Chapter 56 The Three Loving Kids
Vania scanned her surroundings and realized that she was currently at the hospital.
She could recall being hit by a car, but as for who rescued her afterward and how she arrived at the hospital, she was completely clueless about all this. She tried to recall the situation, but she felt her head throb painfully and instinctively frowned.
James instantly held her hand. âMommy, whatâs wrong?â
Jack also quickly pressed the bell to buzz for help. âThe doctor will be here right away.â
As for Jacob, he used his soft little hands and took a towel to wipe the beads of sweat on Vaniaâs forehead. âMommy, where exactly do you feel unwell?â
Vania bravely smiled when she saw the worried looks on the faces of her three kids. âDonât worry, kids. Iâm fine. I donât feel unwell at all right now.â
However, the smile that she revealed was quite painful as it stretched her dry, chapped lips.
James immediately grabbed some water and put a straw inside to place in front of Vania. âMommy, have a sip of water. Iâve added some sugar inside. I remember that you used to make us some sugary drinks when we were sick, so itâs our turn to do this for you now that youâre unwell.â
Jack also held her hand tightly. âMommy, youâve been unconscious for more than a day after being hit by the car. We were so frightened. If youâre unwell, you must mention it. The three of us will be able to take good care of you.â
A teary-eyed Jacob leaned against her arm. âMommy, do you hurt anywhere? You can cry if it hurts. Donât force yourself to tolerate it.â
At that point, Vania was quite touched. There seemed to always be a different revelation from her kids that amazed her. She tried to lift her arm with much difficulty as she stroked her three babies on their faces. âThanks, kids. I feel great right now. Iâm not in pain at all with you guys around me.â
Subsequently, Vania turned to look at Linda and seemed to be trying to signal with her eyes to find out what was going on as she couldnât quite recall the incident.
Linda moved forward with a worried expression. âBoss, you came out from Hammond International Hotel the other day and were on the way back to the company, but there was a driver who came in the wrong direction and hit you. The bystanders called the cops, and help was sent for you. The outcome of the investigation was that the other party had driven under the influence of alcohol, and the driver was pronounced dead on the scene.â
Vania nodded her head in response. It seemed that the car crash had been concluded as an accident.
However, she instructed Linda, âContinue investigating the matter.â
âBoss, Iâve already continued to investigate this matter. Donât stress yourself about this. Itâs much more important for you to rest and recuperate so that you can recover soon. Otherwise, the three little masters wonât feel at ease too.â
Vania nodded her head and held her three sonsâ hands. âHave the three of you been by my side all this while? You havenât been getting much rest, huh?â
James couldnât care less about resting. âMommy, you were unwell, so we should stay by your side. Itâs what we should do.â
âJames is right. We should take care of you, Mommy. Youâve always taken care of us when we were sick too. Right now, youâre the priority, so you shouldnât worry about us.â
Jacob spoke up in a gentle voice, âMommy, youâre our little princess. We have to protect you.â
At that point, Vania was extremely touched by their words. She was just about to advise them to go and take a rest when the doctor making rounds knocked on the door to enter the room.
The doctor saw that Vania was conscious, so he stepped forward to check on her. After thoroughly examining her, he spoke up in a professional tone. âHi, Iâm the doctor in charge of you. Youâve been involved in a very serious car crash this time, and youâve suffered fractures all over the body. You will need to be on bed rest for a month, and youâre not allowed to move unnecessarily. Besides, you must adhere strictly to my instructions and come back regularly for check-ups and physiotherapy.â
