Hearing such absolute words, Alice didn't know what to say either. She looked at William and pursed her lips.
She looked at William, "Then what kind of wife do you want me to be?"
"Very simple." William took another bite of the apple, "Love me, only have me in your eyes, but don't stick to me, I hate this kind of behavior, you only need to stay at home, you don't need to show yourself, just take good care of these two children, and don't interfere with me, that's enough."
Alice went silent, she turned and looked at the sky outside the window.
The one who used to be most sticky now told her that he hated being attached to.
"What do you think?" William asked.
"Isn't there still a few more days before the press conference?"
Alice admitted that she did not think it through. She did not know if she could do everything he said.
William bit the apple so hard that the sound was clear, his black eyes stared at her face, "I have to prepare in advance, you won't let me stand on stage before the press conference to tell you the answer, right?"
So she had to choose, didn't she?
"What is called non-interference?" Alice turned and looked at William, staring into his black eyes, "If there's anything that's beyond my bottom line, I shouldn't care, right?"
"What bottom line?"
William had already consumed half of the apple.
"For example, making someone sit on your thigh." Alice said with a serious tone.
Ever since the matter about Mona, Alice understood that the current William was far from being as clear of this as he was in the past. In the past, if he wanted her, he would only want her and no one else.
Hearing this, William seemed to have heard a joke, and said while looking at her, "That was just acting on the spot."
Was she jealous?
"So you think that's normal?" Alice asked, "Would you allow such a thing to happen to yourself?"
When she asked this question, it was a little aggressive.
"So you're saying that you will intervene in this matter. If I have a woman by my side at a certain ball, would you come and question me?"
"Shouldn't I? I can't be so magnanimous. "Alice said very honestly, "And I really want to take care of you, including your three meals a day. I will send them all to you after I finish making them."
He looked into her eyes and did not say anything for a long time. He raised his hand and threw the other half of the apple into the dustbin accurately.
William stood there with an indifferent expression.
After a while.
He opened his mouth, "Alice, perhaps you are right. After I recover from my sickness, I think you and I are really not that compatible."
Alice stood there and stared at him, not understanding what he meant.
"Tell me the answer the day before the press conference. You compromise, or I compromise." William said in a low voice as he lifted his legs and walked out of the ward.
Alice bit her lips, touched her long hair and sighed.
William's men failed catching Mr. Y, Mr. Y still went abroad. With regards to his true face, Alice still had no way of knowing.
William was trying to find out more about Mr. Y, but according to Daniel, he was hiding his identity very well.
On the day that Alice left the hospital, William did not come.
William never came to see her again. She had her bottom line, he had his, and every time they mentioned the matter of marriage, they would argue.
Time passed day by day.
Alice thought everyday about what she should do.
The gallery was only separated by a quiet road from the N.E. On the second floor of the N.E Tower, William was in a meeting.
The subordinates were making reports to while holding documents.
William had been sedentary for too long, he stood up from the chair, walked towards the huge window while listening, he was holding a pen and twirling it around.
He stood at the window and looked down. At the entrance of the gallery opposite to him, Alice was carrying a ladder.
She just recovered yet she held a heavy ladder.
Why did she always like to do so many unnecessary things?
Alice steadied the ladder and climbed up by herself. William stood straight and did not take in what his subordinate had said.
Alice climbed up the ladder as if she did not know what fear was.
Then, William saw Alice taking down the signboard of the gallery as she tore down the word "home".
What does that mean? She tore down the word "home"?
That was the sign that she had waited for him for four years.
If she dismantled it, it would mean that she wasn't going to wait anymore?
As expected, she would not compromise.
William had guessed it, and his face was gloomy. He had already guessed that she would not compromise, so he stopped taking the medicine early on.
However, she made the current him live like a joke, as if he was someone who completely didn't need to appear. He carried her expectations, but in the end he disappointed her.
"CEO, I'm done.'
William turned and coldly looked at every face at the table, then walked to the table and said indifferently: "Alright, this is it, this is it for today."
The crowd was in an uproar.
It was done? This wasn't even halfway through!
"All of you can leave." William said, he placed the pen gently on the table.
"Yes, CEO."
Everyone looked at William, confused, then picked up the documents in their hands and left the conference room.
William sat there, stared at the pen on the table.
Then let him do something before disappearing.
He had to prove the meaning of his existence.
William picked up his phone, dialed a number, and asked coldly: "How is the matter going? End it as soon as possible."
Alice took down the word "home" from her signboard and placed it inside the gallery. Inside the gallery, there was no longer any sign of business.
Alice squatted and wiped the signboard.
"Alice." Daniel walked in with the dishes he bought, only to see Alice squatting there, and could not help but say: "You said that you were hesitating, but actually you already have an answer in your heart."
She decided to close the gallery, didn't she?
This was the most direct compromise.
Alice smiled bitterly. The day after tomorrow, it would be the holographic technology's press conference. Tomorrow, she had to give William an answer.
Daniel placed the dishes in the kitchen, walked out and stood beside her, and said, "There's something that I don't know whether or not I should tell you."
Alice raised her head and looked at Daniel in confusion.
Daniel hesitated for a few seconds before saying, "I heard some news about Italy. Rumor has it that it's been a mess over there recently."
Hearing that, Alice was startled, she then took a duster and stood up, "Foster father, you want to talk about news about Patrick?"
She hadn't thought of that name in a long time.
She had cut off all ties with him.
"I don't know the details, killing and murdering, something like that, as though Patrick's faction was also involved, but he was always low key and mysterious as he promised the Brown Family, so I was unable to find out more about it." Daniel said.
"Is that so?"
Alice said, she was calm.
"After all, he has the power and money of your Brown Family. Alice, do you not care?" Daniel stood in front of her and said, "I actually hope that he will suffer a crushing defeat, and that will be his retribution."
The Brown couple died unjustly.
"I have nothing to do with him anymore. Whether he lived well or not, it has nothing to do with me."
Alice squatted and continued to clean the signboard. For the past four years, she had deliberately forgotten about Patrick. There were too many sorrows between them.
Every year, she would go to pay her respects to her parents. She also vaguely knew that Patrick was watching her from afar.
But every time, she would pretend that she didn't realize it, that she didn't feel it.
She really didn't care about him anymore.
"Mm, then I won't talk about him anymore." Daniel nodded, then turned and left.
Alice squatted there and polished the signboard over and over again, wiping the word "home" on her signboard.
Home.
One by one, her homes were destroyed, and she wondered if she had the courage to behave perfectly in a new home.
The next day.
Alice closed the gallery, and she decided to give William a reply.
She hoped it wouldn't end badly this time.
Alice stood at the door and slowly closed the glass door, looking at everything inside the gallery. Here, she waited four years.
Now, all of this had finally come to an end.
Alice closed the glass door and concluded these four years as well.
She turned and looked across at the N.E., she held her bag, then lifted her foot and walked forward, the sound of a car horn ringing in her ear.
Alice turned her head and saw a van parked there.
The car window was rolled down, revealing an unfamiliar face, "Miss Alice, there's a delivery for you."
Delivery?
Alice was startled, she did not buy anything online. Did foster father buy something?
The delivery boy jumped down from the car and handed her a heavy package, "Please sign this."
"Oh, okay."
Alice did not think too much, she received the package and looked at it warily. She took out her phone to call Daniel, "Hello, foster father, is there an express delivery?"
