There was no sound from the main room at night, and everyone slept.
Alice took a deep breath and walked towards Patrick's room. Pushing open the door, it was pitch black inside, with the curtains drawn, without any light at all.
She closed the door behind her and leaned against it. Her eyes were filled with darkness, which frightened her, and she subconsciously reached for the wall to turn on the light.
She can't turn on the light.
It will be discovered.
She was not afraid of the dark, what was there to be afraid of? Alice closed her eyes and took a deep breath, continuously telling something to herself that if William was here, how he would do.
He will be calm.
He was not afraid of the dark.
Therefore, she wasn't afraid of the dark, too.
Alice opened her eyes, then took out her cell phone and pressed a little light onto the surroundings. As she walked towards the desk, she opened the laptop on the table, and then took out a small silver box from her pocket once again.
She inserted the silver box directly into her cell phone.
She found this in William's study before she came to Italy. As long as it was plugged in, Daniel would be able to help her help her monitor Patrick's phone.
The only way she could think of was something that William had taught her.
The phone was being implanted with the virus, and the laptop was on. She quickly dimmed the screen, then took out a USB drive and inserted it into the USB port.
She used all the methods necessary to monitor Patrick.
Brown Family wouldn't be able to come back, she only hoped to find the whereabouts of William using such a method.
If he was dead, she wanted to see his corpse.
As the computer and cell phone's virus were being implanted at the same time, Alice looked at the time. There should be enough time, it would take a long time to boil the bone soup.
Alice stood up from the desk and turned around. Borrowing the faint light from the screen, she was able to see that behind the desk was a row of bookshelves filled with books and documents.
She carefully picked up a document and moved it in front of her computer, using the dim light to read the words on it, these were all trifling matters of the Brown Family, she placed the document back and continued to take one, suddenly seeing traces of a picture frame appearing beside the document.
Alice looked over in doubt, then took out the picture frame and walked to the front of the table, using the dim light to look at it.
It was a damaged painting.
There were traces of collage on it. It was a picture of a snowy scene. The young man and the young girl were having a snowball fight in the snow. Both of them had bright smiles on their faces.
Alice's memories were suddenly brought back to her and her throat felt like it was choked, which was extremely dry.
He remembered their childhood together.
She still vividly remembered how they had been when they were young. She really wanted to believe in him without reservation.
That snow-like youth must be the cleanest.
Alice touched the drawing with her finger and said softly. "I hope I was wrong; I hope everything is because I am too stupid."
She put the painting back on the shelf and looked at the computer and the virus bars on her cell phone, but she didn't stop them.
She did not stop.
With her father dead, William's whereabouts were unknown, and the current she no longer had the qualifications to act on emotions.
Waiting for the virus to finish reading, Alice turned off the computer and put the phone back in her pocket.
The room was suddenly restored to darkness. There was no light at all.
Alice rubbed the darkness as she left the room, walked out, and walked all the way down the stairs.
In the kitchen, Patrick was still busy. She walked over, put the phone into his jacket pocket as if nothing had happened, then walked over to him and said softly, "It will take a long time to make this soup."
Patrick who was leaning on the table and waiting for the soup to boil heard the sound and turned to look at her. "Aunt is asleep?"
"Yes." "Yes." Alice nodded, then walked to his side and leaned on the table like him, facing flow table, "She was tired these past two days, she forced herself to smile at me, and when she turned around, she started crying. I was afraid that she wouldn't be able to sleep well tonight, so I put some sleeping pills in her milk, so she can finally sleep well tonight."
"Auntie should be fine."
Patrick turned his eyes and stared at her as he spoke.
"My mother is suffering from mild depression, so I'm more worried." Alice said. "Don't worry, I'm already looking for a professional psychiatrist. Coincidentally, I have a few pretty good doctors here. Choose one." Patrick walked to the door, picked up the jacket off the chair, and took out his phone from inside. Alice looked back at him, observing his movements.
Patrick swiped the phone a few times. His expression did not change, and Alice heaved a sigh of relief.
"Let me show you."
Patrick handed the phone over to her, and the phone was filled with the information of an outstanding therapist. Alice looked at it and said, "That's fine, it seems like their resumes are all very good."
"Alright, I'll contact one of them to ask him to come over and enlighten my aunt." Patrick put down his phone, then slowly put down the sleeves of his shirt, and said, "Aunt has always lived on the island, other than some banquets, she never left it. She only has family in her eyes, and her personality is even more innocent than yours.
