Chapter 378 A Quiet Date
Upon noticing Larryâs expression, Hanson already knew the answer. He waved at him. âSay no more.â
He was a bit overwhelmed right then. It all points to Vania being the woman that night. But, why is everything being overturned?
Somewhat tired, Hanson said, âJust keep investigating it. I want to see what Eddie will do.â
âUnderstood.â
After Larry left, Hanson kept massaging his forehead. For some reason, he felt a bit bitter inside and only wanted to go see Vania. Yet, he did not know what to say to her.
Grabbing his keys, he drove around aimlessly.
In the end, his car arrived at Galaxy Corporation. It was already after office hours by then, as Hanson looked at his watch before calling Vania.
âHey, Hanson.â
One could, if they listened closely, hear Vaniaâs slightly tired voice.
âIâm downstairs. Iâve come to pick you up.â
Vania replied, âOkay. Iâll come down now.â She then sighed after seeing Hansonâs car through the window.
Regaining her composure, she went downstairs, acting as if nothing had happened.
Yet, while waiting for Vania, Hanson took out a cigarette from his shirt pocket in frustration.
This was the second time he smoked after meeting Vania, but he remembered that she did not like the smell of tobacco upon taking a drag, so he extinguished it.
Nevertheless, Vania still detected the smell with her sharp senses. âIs something up?â
Smiling bitterly, Hanson noticed Vaniaâs fatigue. âThatâs right. You too?â
When Vania came down, she made herself look calm and collected, but she still could not escape Hansonâs eyes in the end.
Smiling, she replied, âIâm not in a good mood.â
âCare to share what happened?â Hanson asked.
Lowering her head, Vania hid her emotions. âItâs just that I thought of things wrongly.â
Since she did not want to speak, Hanson did not question her further, as he silently drove.
Vania reached out and caressed his tightly furrowed eyebrows. âWhatâs wrong?â
Glancing at her, Hanson replied, âSame as you. An unwanted result.â
Even though the two did not expose each other, they had a feeling that they were thinking about the same thing.
Noticing the familiar street, Vania said, âWe should go back later. The kids will know somethingâs up, seeing how obvious I am.â
âWhere do you want to go?â Hanson turned the car around while asking.
âLetâs go to Hammond International Hotel.â Although she detested that place, she wanted to go there today, thinking that something might come to her mind.
The hotel was a place where food and entertainment met. It was a nice and relaxing place.
However, Hanson grew a bit worried upon hearing that Vania wanted to go there. Still, he conceded after seeing how much she wanted to go. âOkay.â
Hanson chose the top floor with the best view, as the two sat opposite each other on the balcony. âSome red wine?â
Nodding, Vania replied, âSure.â
The two did not talk while they drank from their cups and admired the view.
It was only after a long time did the wind blow their worries away, and their expressions slowly relaxed.
