained his senses, looked towards the calm ocean and smiled, "It's been decades, I never thought that we can come to this beach together again." Angelina leaned against his chest without any form of resistance or emotion. She just stared at the surface of the sea.
"You were such a prankster back then, you just went straight into the sea and scared me to death. I thought I lost you for quite a few times." Daniel muttered, he did not care whether Angelina heard it or not, "Fortunately, I managed to find you."
Angelina maintained her smile.
Sue stood away. After hearing Daniel's voice, her eyes turned even redder.
"At that time, you always liked to say that you wanted to be a tree by the sea. Do you really like the sea that much?" Daniel asked.
No one answered him.
"Look, I still have the pocket watch you gave me. I didn't have it broken for decades." Daniel said, "I can't even sleep if I don't hear its voice now." Daniel took off his pocket watch, opened the watch's lid, and placed it beside Angelina's ear.
Ticktock.
The second hand moved slowly, like the rhythm of the waves, like his heartbeat.
Angelina quietly listened to the voice with her eyes still looking at the sea. Daniel lowered his eyes to look at her smiling face and smiled.
"It's good that you don't recognize me. I'm so old now, I don't even dare to recognize myself anymore."
Daniel said with a smile.
Angelina smiled.
"After I escaped from the island, I found doctors everywhere to treat my mother's illness, but she still died." Daniel said, "Afterwards, I worked hard outside alone and then I became a butler."
