"You're not a servant, you don't have to do this."

William said in a deep voice.

Hearing that, Alice smiled happily, "Then what am I?"

"..."William looked at her and snorted coldly," I have always recognized you as my fiancee, and it was you who has been causing trouble.

"Yes, yes, yes. It's my fault." Alice walked in and asked casually: "Why did you open the door before I knock?"

"To get some fresh air."

William said in a low voice.

"What's wrong? Is there something troubling you?"

Alice walked over to the french window and found a small table and placed all of the dishes on it.

"Nothing."

William was the one who ended the conversation.

"Oh." Alice did not continue asking, and turned her gaze to the wall. There was a portrait of William on the wall, and her gaze warmed up: "This painting is still hanging here?"

William followed her eyesight and looked over, and said coldly: "There is no need to hang this thing, and there is also no need to specifically take it off."

Alice stood there and bit her lips. Being with William was not something that one could do easily.

She looked at the documents and books on the table which were piled high, and understood that William was busy with work, so she said, "Then I'll leave. Don't work too late."

She prepared to leave.

"Wait." William's voice sounded from behind her.

Alice turned her head around, only to see William sitting down in front of the small table. "Come here, I have something to ask you."

"What is it?"

Alice asked puzzledly as she walked over and sat down on the carpet beside him. "Last time, you said that you hoped that the other party's holographic image would appear during the call, tell me the details." William said in a low voice.

Holographic image?

So he was asking her about these things. Was it only when he was at work that he would speak properly?

Alice sat there and thought for a while, "I was just randomly thinking, if there was a holographic image standing in front of me when I made the phone call, it would be like talking to him face to face, wouldn't that be great?"

"What's so good about it?"

William interrupted her with a cold tone, "Do you know how long it took for all the functions to be embedded in a phone?"

Alice stared at him blankly. Was this related to their conversation?

"The function of a technology should be focused, the holographic technology focused on dealing with work problems yet you want to..."

Blabla...

Alice sat there in a daze, listening to his words, she felt as though she had been struck by a series of cannons, her ears were buzzing, she could not help but lick her lips.

"What do you lick your lips for?"

William said coldly, his black eyes stared straight at her lips.

What did she mean by licking her lips? Was she going to tempt him?

As he thought about it, William once again felt that his mind was in a mess. He really didn't like this.

"I..." Alice's heart was filled with a stifling feeling. She looked at William and said weakly, "I just randomly mentioned an idea. I didn't know it was so difficult to realize."

"Give it up?" William stared at her, "You made a suggestion, and you easily give it up?"

"You can reject my suggestion."

Being stared at by his ice-cold eyes, Alice didn't why she made a mistake again.

'Tm the CEO, I don't reject it, who dares to do so?" William looked at her coldly, "How can you give up so easily?"

How could she give up so easily?

Alice was startled. She suddenly remembered that when he had said those words, his eyes were always staring straight at her. He was especially fierce before and but he was cold now.

His expression was different, but his tone was the same.

As expected, something in his bones hasn't completely changed, right?

"William." Alice looked at him with admiration. "Perhaps this is a really difficult task, but if you really want to do it, I believe that you will complete it."

William pursed his lips and withdrew his gaze.

"If even you can't do it, I'm sure no one else can." Alice said seriously.

She believed that he was omnipotent. His talent in science and technology was unparalleled today.

She sat there looking at him with adoration in her eyes. That gaze could melt any man's vanity.

William looked at her, then took off the lid to the soup on the table and said, "Alright, let's have some midnight snacks first."

"I seem to have some ideas."

William suddenly stood up from the table, walked towards the desk and picked up the book and started flipping through it with all his might.

Alice closed the lid again and walked over to William's side. Seeing that he was flipping through the books, and was about to throw the books away when it was not the right one, he seemed to think of something and strongly pressed retracted his hands.

Alice felt that this action of his was somewhat strange.

She stood aside and watched him flip through the book for a while. Then he began to type rapidly on the keyboard.

Alice looked at the dishes on the table, thought for a while but did not remind him to eat it.

It was the same for her when she painted. She would not listen to anyone.

Alice could not understand the contents on the computer screen, and lowered her eyes to look at William.

Men who were working were indeed charming.

Alice lowered her gaze and looked at him.

Looking at him, Alice felt her body heating up, her mouth became extremely dry.

Was the temperature of this study room too high?

Alice licked her lips and decided to leave in order to drink some water. She did not disturb William and walked out quietly, but just as she walked two steps, she heard William's low voice saying, "Take a chair over and sit beside me."

"Why?"

She was thirsty and wanted water.

Alice turned and looked at him.

William sat there and quickly typed on the keyboard. Without even raising his head, he said, "If you leave, all the things that I have been thinking about will leave my mind."

Why did the things in his head go with her?

Alice looked at him in confusion, but she still obediently took a chair over and sat beside him, quietly watching his work.

But his work was beyond her comprehension.

Therefore, the more Alice sat there, the more bored she became.

Late at night, the study was so quiet.

So uncomfortable.

So hot.

She didn't know if it was because of the wine, but it was only two glasses of red wine. Alice took off her jacket and placed it on the back of the chair, continuing to sit quietly.

Time ticked by.

After half an hour, the food had become cold, but William still continued to work non-stop, showing no signs of stopping.

Alice could only sit there and feel that it was still hot even after taking off her jacket. She touched her neck and felt that her skin was burning hot.

Alice really wanted to go back and take a cold shower, but she couldn't.

She looked down at her clothes. She was afraid of the cold, so she wore two or three sweaters at the same time.

Alice quietly took off the most outer woolen sweater, and only then did she feel slightly more comfortable.

But very quickly, Alice felt uncomfortable again, her entire body was scorching hot, her mouth was dry, and her heart was beating extremely quickly.

It was a familiar feeling.

She remembered that she had been drugged by her adoptive mother a few years ago. It felt a little similar, but the difference was that she didn't feel muddle- headed. She only felt that her body was extremely hot.

She couldn't tell if she was really drugged again.

She sat there and took a deep breath, trying to relieve the heat in her body.

William sat there and typed some words. When he turned his head, he saw Alice sitting beside him, wearing only a thin, close-fitting sweater, the white sweater outlined the curves of her body, while her face was flushed red and her eyes were blurry. She was even holding her hair with her hands, looking pure and enticing. William thought he saw wrongly, and his eyes froze for a moment.

Alice awkwardly removed her hand.

"Feel hot?"

William asked. Wasn't she afraid of cold?

"Right, right. Maybe the temperature set for the air conditioner is too high. "Alice said as she held her face.

"I didn't turn on the air conditioner."

Alice was so embarrassed that she did not know what to say as she sat there with her head lowered.

"What's the matter with you?" William asked coldly, "Did someone drug you?"

"How is this possible? Who would drug me?"

Suddenly, she thought of the red wine that Daniel gave her. She seemed to remember that by the time Daniel brought the bottle over, the cork of the bottle had already been opened.

No way.

Her foster father wouldn't be so shameless.