"My nature is no longer simple."
Alice smiled uncertainly.
Patrick lowered his eyes to look at her, and said while leaning on the dining table, "Could it be that it isn't so? In these past two years, too many things have happened. Since he's betrothed to William, he has gone missing again for no reason."
Patrick stood beside her silently.
"Maybe I really don't deserve a family."
She thought she had it, but it was so easily broken.
"I don't think so." Patrick looked at her, his gaze deep, his voice warm like wine that had just been brewed. "You haven't found the person who can give it to your family yet."
This time, it was Alice who turned silent.
She raised her eyes and stared into his, and Patrick looked at her.
Right now, Alice could not even be considered beautiful, her skinny face was extremely small, without any makeup. Her eyes were bloodshot, and even her eyes did not look clear.
But while she quietly watched him like this, Patrick's heart still skipped a beat. How long had this woman been in his thoughts for?
Every time he had felt her approach him over the past two years, she had drifted away from him, out of sight, without telephone, without connection, as if she had completely forgotten him.
Now that William had lost his power and the Brown Family was his, he no longer had to worry about when she would float away.
Patrick pressed a hand on her shoulder, lowered his head and kissed her lips.
"Patrick."
Alice stood in front of him without moving, but her gaze was a little cold.
Patrick's face was extremely close to hers. He pursed his lips and did not continue to kiss her.
Alice pushed his hand away and said indifferently, "You can go back and rest. I just need to wait for the soup to boil."
Patrick did not move any further, and said gently, "I will accompany you here." "Maybe Mary is still waiting for you. It's too late, you should go back."
Alice said.
"You know that Mary and I haven't slept in the same room, so she doesn't need to wait for me." Patrick said, his eyes staring straight at her, explaining.
"How would you know if you didn't go and see?"
"I cooked the bone soup, so you don't know how much more ingredients to add.
I'll wait for you to finish the soup before I go up." Patrick said, and insisted on accompanying her.
Alice really wanted to say that she no longer had an appetite, but thought better of it.
For some reason, she still felt that Patrick still had feelings for her.
If everything was done by him, wouldn't it be a joke if he still had feelings for her?
That night, Alice and Patrick stood in the kitchen waiting for a pot of bone soup to boil.
The sun rose, illuminating the entire Procida Island.
Alice stood by the window holding a cup of coffee and looked down, only to see many men in uniform walking around. It was called a patrol, but it was also a form of surveillance.
The sunlight fell on her face, her eyes revealing her thoughts.
The current situation was that she and Beverly were no longer of use to Patrick. She pretended to be ignorant, hoping that Patrick would consider childhood sweetheart and not kill all of them and the Brown Family.
Fortunately, she left today.
As long as he left this island and Italy, Patrick would not be able to extend his hand for that long.
Alice sipped on her coffee and looked down. Suddenly, she saw two familiar figures standing at the edge of the flower beds in the distance.
Mary.
Patrick.
Just as the two were chatting about something, they saw Mary bending her waist and lowering her head as if she was apologizing.
Seeing that, Alice immediately turned around and walked to her bed, placed the coffee cup to the side, turned on the computer, pressed a few buttons with her finger, and then picked up the earphone and placed it by her ear.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, Patrick, I didn't mean to do it."
Mary's voice immediately travelled into her ears.
It was very difficult for Alice to constantly monitor Patrick here, so she was only listening in because her own country's Daniel sent people to monitor him.
Sure enough, Mary was apologizing.
"What you did was too childish. We weren't even children anymore, sprinkling beads at places Alice passed by, spitting water in her cup ... I don't want to see that kind of childish behavior again!" Patrick's voice was somewhat stern, reprimanding Mary, "If there's a next time, I won't care about you anymore!" Alice sat on the bed and listened in astonishment. She had spent the past two days thinking about Patrick and had not paid attention to what Mary had done to her.
She looked at the coffee cup beside her and suddenly felt nauseous.
Mary was extremely jealous of her as usual, to actually do such a despicable thing.
"I won't! I won't! Don't chase me away!" I promise you, even if the sister is really together with you, I wouldn't be jealous. I only want to be by your side, and that's fine, don't drive me away, I beg you, I beg you, I guarantee that I will be very obedient, I will do whatever you say."
Immediately after, a sound of something hitting the ground sounded out, and Mary should be the one kneeling.
Alice frowned.
