Qin Youxuan twitched her nose, holding back an itch, squinting her cat-like eyes at him, pushing her luck even further, âThen, hold me as we sleep.â
âOkay.â
Dan Hanjie rolled over to lie next to her, stretching out an arm to encircle her petite body, letting her use his chest as a pillow.
The breath from his nose was cool and refreshing, Qin Youxuan closed her eyes in comfort and fell asleep.
Even breathing echoed from her side.
Dan Hanjieâs gaze flickered slightly, he turned his head and stared at her serene sleeping face.
She always curled herself up like a shrimp, a sign of insecurity.
Only in his arms did she sleep stretched out naturally.
Dan Hanjie lowered his head and gently kissed her lips.
It took him a moment to let go, still lingering.
He moved her head away from his chest, rolled over and got out of bed.
Rui Hui stood in the living room, messing with some traditional Chinese medicine in her hands, the strong smell of medicine permeating the air.
Dan Hanjie frowned, âFor her to drink?â
âYes, the smell is unpleasant, isnât it? But we have no choice, her uterine cold is severe, if we donât use strong medicine, the pain will just get worse.â Rui Hui continued her work.
She lifted her head, âUterine cold can be severe or mild. In serious cases, not only will she suffer unbearable abdominal pain every month, but it will also be very difficult for her to get pregnant.â
As Rui Hui finished her sentence, she stared at Dan Hanjieâs expression.
Aside from a flicker of surprise in his eyes, Dan Hanjieâs expression remained unchanged.
âYou already knew?â Rui Hui asked, surprised.
Dan Hanjie moved closer, his tall figure sinking into the couch, he eyed Rui Hui and smirked, âDiwu Zexuan hinted at it. Weâve been together for so long and she has never been pregnant, I figured it out.â
âXuanâs situation is very unique, I suspect⦠Never mind, Iâll discuss it after I run a thorough check-up on her.â Rui Hui became cautious when the topic turned to her professionalism.
âDonât worry, uterine cold can be treated, it doesnât necessarily mean she canât have children.â
Rui Hui looked at Dan Hanjie only to realize he didnât seem to mind at all.
âI just need her, thatâs enough.â@@novelbin@@
Long after, just when Rui Hui thought she wouldnât get an answer, Dan Hanjie suddenly murmured a sentence.
His indifferent face turned toward her, âI want you to treat her to make her more comfortable. As for the child, donât mention it to her for now.â
That cat of hers would definitely overthink things.
ââ¦â
Rui Hui was taken aback, staring at him in disbelief.
Before she could say anything, Dan Hanjie had risen from the couch and walked away.
Remembering what Dan Hanjie had just said, Rui Hui stomped her foot in frustration. That damn Diwu Zexuan had beaten her to the punch again!
â¦
Qin Youxuan drifted in and out of sleep.
Every time Dan Hanjie left her side for a while, she would startle awake, then frantically survey her surroundings.
She was afraid that she might be sent away while she was asleep and oblivious.
The next evening, even Diwu Zexuan showed up.
Originally worried about Dan Hanjie, it turned out he was perfectly fine, while Qin Youxuan, who seemed as resilient as a cockroach, had fallen ill.
Her immunity had been lowered by her period, coupled with the tremendous mental stress she had recently, and Qin Youxuan had spectacularly caught a cold, along with a persistent low fever.
âHer problem isnât just physical, itâs also psychological. The key lies with Hanjie, you need to carefully control the dosage of the medicine.â Diwu Zexuan sniffed the strong medicine smell in the living room and looked at Rui Hui.
Rui Hui immediately retorted, âIf youâre so capable, youâve noticed the problem for so long, why didnât you cure her?â
