Chapter 534: She's Not From This Circle

In stark contrast to the warmth of the room.

Outside the window, the night grew darker.

In the darkness, it seemed as if some unknown thing was breaking out of the ground.

In the city center, there was a small apartment.

The simple furnishings seemed in line with a bachelor’s apartment, with only a bed, a sofa set, and a refrigerator.

In the kitchen, a set of cookware lay almost untouched.

The entire room exuded a cold vibe.

“You’ve messed with the wrong person.” Jiang Jinchen, dressed in black, was cold and insensitive. His carefree face revealed a trace of sharpness as he stared at the attractive woman in front of him.

“Is it about the little journalist? Are you going to eat me?” Rui Hui sat on the sofa, picking at her nails nonchalantly. Upon hearing Jiang Jinchen’s words, she glanced at him, “Don’t tell me, you fancied her?”

“Don’t mention Ning Yanan in such a frivolous manner.” Jiang Jinchen’s brows furrowed, and his hand on the side clenched tightly.

Tense veins popped up on his forehead, with his temples throbbing as they were irritated by Rui Hui’s uncaring attitude. He could barely hold back from lashing out at her.

“OK! I didn’t know that little journalist was your woman, that’s why I acted against her. But she wasn’t hurt much, just some minor injuries. Jinchen, you’re not saying you want to fight me over this, are you?”

Rui Hui flicked a bewitching kiss to Jiang Jinchen with her seductive red lips and pale fingers.

Her expression exhibited utter nonchalance.

“Don’t think I won’t dare.” Jiang Jinchen’s eyes darkened, his gaze focused on Rui Hui as he took two steps forward.

“You’re insane!”

Rui Hui had her eyes wide open in disbelief.

She had only knocked out a woman who ended up neither crippled nor maimed, and he was acting as if he was going to fight her to the death.

“Jiang Jinchen, don’t forget, I once saved your life. If you’re insisting on repaying my kindness with malice, I won’t hesitate sending you to Yama Palace!”

“If you hadn’t saved me, I would have taken action long ago.” Jiang Jinchen turned away, with a chill in his tone.

“Well, try it! I want to see how you’ll attack me!”

Rui Hui, too, was enraged. She reached for a cup on the table and threw it directly at the back of Jiang Jinchen.

Her move was ruthless, accompanied by the sound of the cup cutting through the air…

Jiang Jinchen sidestepped, avoiding her attack.

He turned around and threw a punch which she swiftly dodged by flipping over the back of the sofa, rolling to the side.

Despite wearing a short skirt, she aimed a high kick at his face without hesitation.

The two figures tangled up swiftly…

“Bang, bang, bang——”

Things in the room were being destroyed at an observable speed.

By the time they stopped, the well-kept little apartment had been reduced to a ruin.

With every bit of the ground torn up, all they could do was stand on their respective sides, glaring at each other fiercely.

“She’s not in this circle. Stay away from her or I won’t hold back next time.” Jiang Jinchen lowered his face, his sharp almond eyes scanning the messy room, then turned around to leave.

“You think if I went all out, you would leave unscathed? Jiang Jinchen, don’t play dumb. I’m being lenient because we’re on the same side!”

Rui Hui’s chest heaved with rage as she watched Jiang Jinchen’s retreating figure. She could almost feel her lungs exploding with anger as she resentfully kicked a cushion by her foot.
