Sandra continuedâ¦
âTo save my people from extinction, my father made a pact with the King of the Great Whites â his daughter would marry the kingâs son.
I never wanted to marry him, but I had to â for the survival of the merfolk.
My two children were born, but I was always searching for a way to save them⦠and myself⦠from that fate.
Until one day, a Seer from the Volcano Islands in the Pacific told me how â but it came with a price.â
âWhat price?â I asked, completely absorbed by her story.

I still wasnât sure if I believed any of it. But the idea of a hidden world beneath the sea, a world different from everything we know, stirred something deep inside me â curiosity, wonder, and a desire to keep listening.
It felt like trying to piece together a forgotten puzzle with missing fragments I was desperate to find.
Sandra answered.
âThe price was to renounce everything tied to the sea â our powers, our immortality, everything.
We would become ordinary humans.
Our lives would be shorter, weaker⦠but free.
I didnât hesitate. My childrenâs safety mattered more than anything. Mine, too.
The Seer told me to travel to the Mediterranean â where the Great Whites were fewer and our presence would go unnoticed.
So we did. We crossed into the Mediterranean and set foot on land, on a small island south of Spain.
That was the price we paid for our freedom.â
âAnd how did you end up here?â I asked her.
âHow we ended up hereâ¦
That⦠is a story for the next chapter.
Where everything slowly begins.â
